What's wrong with THIS picture?

Montebello High School in California

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times, nor on the lead story of the major news networks.

The protestors at Montebello High School took the American flag off the school's flag pole and hung it upside down while putting up the Mexican flag over it. What exactly they're protesting I couldn't tell you. But I'm sure it would be hard for me to fathom.

Where are the school administrators? Where's the media? Where's the Governator??

They sleep under the blanket of freedom we provide and then pull something like this??

This is an outrage!!

Are they blind? Are They Stupid?

That is very disrespectful and for one those who disrespect the U.S. of A. by doing idiotic things that will go too far like that needs to be in custody in with those being Mexicans (Mexican-Americans) whatever you want to call it, you got to think that many of them are illegal in the country, but whatever this problem is all about needs to be taken in full affect by California Law Enforcements and the court judicial system when most or all of them are taken into custody.

That is ridiculous. How'd you get this information though?

Americans who established and/or helped pass "feel good laws" have it coming to them. Instead of wasting their time protecting the flag, they should of thought to protect our great land from getting overtaken by idiots like those portrayed in the picture. Pfffffft!!!!!!

Big deal if this is all you have to worry about you should get a job. this is not your country nor is it mine we all came from someplace else. And when we came here we were all jail birds so what the hell is you POINT?
What do you fear the people are better than you ? or what i could care less about this penny stuff.They work harder than you for less money and jobs 10 years ago you would not do.But the way you voted put us in this mess and now you need that job you said you were to good for ten years ago so now you want them to leave. They should stay here just like you people did at least these people are not sent from the jails of another country like our people were.Rember what started this country so this is a much better path at least these people work.

A U.S. flag hung upside down is a sign of distress. Seeing this, it is certainly appropriate. Our country is in distress!

hatesnews the big deal is hanging the American flag upside down is an out and out sign of disrespect for this country.

Yes it is true we all came from somewhere else! BUT when my grandfather came to this country he HAD to learn the English language and he went through the immigration procedures by the LAW...he did not sneak into this country demanding free this and free that! What don't you get about that?

Because they are flying the flag of another country over that of the U.S. flag, upside down or not, this says to me that they are in fact claiming the land (California) for Mexico. In my opinion, this goes beyond protest and freedom of expression and is perhaps somewhere in the realm of treason. Although I certainly wouldn't be surprised to find that in California it would be perfectly acceptable behavoir. Maybe John Cusak or Sean Penn or Susan Sarandon or somebody could explain it to me.

To my knowledge there is NO circumstance under which it would be acceptable to fly the flag of another country over that of the U.S. flag on the same staff on U.S. soil.
