You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?  Read this

Boy am I confused.  I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us.

I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them.  I have included the URL's for verification of all the following
facts.

        1.  $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.

        10.  The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens.  In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US
            Verify at: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01h

11  During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries.  Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border.

The illegal alien stuff pisses me off, but I'd rather pay to feed an American single mom and her kids than spend more on buildings that the Iraqis "build by day, blow up by night." That's a direct quote from a friend of mine who served two tours in Baghdad.
This war isn't going to bankrupt us, but it IS putting an awful lot of strain on the country's fiscal status, no question. The fact that we waste more money taking care of illegals doesn't erase the dough that we're spending in the desert.

erock, in some ways i agree with you. yes, OUR money is better spent on OUR people.

We CAN take care of the illegal problem in a SNAP! by requiring that ALL applicants for ANY government assistance have the proper documentation.........not just the kids born here illegally, but the parents who are doing the applying. That would put a stop to millions of illegals being supported on OUR money.

The Iraq situation cannot be fixed quickly, or easily. Even IF we were wrong to go there in the first place (i don't believe that), we cannot in all good conscience leave them weak so that Iran can slaughter them. We just cannot do that, we have to stay until they are stable.

The point here: Stop throwing away money in Iraq so we can fix our own damn problems.

No PB you missed it again! WE cannot just desert these people now........Iran will slaughter them!

Get over it already!! I'd rather bur this billion dollars than use it to build and feed the people that want to kill us. I would rather give some to EVERY illegal person (as you call them) than give it to Iraq.

I would rather not give anymore money to any of these sponges.
We need to end the war the right way and we need to send the Illegals back and build that dam fence, It would be much cheaper to build the fence and post guards.
I would bet that the crime rate would drop.

The point here is, we spend way too much money on people that don't belong here.....

We should all get on our knees and THANK GOD that PB doesn't have control over the finances of the United States! LOL

Hey PB, have you taken in an illegal family yet? Have you given your paycheck to any of them yet? How about your car? They need cars to get around in...........did you give them yours yet?

The bottom line in my opinion is that we have too many homeless veterans in these here united states, and until we fix this problem and take care of our heros, we can't take care of Illegal aliens or Iraq's . In addition to homeless veterans we have homeless American's who can't get assistance from the Government.

Why would we be more concerned about iraq's and illegal aliens then our own people. Always take care of home first, which is take care of our Americans that are homeless and then help others who are in our homeland. This is my opinion.

But we do have choices, such as don't give illegal aliens jobs if they are not here legally and don't give them government assistance. They will then have choices, either return to their homeland and re-enter legally or become criminals. Everyone has a choice and usually personal circumstances distate what choices one makes.

Imagine that medea, I finally agree with you. The homeless, particularly homeless vets SHOULD be looked after. There are some though that CHOOSE to be that way as a result of mental illness, chemicals, etc. But yes, we SHOULD do a better job of looking after our Vets.

As far as the Iraqi's are concerned, we have no choice now but the stay there until they are stable. Iran WILL slaughter them if we leave prematurely. Yes, our dollars are better spent HERE on OUR people, but we are stuck there now. Time to make the best out of a bad situation & prop them up as best we can.

The illegals? Personally, I think the INS, Homeland Security, The Border Patrol & the National Gaurdsmen should spend 6 months rounding ALL of the up & shipping them OUT!

I see your point dprin on Iraq and i just can't see why we should continue to be there lifting up their people. You do know they have National Health Care that we are paying for. We could use that money to help those homeless and other veterans that have mental illness and chemical addictions, as well as help our hard working Americans who are working jobs that the employer can not afford to pay health care. I just can not justify in my mind and my heart why we are doing this. The iraq government has trillions of dollars in the bank and can pay to stabalize their own country. If they paid us to be there to help them then I can see it.

And just how much MORE will that cost? I do not want my tax money wasted on bureaucracy of sending poor people back to Mexico just to make them come back so we have to spend MORE money on them becoming citizens. Just because they broke some silly law doesn't mean we should waste our money. Give them Amnesty and make them pay taxes. End of story.

No PB, we spend the money sending them back & THEY spend the money to come back. It's pretty simple.

If THEY want to come back & become citizens, then THEY have to spend THEIR money to do it. The money they made while they were here most likely.

Silly law? The law is the law PB.

So all the administrative proceses involved in anturalizing citizens pays for itself? We'd still be paying for that. Plus we would have to send the people back. With these high gas prices, it would cost MORE, dummy!!

no the ILLEGALS pay for the process.....like everybody else has in the past!

WE bear the cost of sending them back and THEY bear the cost of coming back. It's pretty simple.

Rounding them up & sending them back wouldn't cost even 1/10th of what they are costing us NOW.
