I have to admit I was shocked last night when the Flyers traded him. I knew it was possible and my husband actually called it when they announced he was a last minute scratch, however I just never actually thought they would do it. I know their is a chance that he will be back. What I mean is that he will return this Summer as a free agent. That this whole thing is already planned out. I don't know, just my opinion, maybe it is my wishful thinking! I would love to know what you all think, good or bad for our Flyers? What do you think we need to do to turn it around?

Without a doubt, Forsberg is the greatest player in the world but I think that if he really likes philly as much as he says he does he wouldve stayed, taken the season as a loss, and REALLY helped to become a team next season. If he intends on coming back next year his leaving is only hurting the situation the Flyers are in right now. He wants to win and he plays for the cup. I also think, regaurdless of what he says, that he wanted to keep his playoff career streak alive. I love Forsberg but I think he should just stay away in the future. He slapped his fans in philly in the face by saying, this team sucks so i'm gonna go somewhere to try and win cause god knows we cant! as much as he'd help us win id rather lose than submit to a guy who KNOWS the team he's playing for cant win without him. ill post more thoughts later. this is enough for now. what a joke, two "rookies" and crappy draft picks for a draft that will have such a shallow pool of talent...what a joke. nice work holmgren ill bet clarke's thrilled!

Well This is my take on it. Forsberg Is a GREAT player. He is to Gagne what Leclare was to lindros. I don't really have to big of a problem with Peter's comments. I think he said what a lot of people are thinking. I think the Flyers took themselves for granted being in the playoffs since 93 -94. I think they the players became lazy (And trust me It pains my heart to say that because of how much I put into this team) Bobby Clarke became stale and Hitch was criticized for being too tough. Hitch was and is a GREAT COACH...These guys are professional if you or I go into work and cry about our boss WE get fired not the boss. So if he stired the pot GOOD they need it. Well the Problem we have now is good ole Paul. (can you see the puppet strings?) I don't even now where they can go from here. Goal tending is suspect at best Richards is doing nothing right now. Calder who?... This is an AHL team Literally Look at the roster and look at the phantoms roster from 2 years ago. Yes we need more speed and yes we need to be younger...But it needed to be incoporated not forced. I love the team I think they CAN be firey. But they now have no leadership. They have no idenity. Look at pittsburg. You know who they are and what they are about. I wish I know where they may go or who they may look at but I don't nor do I think they know where to go from here. I guess we hope...

I think that it was a business decision. The Flyers could hold Forsberg until the end of the year and watch him walk away for nothing or they could make him a rental player for 25 games to another team. If you look at it that way we got alot for 25 games. There is no guarantee Forsberg will resign here. Minus his cap money we could do big things in free agency. I love Forsberg. I hated to see him go but I see the other side of it too.
