Milwaukee Urinal reporter Gina Barton is at it again. This time her source(of a long time) is Attorney Jeffrey Jensen. You may remember Jensen, he's the one who supported the Oswalds for executing Captain Lutz during a botched bank robbery. Apparently everything Jensen tells Barton is Gospel to her and her agenda. Today she prints a story in the rag accusing a cop of sending profanity laced emails to Jensen. They haven't even confirmed that the emails are from him and the story even says so. What kind of agenda based journalism is that? The fact that her superiors let that unfounded story run shows just what goes on over at that disgrace of a newspaper.
It's no secret that Barton and Jensen are both cop haters. Even if this Mucha guy did send the emails, so what? Jensen wants to put a dangerous criminal back on the street because someone allegedly used some naughty words to him? C'mon, grow the heck up!!

While Mr. Walker might not have the proper solution yet, at least he is bringing attention to a serious problem with Milwaukee County's work release program. It seems he might have ruffled some feathers at the Courthouse. A building which has gone unquestioned for decades.
The Milwaukee County Judges have been handing out work release privileges like coupons for years. Even the worst criminals are being released from custody for child care and supposed jobs, which by the way, usually don't exist. How can anyone in good conscience, allow a convicted gun possessing felon, to have work release privileges? Haven't they heard over there that we have a problem with homicides and violent crimes in this area? The case of Corey McElroy was cited and the Judge said there were circumstances that warranted work release. This same Judge must believe that there are special circumstances in EVERY case then because he always grants work release and child care. It's right there for everyone to see. Take a look at his sentencing practices.
I for one am glad that these Judges, who don't feel accountable to the Community, are being called out on the carpet. They are supposed to consider three things when they impose a sentence, punishment, rehabilitation, and the SAFETY OF THE COMMUNITY. Around here they focus on the rehab, which has failed for years and they completely IGNORE the PUNISHMENT and SAFETY issues. In other words the DEFENDANT'S needs are made the priority and that folks, doesn't usually work. It might work for first time offenders and a handful of others, but we are constantly talking about REPEAT, REPEAT, and REPEAT offenders.
Thank you Mr. Walker for having the guts to speak out and bring attention to this serious problem.
