So back in the day, it was pounded in our heads not to open email attachments from someone we did not know.  Well, hackers use new tricks to send email that looks like it is from a legitimate sender in your address book.

So how do you know if an email attachment is really safe and virus free?  Do you simply rely on your antivirus program?

Now there is a FREE web site called VirusTotal.com.  Simply upload the file you've been sent before opening it.  VirusTotal will scan it using 35 varieties of virus scanners.  Not bad huh?

Click Here for the web site.

Great site, Tom!

There are so many different types of virus detection our there, and, none of them are perfect.

Also, having more than one AV program on your PC can be bothersome, they don't always play well together. Especially if your have real-time protection enabled on more than one.

Great website Tom, thanks for the idea!
I want to let you and all the other bloggers know to tune in for the results of your battery test. Find out which batteries last the longest and if it's really worth paying for the big name brands. Tom put together a very accurate test with 4 types of batteries and 9 different brands, the results are surprising! See them on Fox 29 News at 10pm on Wednesday 27th.

Hi Thunder,

Rechargeables are a whole different ball game... We focused on the majority of the consumer market which comprises about 90% using regular throw-away batteries you buy in a pinch or throw in your shopping cart.

There will always be newer technology out there, but we tested the common alkaline batteries. Certainly, it would not be beneficial to use rechargeables in high drain devices which is a weakness of rechargeable batteries.

I smell a new blog coming.... anyone?
