Remember the Group R.E.M ? Of course you do! It's an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia in 1980 by Bill Berry (drums), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass guitar), and Michael Stipe (vocals). R.E.M. was one of the first popular alternative rock bands, and gained early attention due to a "jangly" guitar style and cryptic vocals. They had a song called". It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" Man ,what a great song! The lyrics are so awesome! When you have time, take a listen, it's so true today! Which brings me to the music industry. It is at its very end! Contrary to Justin Timberlake's warped view, the music industry totally sucks today!!! Brittney Spears is the proof! It's a circus now with Brittney ,50 cents, P-Diddy and crew, leading the way. Neither who play instruments! Gone are the days of great talent from Pinkfloyd , the Remones, Sex Pistols ,Van Halen ,Joan Jett, Pixies, The Clash ,Nirvana, Quiet Riot. And there are only a few out there today like "the redhot chilie peppers , Tool, Fallout boys, Bush, Greenday, Pearljam. Weezer and system of a down ,to name a few. I know ,there are plenty more! However, there has been a systematically driven process in the music industry to destroy rock bands. It all began around 1997/98 with pop situations like Brittney Spears and boy bands led by Justin Timber lake. After grunge died with Nirvana , the music world finally gave in to Rap music out of social pressure , greed and it was just no where to turn. Many Rap artists used their art as a "social badge" that demands the music industry to accept buffoonish and mediocre while shielding them from deserved criticism. These key factors alone has nearly destroyed the music industry. Today, many kids under the age of 25 listen to 90 % rap. A lot of these kids really don't know what true music is anymore. MTV deprived them of the that right when they removed music videos and gave them rap and reality T.V. shows instead. Oh sure, they may wear a Remone t-shirt to be cool because an older brother or uncle told them about a once great rock band, but that's all it is. Most don't understand.Their idea of music is listening to a guy on a microphone and a turn tables that plays loops of other people's music , yelling incoherent grammar about B'S and whores. This is the new concept of music. If these rap artists did not have this access, most of them would be in a psychiatrist's office. The lyrics in Rap today are mostly infantile and does not leave any everlasting effect like a U2 song or The Offspring song(come out and play) Dam that song still rocks!!! Also, 99% of rappers don't play instruments and try fooling the public by leasing out people who do play instruments. How phony is that? 10 years from now we will laugh at all of those 50cents songs .Moving on, Brittney Spears is another example of of what's wrong with music. She can longer keep the facade going . She knows she was a created fake by the doings of the current music industry. I don't feel any pity for her . The American Idol folks now are trying to bail her out. They are the big pushers of mediocrity in music. Their plan is to prove to us they can make a board a superstar! American Idol does not like true rock bands because these guys play (most of them ) for the love of the music and not for some phony facade! Not once have American Idol pushed any real rock bands! Rock bands are hard to control! Thank God! Keep on Rocking in the free world guys!!! So all they(Americna Idol) have is pool full of Meritocracy to pick from. There must be a Resurrection from some where or some one. Who will pick up the mantel before the people and outlets I have mentioned ruining music forever!! It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I don't Feel Fine!!!!!!!)"

The single, "lazy eye" by Silversun , is a new fresh release that is now being played on Denver's local rock stations! With a leading guitarist sound ,followed by an awesome innocent beach girl like voice from female singer "Nikki Monninger ", this song is an incredible hit!. Nikki's voice leaves us no doubt that she is also easy on the eyes. The single appears to be a mixture of indie rock with a slight taste of grunge. The song starts out slowly, rising to a pitching harmony , lead by an electrical guitar sound ,before calming down again ,like a volcano after an eruption. Offering once more, the innocently but dangerouus voice of " Nikki Monninger". The electrical sounds of the guitar takes the lead for most of the song. The lyrics ,although short, are still very compelling and emotionally intoxicating. Once you understand Nikki Monninger's duologue with herself ,you begin to appreciate the guitar's compliments. Her smooth voice is awesome! Brian Aubert(vocals/guitar) who voice comes to the front ,during a verse, really pushed the song's momentum. Although the electrical guitar sounds may have been a little lengthy, don't let the running river of noisy guitar effects, in the song, scare you. Overall ,the song is an easy addiction.
So was anyone surprised that the Dixie Chicks won 5 Grammy s ,one being
record of the year ? Come on people, has the world ,truly, gone mad? That
song is o.k., but record/album of the year??? I have a funny suspicion that
the Bush haters where in the house. See, this is the problem with our world today.
We now celebrate mediocre , as long as it's backed by very wealthy nuts, who
called themselves secular progressives. This is why the music industry
,today, has become so water down. The industry pushes rap/gangsta rap
and prepped up individuals with little talent just to prove that ,in
America, mediocrity can still make billions and oh F&**& our president ,as well .The terrorist love these people! It ,also ,demonstrates the world may be right about us . Americans may just be this stupid . I surely
don't believe this, but the music industry have been trying to prove
it to world for the last 2 decades! Anyway, I thought the Police were
awesome! Cant wait when their tickets go on sell! John Mayer was great
as well. He is very talented. Memo to Justin Timberlake ,you're not
sexy dude ! Turn off the cable T.V. Moving on. The Red hot chilly
peppers deserve this years win,but sorry Christ Rock ,they are not ,yet,
considered the best band out there today. Listen more to the rock genre
and lay off some of the rap, you will then see what I am talking about.
I don't know how in the world Niel Young got nominated . Very
perplexing, to say the least. Finally, there are good rock bands out
their folks. Heck, I love the Chevelles-"send the pain" ,Snow Patrol,
and Blue October "hate me "rocks too. Our local band "the fray" missed
out on their award that went ,instead, to the "black eye peas" UGH!!,
has the world gone mad??? Yes, they (the black eye peas)are very entertaining, but that's
it people-a circus!! Although I was a little disappointed that the
Grammy s spent too much time on R&B,(R&B really used to be the
mecca of great bands like Earth wind& fire,Cameo and kool and the
gang. No more, gone are those days too.) Today R&B can only offer Ludicrous and
Jamie foxs- sad! However, I really liked the James Brown tribute, although very
short. But, you would have thought the Grammy s was a Mary j blide
tribute instead. What's with her anyway? Just sing ,please, and stop hitting us
with the "me victim"". Enough already! We are tired hearing about the fact that you
are "a work in progress." We ,simply , don't care! so are we! so are we! Lastly,
what is it with these white female singers, who are ,overly, trying to speak , sound, and act like Whitney Huston? Oh wait, it's that "secular progressive"
thing again. It's found its way in both the music and picture
industry. They say it's cool now, I say fake, fake fake. Never the less, there is a happy ending .Other bands are also
planing a comeback tour (thank god, cause we seriously need it) Maybe
some of them will be groups like Queen, AC/DC,Motorhead, Def Leppard,
the Scorpions, Motley Crue and Guns n Roses, and the Go-Gos (a true all girl "kick A$$" rock band-not pussycat dolls)) Dam no Jimi !!! (Hendrix)
, Oh well , You get my drift!

It is about time the NFL finally got one right! Prince was purely awesome! Unlike in past years where you had such week acts like p-diddy, LL cool J , and embarrassing performances by Janet Jackson and Justin Timberle. Also, there were also your has been acts, like the rolling stones and Elton John. Prince showed the world how it's done! How a true rock star performs !! This guy is a true musical performer. There has been so much frustration over the years ,since the merge of hip hop and musical pretenders into the music industry , Prince performance was a breath of fresh air! I would hope other rock star will also step up to the plate and start showing these hip hop ,MTV , American Idols wanna be s (except Kelly Clarkson-she rocks!) how it's done. Prince is definitely no fluke. He is the real thing and he rocked it like a rock star should have. O.k you other rock bands, it's time to step up and join 'Prince" in the "Rebirth of Rock" and stop letting yourselves be hostage to rap/hip hop music because MTV say it's cool or you are just afraid of rap( ig, Linkin Park ,fall out boys) even though everyone knows it is buffoonish and filled with mediocre."IT IS WHAT IT IS"! Pick up your guitars and let me see you rock it like Prince did!!! Thank you prince! After the intoxication of rap music where people jump around with their paints falling off them and yelling inaudible words over a microphone ,your performance was greatly needed and appreciated!!!That's how it's done MTV! Grammy s!!! Let's,now, have more of these type of Rock performance and less mediocre! Gone are the days, artists like Ashlee Simpson, "you make me wanna scream!" Let's do it more like " I love Rock and Roll, put another dime in the Juke box baby"-joan jett !!!

Although I am not a fan of his style or genre, I wanted to listen to an album that, I felt, was overly hyped for several weeks. The first thing that caught me ,it wasn't very original. It seemed like just another rap song. After listening to several tracks, I still was not able to pen down the hoopla about this artist and his music. The lyrics were all the same, incorporating lose women and materialistic pursuits. I did determined, however, he used the N-bomb ,incredibly,on numerous occasions throughout his tracks. I found that to be quite interesting. Very recently, the comedian, who played "Kramer" on Seinfeld , has come under harsh criticism(deservedly) for using the N-bomb that was directed at a group of disrespectful hecklers. On his new album, ,Jay z used the N-bomb as his M.O. What's even more interesting, white middle class kids are Jay-Zs larger purchaser's. They love his lyrics. How Ironic is that? You cannot convince me that these purchasers aren't repeating such a horrible word as they sang along with his tunes. How Ironic! Overall, I gave this album a thumbs down.
