Oil Robber Barons -- Douglas ChickAt the gas pumps in this morning, I stare at the swiftly spinning dials, and the cycle of anger begins. Oil Robber Barons strike at the pumps again. I check out at the grocery store, Oil Robber Barons impact the food I eat. I come home and watch the nightly news, Oil Robber Barons, Oil Robber Barons, something about Hilary and Obama, Oil Robber Barons.

It is true that we are a capitalistic society, and our country enjoys the luxury of a free market, but when our economy is driven by Oil Robber Barons, where is the line between a free market society and out of control greed?

The countries that regulate thier oil sales, have a stronger dollar then the U.S. (They are financially stronger than the United States.) Why, because they know their economy is based off the cost of fuel. Do we need the same regulations to protect our country, or do we allow Oil Robber Barons to drive down America until we are a weak, over inflated, hollow country, dependant on the generosity of other nations?

Doug, have you checked to see what they're paying for a gallon of gasoline in most major European cities lately? The dials are spinning more swiftly over there!

Do you really believe that the Euro is stronger than the dollar because of regulating oil sales?

Your right about one thing, we are a capitalist society. I, for one, hope we STAY THAT WAY.

I guess, like President Bush, the oil company's make a convenient scapegoat.

Do we have to re-post everything that we stated in the blog that your deleted this morning?

I find it curious that you accuse them of being killers and war criminals, with nothing more than your opinion as evidence.

You have the American environmental radical terrorists to blame for the price of oil, not oil companies. Had we built more refineries, drilled for oil offshore, in Anwar and other places, built more nuclear power plants, and invested more in clean coal technology, we would not need Arab or Venezuelan oil. FAct is, we get more of our oil from Canada now than we get from Arab states. It's supply and demand - while the rest of the world has increased the supply of energy, including oil, we've done nothing for over 30 years in the US to address the issue because our government is scared by the radical environmentalists. So blame them, not the oil companies (who provide more than just oil, I might add, as they are energy companies now, not just oil companies).

Seems that the eco-terrorist have many blinded to the facts in our nation. We haven't built an oil refinery in this country since 1976. It's been a long time since we have built a nuclear power plant also. Even the founder of Greenpeace is touting nuclear power now. The founder of the weather channel is disgraced at the 'global warming' propaganda machine the weather channel has become. But, all the blame goes to the oil companies, whose profit margin has remained in the 8-9% range.(compared to Google's 25%)?????
