Why does no one care about th Susan Miller Dorsey High band anymore? the teens have been left to teach themselves the past 5 weeks and it has just been recent that they have gotten a replacement teacher. The students have given up all hope on our communities because they too have posted blogs on Good Day la and contacted companies that sponsor bands and they have been told on every occasion that they do not meet the qualities to become sponsored. The young promising teenagers have been in hope of going to compete in their yearly festival in Las vegas, but their motivation is drained for they know they will not be going because they cannot afford it and no one will donate to them for them to go. It was also their hope to find sponsors to get new instruments and uniforms for both of those items are either broken, rusted, MOLDED, chewed through by RATS, torn, repatched, and rehemmed. This is a disgrace that people do not care about these young teens that succeed in school and life, but cannot have a successful program due to financial difficulties. The schol does not donate to any program except football, and their may not be a music program much longer if these conditions worsten. PEOPLE PLEASE, help our children. If you emptied out your pocket change and donated to a school and multiple people did that, it could pay for these items. The children are not asking for much from you, just a bit of hope in a time of desperate need of hope and motivation.

The Susan Miller Dorsey High School marching band is in dire need of sponsorships. The band consists of several underprivileged teenagers throwing their hearts and souls into the music program; however they are not able to successfully enjoy it. For the instruments are old, worn down, broken, rusted and the uniforms are in no better condition. Almost all are torn, chewed through by rodents, or have been re-patched for the past several years. When wondering if they will ever be able to go to the band festival in Las Vegas this year, they know the answer will be no, because of the lack of a replacement teacher since the last one retired. The Susan Miller Dorsey High School marching band has been in constant meetings with the higher superiors , but all hope has been lost because they are "too busy to look for a teacher, and they have lost contact of those that did want to teach there. Frankly, if they are not speaking about football or possibly losing their accreditation, then it is not important to the Susan Miller Dorsey High School staff, Principle, or those in the district. Please, we ask you...help us find sponsorships, so that we can continue competing in competitions, field shows, and showing our pride. Please give the Susan Miller Dorsey High school something to look up to rather than whether or not they would be killed by the local gangs or if anyone outside of the Los Angeles District will even know of the Dorsey High School band. We are looking for hope in a time of need. Thank you.
