In my 42 years I only rememeber two years where the Phila. area only got a trace which was 72-73 and 97-98.I think our 2-3 inches so far has those years beat, but is this it?The first ten days of Feb. are forecast to trend mild, so are any big storms on the horizon for the last month of winter/

I was almost 100% convinced after watching former VP Al Gore's documentry on global warming. After having one of the most mildest Decembers, and first half of January,s I was on board with his theory. However,Winters reality has set in.I 've been freezing my behind off for the last month.Where's the global warming?I totally disagree with this theory now.Every winter is cyclical in nature.I do agree though, that the Polar Ice Cap Melt is a great concern. Former Pres. Gore did provide a lot of proof on the subject and I commend him.I'm freezing my behind off right now with the first day of spring only 38 days away.Although Global warming is always a concern, it's not very warm here in nj on Feb 10.

Although it's much too early to draw any conclusions, could this winter be identical to 1997-98 when we only had a trace of snow?Aren't we in the same elnino pattern that has established itself so far?I realize it's only early Jan but where is all the cold air if central canada is + 10 above normal?

It seems like the cold weather we briefly suffered is done for at least to the end of the month. The long range forecasts support this.If last weeks pattern of brief cold continues through the season, I'll be a happy man!

I'm thankful the cold weather had a short stay.If the rest of the winter follows this pattern we'll be ok.The forecast for next week sounds like we'll be able to save big on heating bills, especially if this month doesn't turn cold again.I've read that another cold blast isn't predicted in the next 15 day period.

After the almost springlike month of November ,I guess winter finally decided to show up.Even though it was at least 20 degrees colder(the wind made it feel a little colder)it was still a nice late fall day.It will be interesting to see how the long range forecast for this winter plays out.Almost every local forecaster in the Philly area has called for at least slightly above snowfall totals. The forecast at least for the next 7 days doesn't show high temps much below 40.I guess we'll se how long this trend will last.

Even though I know the answer to this question ,I'm still hoping maybe we'll get away with an easy winter.I know we seem to end up paying in the end,but compared to my younger days the winters around here seem to start much later.I remember some years by Dec 1st we would've already had several episodes of winter weather but I haven't seen that in what seems nearly 10 years.I know the winter forecast is supposed to be above normal snow fall and theres several trends to support this.I'm just going to keep hoping that winter will skip us this year and just in case I'll hold on to that snow shovel.

What a miserable day.At least it wasn't snow.I remember in 1989 when we got about 4 inches. That's the only time in my 40 years i remember getting snow on Thanksgiving.I'm glad tomorrow won't be quite as bad and the rest of the weekend is supposed to be much nicer.I just hope all the long term weather prognosticators are off with their prediction of a slightly below normal winter with more snowfall

I'm glad the weekend is here!I really have to step my job search up.I really need a career change! I hope to ride my bike tomorrow. The World Series starts in Detroit tomorrow.Detroit is heavily favored.I'll go with all the so called experts; and pick Detroit to sweep.St. Louis came a long way for a team only 4 games over 500.It's hard to see as a Phillies fan.The Phillies won 3 more games than the Cards and couldn't even make the playoffs.I'm tired of always waiting for next year.Thats all.
