The Democrats are calling for a plan to have Iraq free of US troops in 2008 and having their government turned back to them.I think this plan is long overdue.I know there's actually people out their who think we're preventing terrorism by being over there. I think these people need to wake up.In my opinion terrorism stretches much further than Iraq. Our President keeps stating we should support our troops.Look at the Walter Reed fiasco! How were these troops supported? Not very well. It's hard to think no one knew about this.We need to approve this measure now and leave Iraq to its own devices. There's plenty of other problems around the world and in our country to confront.

I agree, especially since my son is graduating from Marine Boot Camp at the end of this month. I was not happy with his decision but realize he needs to do what he feels is best for him. I can only hope that this war ends soon.

I wish it was that simple. Complicated threats and dangers are rarely solved with simple solutions. Since the surge, violence in Iraq has dropped 80%. Of course, you won't hear that on the evening news. No one likes war, but the Dems are deluded into thinking that if we just pull out of Iraq our problems will go away. That just shows weakness to an enemy who is looking for weakness and will take full advantage of it. I don't believe some Dems really understand just who this enemy is and what they are capable of. America will be fighting these terrorists for some time to come because their stated goal is to kill Americans and destroy and annihilate Israel and the West. This was the case long before we invaded Iraq and it will be the case long after we are out of Iraq. But because the theater of this war is focused on Afghanistan and Iraq, you are not fighting it in South Jersey, for which you can thank President Bush. And we have not had to fight this war on American soil since 9/11/01. And our military is doing a fabulous job, but you won't hear about that on the evening news either. I find it somewhat amusing that the blame for every negative event and occurrence in the world and in our government is placed on the shoulders of George Bush. Who are all these folks going to blame when he is no longer in the White House? Should be amusing or perhaps downright frightening depending on the backbone and character of our next President.

I am in agreement of pulling out our troops from Iraq. They had plenty of time and training to learn how to maintain themselves. Too many of our troops are being killed by roadside bombs ect.
We aren't fighting terrorism by being there, the main initiative was to seek weapon's of mass destruction, well, we did and none were found. Now it has turned into us policing Iraq...not OUR job.
Bring Troops home NOW.
