Barack Obama's Ten Point Plan

1  Ban use of firearms for home self-defense.

2 Pass Federal laws eliminating your Right-to-Carry

3 Ban the manufacture, sale and possesion of handguns.

4 Close down 90% of gun shops in America.

5 Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

6 Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent.

7 Restore voting rights for five million criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.

8 Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.

9 Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.

10 Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

Why would any normal thinking person vote for this fruitcake?

He never said good change, remember Hitler brought change, Castro brought change and Saloth Sar (Pol Pot) brought change to Cambodia and remember what happened with their change.
Disarm the people, the first step for a submissive subject not a citizen. I don't believe in that kind of change.

I've read this in the NRA magazine "Freedom 1st". As I have said many times in the past, I do not trust anyone who has a mind to take everyone's gun away from them. This does nothing for safety as the only one's that are affected our the law abiding citizens. The most dangerous and deadliest places to be are the so called "Gun Free" zones for the exact same reason. Criminals do not respect or obey gun laws and all these laws do is make an honest citizen prone to being taken advantage of. If any of these 10 point "Changes" go into effect, watch the crime rate sky rocket. That's exactly what is happening in Australia, England and Canada where gun ownership is illegal or nearly illegal (except by criminals).

If something like this passes......then the only ones who have guns will be criminals. Look at Washington DC!!
They won't get our guns. Never. We have licenses to carry and we will keep them.

They'll have to track me deep into the Rockies to get my firearms! Hope they know what bear traps look like!

This will pass only if we allow it. Speak with your vote in November, and demand that your voices be heard everywhere else.

Only a small percentage of gun related deaths are by strangers of the victim.
The gun related death will most likely be:

1.a suicide
2.the gun owner murdering a friend/family member
3. a family member/friend murdering the gun owner

I believe the right to bear arms should be protected. Government interference would only create a new class of criminals- gun owners who refuse to give up their arms.

If something like this did take effect, would you be willing to give up your firearms? Or would be willing to be considered a criminal, potentially facing jail-time?

"When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". Still holds true.
I'm with Call2Glory.

Is that because you will refuse to give up your guns, thus becoming an outlaw?

Or do you mean that you gave up yours and the ones who have guns are the non-law abiding dregs of society?

senor--would you render yourself defenseless?
I would not, so if that made me a criminal, then so be it. If I had to use my 9 in self defense, I feel that it's better to be judged by 12 men than carried by 6 (to my grave).

dhw1949 I am with you all the way..."from my cold dead hands they will pry away my glock."

I would rather be considered a criminal by my goverment and own a gun, then be a victim or worse dead, and I will defend my family in the very same manor.

Count me in as a "future criminal" because I will NEVER surrender my firearms!
dhw, no normal thinking person would vote for Obama. The problem is that we have allowed abnormal thinking people to reproduce like rabbits, and unfortunately they are allowed to vote.

I own a sufficient number of loaded, easily accessible guns.
Pity the fool who thinks he/she can take them away from me!

The problem, as I see it, is the lack of respect for the weapons. Some people should not own weapons. Just like some people should not have children. Just because you can own a weapon or have a child, does not mean it is a good idea.

Bob- "no normal thinking person would vote for Obama..." Apparently, your definition of normal needs to be redefined. For example, there is a "married" gay couple on my street, who are armed to the teeth. They feel the need to arm themselves to protect themselves from "bigots who want to kill them" because of their lifestyle. They are constantly asking me if I want to go to the range with them. And they are Republicans!!! Add that to your normal definition.

Why be normal? Normal is boring... I can't think of any normal person who would vote for either candidate or party. But this about gun control... I admire you for your response about your willingness to become a future criminal. But when the chips are down, I doubt that you would be so willing to go to prison, leaving your family and friends behind defenseless. I don't think I could be that dedicated or selfish. Rather, I would give up my weapon, and fight to change the law from outside the joint. Evading "Bubba" would be all I'd worry about, I wouldn't have time for anything else...

How about we spread the word about this dark-skinned Alfred E. Newman look-alike's assinine, anti-constitutional agenda? That's what this blog was about, but getting side-tracked doesn't bother me.
BOB--better dead than Bubba'd?
senor--better cave in than be Bubba'd?
