Who do you think has been the best and the worst President in the last 50 years?

I say Reagan is the best, Carter the worst.

Well I havent been here for long, but I do remember the Reagan/Thatcher days when I was in England, the general consensus was that Reagan was an Actor in film and Politics and was always just sitting in Thatchers skirt pocket all the time, those two were a pair weren't they?!?!?!

For once aks I agree with you Clinton best - Bush the absolute worst (but then I wasnt in this country for any of the other ones!!)

Kennedy best. Bush worst.

JIMMY CARTER was definitely THEEEEE WORST in the last 50, but he shares the "WORST EVER" title with the other dimly lit visionary, Woodrow Wilson.

The best would be a tie between Reagan and Kennedy. Reagan was a brilliant strategist, and Kennedy issued Executive Order 11110.

I think Kennedy was good but I think Reagan edges him out for best. I agree that Carter is the worst of the last 50 yrs.

I think that Regan was the best in the last 50, I believe that Kennedy would have been way better than Regan could ever have imagined, had he not been assasinated. Kennedy could have IMHO the best President this country had ever had. As for the worst I say George W Bush Jr. the village idiot is the worst of the worst, Jimmy Carter is a close 2nd.

I think Carter was absolutely the worst and I'm torn between Kennedy and Reagan for best. Have to agree with native, if Kennedy hadn't been assasinated he would have been by for the best.

I guess Reagan was the best, but he wasn't good. It's just that everyone else has been so bad. We can thank Reagan for legalizing thousands of illegals without securing our borders. Now we have tens of thousands of more illegals. They came knowing we would give them citizenship too. And that is what we will end up doing.

Carter was probably the worst. He did bad on all fronts. The interest rates back then were through the roof. The economy just plain sucked.
But I think Clinton comes in as second to the worst. We had a good economy under Clinton, but he made our military a paper tiger. He gave early outs to our military and intelligence, thus reducing them both to second rate. He bent over every time we were attacked. Then September 11 came and the terrorists had their way with us figuring we would bend over again like Clinton did. I blame Clinton for 9/11 (after the blame to the actual losers in hell that did the deed). If Clinton would have enforced the restriction we forced on Iraq way back then, we wouldn't be in Iraq right now. If Clinton would have used force after the Cole attack and other attacks, we never would have had the 9/11 mass murders.
If Obama gets in, he will probably end up being the worst. If McCain gets in, he will probably third from the worst.

Another bad mark on Clinton. If he wouldn't have nixed the ANWAR Alaska drilling like he did, we wouldn't be as dependant of foreign oil. And gas would probably still be in the $3.00 a gallon range. Thus food and other items would also be cheaper.
And for those that think Kennedy and Clinton were best, what about their moral values? They both cheated on their wives. Yet ablaze keeps talking about how low morally McCain is (and I agree that he is). Why can't liberal presidents keep it in their pants?

Kennedy best, GW Bush worst.
Reagan was a great actor pretending to be a president. It was an academy award performance.
Obama is the next Kennedy, bringing the country back together...

There are millions of acres in Alaska that have yet to be drilled. Use those first before we 'give' oil companies more land. It's like the Republicans have put this country up for sale and the buyers are big businesses and foreign countries instead of the American people. Go Obama and Democrats!!! Time to clean up after another Pres.

Ken--it was a real shame that Clinton made such poor personal choices while Pres. However, he did a lot for this country inluding building a huge surplus (that the Reps squandered) and worked hard for this country. In fact, he took less vacation time than any other Pres in the history of the US. McCain, on the other hand, hasn't done much for our state much less the country and we already know what a scum bag he is. How is he supposed to 'protect us from terrorists' when he didn't even recognize that his wife had a drug problem (or still does)?

A surplus based on forcing all Americans to go to work in true communist form. (instead of the husband or wife) so BAMM 2x as many tax payers. This was done by forcing lenders to skyrocket their rates for homes and autos. Thusly he had a surplus to boast, this is after he abused Reagans prosperity that he gave this country. I hate communists. They suck.

For a quick second I considered Kennedy's and Clinton's moral values, but frankly, they've all failed morally (as human as that is of course). Not all immoral acts are sexual. Some are acts of dereliction. For example, I hold Bush responsible for the marines on trial and border agents who were locked up despite evidence that they deserved leniency.

Good points, pJ, especially about Campeon and Ramos and the marines.

Johnson & Nixon: Ruthless, power hungry legends in their own minds. Johnson responsible for the assassination of J.F.K. and others.

Ford: Bumbling idiot with the personality of a vegetable.

Jimmy Carter: Failed to bomb Iran out of existence in 1979.
Distracted by having to bail his drunk brother Billy out of jail every time he got arrested for peeing in public.

Ronald Reagan: Financed, armed, and trained Osama Bin Laden in his fight against the "Evil Empire". Actually, considering the fact that Ronnie displayed symtoms of Alzheimers from the very beginning, and progressively got worse, Nancy should shoulder the blame for the Reagan years. It was obvious she called the shots, and I'm not sure Ronnie even knew he was President.

Bush Sr.: Stopped Gen. Schwartzkopf 100 miles from Baghdad instead of letting him take care of business during the first Gulf War. Married the Quaker Oats man and fathered Bush Jr.

Bill Clinton: Failed to do anything in response to several terrorist attacks, including the U.S.S. Cole and the WTC in '93. Married possibly the most repulsive woman to ever walk the Earth, and inspite of being the most powerfull man in the world for 8 years, couldn't do any better than a fat little pig named Monica.

Bush Jr.: Failed to bomb Afghanistan out of existence the afternoon of Sept. 11 '01.
College educated, President of the United States, and still can't pronounce the word NUCLEAR.

The best: Kennedy. He wasn't in office long enough to do any real damage.

The worst: Any of the above, it's too close to call.

Since "Clinton" politics has taken a nose-dive.

"It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first."
