As I was sitting home monday, with the batteries ready and the dog on his leash: I seemed to remember reading somewhere when I was in school that In wisconsin the only month that has never had a tornado reported was February. The only months that had never had reported snow were july and August.
I know we are a state known for some strange and rapid changes, What are the facts??
So, the other day, I went in for a little talk to the boss. I carefully pointed out that MPS would be uping my taxes by 10% to pay for their declining enrollment, and poor performance.
I added that WE-energies would be taxing me 15% more to keep the lights and heat on in my home, because they can't seem to figure out how to run a company effectively and efficently with all the millions they take in, and have not come up with a plan to collect from all the deadbeat users that are on their lines.
I also mention that, in order for me to continue to come to work I would have to put gas in the car, and that the state legislature has not managed to do anything about the ancient law that requires gas station to post minimum mark up. That the dolt that got himself elected governor, who has promised an investigation every time the gas prices jumped has done nothing about protecting the comsumers of the state.
For these reasons I told her that I would need at least a 20% salary hike this year and most likely next year, just to make ends meet and stay in the same marginal place I am. That since all these things were done without considaration to how I am going the make these frayed ends meet. It would have to come from my source of income, just as their's did from me. I was informing her of this just as these tax and price increases were dumped on me, and the company would just have to tighten it's belt and pay better. After all I was told they "didn't have a chioce," so I guess the boss didn't have one either.
My boss is recuperating in the hospital after the hernia repair she needed from laughing so hard, tha upper management has it posted as the "funnie of the month"
