Here are a few parenting tips i have thought up myself for you all who could use it! PLEASE UNDERSTAND! That all of these tips are just my opinion and my thaughts that I have formed from my experieces with children and babies!

1. DON'T USE HUGGIES! They suck! They leak everywhere and leave you poor baby with a diaper rash from hell! I say USE PAMPERS or LUVS! They are the only good diapers! Also change your baby often! my son has NEVER had diaper rash! at the most he has had a slight pinkness from the heat but it went away after one aplication of diaper rash cream!

2. DON'T PICK THEM UP INSTANTLY! I hate it when I see a parent struggling to get their baby to sleep because they want to be held constantly! If you teach your child to fall asleep on their own they will! My son almost always goes to bed with no problems!

3. IT'S OK TO LET THEM CRY! When my son was an infant he was "nocternal" and we would be up ALL night long trying to feed him and get him to sleep! untill we asked the doctor if he needed the nightly feedings anymore and he didn't! We also asked if it would be ok to let him cry and the doctor said yes! so that night Collin's bassinet was moved to the living room where we couldnt hear him and he cried himself to sleep! After that he only woke up in the middle of the night like once a month! until we moved him to his toddler bed which he fell out of only once so far and that was the only nightly waking so far!

4. TRASH THE BOTTLE ON THE FIRST BIRTHDAY! I can't stand it when I go to Wal-Mart and I see a five year old child with a bottle in their mouth! I want to smack their parent! Not only does it cause tooth decay but it causes emotional and psychological problems! It is not only my opinion but most likely ALL doctor's opinion's that children should be off the bottle by their first birthday! If you decide to just take it away all at once, it will only take the child about 2 days to forget about the bottle totally! Don't ever give in!

5. NEVER GIVE IN! Wether it comes to taking the bottle away or taking the crib away.....never gie the things back after taking them away! it confuses the child! And if you are trying to disipline them by either time-outs or restriction of toys, NEVER give in to their demands of the things! If you say they have to sit in time out for 5 minutes then thats how long they sit there! If the toy is soposed to be put up for the rest of the day then it is! If you gie in once, they know they can just throw a fit to make you give in again!

6. THEY WANT YOUR ATTENTION WHEN THEY THROW TEMPERTANTRUMS! The only reason that children throw tempertantrums is to get you to react to them and give in! DON'T! If you are at home, put the child in their room where they are safe to throw a fit and close the door. Don't talk! They won't hear you over themself! When they calm down go in their and calmly explain to them why they threw the fit and why they didn't get what they wanted. If you are in a public place when they throw a tempertantrum, leave the cart where it is, ask a store employee to take care of it and walk with your child out the door to the car and put them in their car seat and explain to them that you are leaving because they couldn't keep themself calm. Then leave and next time it happens remind them of that day and tell them that you will leave the store if they don't calm down. By what I have experienced, this will eventually eleminate all tempertantrums....because like I said, they just want your attention! If you give it to them then they will now that they just have to throw a tempertantrum to get what they want.

7. TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM! Even when you are mad at them just let them know that you still love them and that it's not them that you don't like but what they did that you don't like! Most kids freak out because they thin when their parent yells that means they don't love them!

We only use HUGGIES because LUVS did not fit. So I guess in the end it is how they fit your baby.
