i am a 72 year old male.i live in bensalem.i am still working parttime for the company i retired from.i have been with them 21 years.i believe in what we do.we are clean air specialists.we clean anything that could be a health or fire hazzard.such as cooling towers,hvac systems,kitchen greasehood and launtry dryer exhaust systems.almost sounds like a commercial.Ha,HA!
my interests are varied.i collect lighthouses,tall ships.my bigest passion as far as collecting things are diecast automobles.the size i prefer is 1:32th.i have appox. 135 of this size,maybe 8 of 1:24th size and 3- 1:18 size.there is a sprinkling of motorcycles.some harleys,some indians and some orange county choppers throrn in for good measure models from 1900 to present day.
my big thing right now is genealogy and possibly for the rest of my life.it is going to take longer than that! i have traced my mothers side (both her mother and father) back to 1767 in scotland.my fathers side,his mother's side back to 1803 in tioga county in pennsylvana.my fathers side,his fathers side back 26 generations.most came from england.came over with the pilgrims in 1634.migrated to pennsylvania about 1700 in to tioga and bradford counties.my father came to phila.,with hiscousin in 1918 to find work. my mother came to phila.,in 1919 from boston to live with her mother who had migrated to this country in 1889.if anyone would like some advize i would offer what little i know.it can be frustrating but the reards are well woprth it!!!
school life started at lawton elementry at benner and jakson sts in wissonoming n the ne.progressed on to harding jr.high.finished 9th grade.we moved to cornwells hieghts,in bensalem.went to bensalem high and could not adjust to country school.at the time i blamed everyone but me.so the bensalem paid my tuition to goto masbum vo-tech. to major in music.great school years and a great music course.i played the trumpet for 40 years.i was a weekend warrior.played everything from bach to rock.country and disco also.played most of the area's nightclubs,country clubs vfw,american legions,etc.etc. but weddings were our forte.in fact if anyone who reads this and has pictures please contact me.two of the guys went to the big gig in heaven.i promised i would put together a collage of all the pictures takn over the years for thier families.so if you have anything pertaing to the carl james quartet please let me know. thanks.
