Well, my son lucked out, I guess....he works at a school in Webster Groves, and there is no school for him today!!

Then he hears on Fox2 that his wifes school, Mason Ridge, has smoke.....but she still has to go in. I didnt hear what that was all about at Mason Ridge.

We got a generator about 2 yrs ago....the permanent kind....and we have lost power twice since getting it...but both times we were out of town....I would have liked to see what it was like during the transition from no power to generator....I am sure I will get that opportunity at some point.

Hey, check out HEC channel tomorrow nite at 8pm on Charter channel 26. My hubby will be on there....very short part...but still, he can claim he was in the same show as John Goodman!!!

I know it is a different channel....and not Fox2...but hey...its educational and about our River DesPeres.

Around a year ago there was an add in the SoCo Journal asking if anyone had any info on the building of the River DesPeres...my husband answered the add...and the info he gave was printed in the journal. A little while later, HEC channel called him and asked if he would like to be interviewed for a production they were starting that would air on that channel.

They came to our house and brought all their fancy equipmet and even the little 'action' board...how cool was that!

Well, last Wed nite at the Tivoli in the central west end...was the premiere viewing. It ended up that my husband was the only non professional interviewed in the show. Everyone else had something to do with the River DesPeres project....ecological experts and all...there was also a teacher from the New City School and his students....

This was very informative ...it explained all the way back to the original settlers in the St Louis area.

So...if you are interested in that sort of TV viewing...help my husband enjoy his 15 minutes of fame....(he wasnt even going to go to the premiere...now he has just got the biggest grin when mentioning his part!)

Oh, by the way...he is the BIG guy in the BIG chair talking about his dads role in helping build the River DesPeres while working for the WPA.......

I wonder if, at trial, they will ask the parents if they were monitoring their young dtr on the internet.

It isnt always possible to watch every minute what your children are experiencing on the internet...but, if this was going on for a while, werent there any signs? Wouldnt they notice any signs of anxiety or depression after she was on the internet? And, if there was, they should have kept her from getting on there.

That lady that was messing with the young girl...needs to get a life!! Sounds like that lady has mental problems. Why would a grown woman even think of doing such a thing to a little kid??

It just makes you wonder......

You can bet, if the situation was the other way around and the gentleman owed them taxes for 20 yrs....he would definitely have to pay them!!! With interest and penalties!!

How can the state double dip like that and get away with it??

I think they should be made to give him all he paid, back, with the interest and penalties they would have charged him if it were the other way around. Just think if he had been putting that money in the back the interest he would have made over 20 yrs.

I dont know what has happened lately, but the water around here tastes moldly! My dtr first started complaining about it tasting 'dirty' at her work in Arnold. THis week even my husband, who never notices anything out of the ordinary, started saying that our water, here in SoCo, is starting to taste moldy.  IT does!!

I love water! And that is my first choice when thirsty..but ...hey whats going on around here? You can even smell it!! There shouldnt be any flavor or odor to water...and there never used to be here in St Louis!!

This was very scarey news to me this morning! My dtr, a manager at another SNS, called me to tell me that she heard about the homicide at the Concord SNS, on Lindbergh.

She opened that store in 2001 after they rebuilt the store. My 2 sons and the wife of one of them also worked at that store years ago. We have been a SNS family since my oldest was 16 in 1991.

Supposedly 3rd shift is always manned by 2 employees.  I wonder where the other employee was at that time. There are also video cameras that face the counter and the front door.

My dtr said she is glad her store is not a 24 hr store at this point!! She opens her store and closes it into the wee hrs of the morning....and after this I will always be even more worried about her safety!!!

I saw an article on the web about L&A possibly surpassing GS as the longest running show.....AINT GONNA HAPPEN!!

As you can see by my bio...I am an avid GS fan.

L&A may beat GS in amount of years the show was on...IN NAME ONLY... the stats speak for themselves.

GS is the only longest running show with the same lead, James Arness and co-star Milburn Stone....ALL 20 YEARS.....L&A changes their leads and costars as often as I hope they change their skivvies!! So....stats-wise...I dont think any show will ever beat it!

Don't get me wrong....I love L&A....and my hubby watches the show on EVERY channel...ALL DAY LONG...except for Jeopardy and the judge shows.

So...long live GS and James Arness....!!

By the way ...Buck Taylor, Newly, from GS....comes to Branson every year at Silver Dollar City....he was just there this month for the fall festival and western days.

Check out the pic below...a couple years ago...the gentleman on the left went to Branson and mentioned to Buck Taylor, the website we all get together to discuss GS. As a real treat for all of us, Buck said 'howdy' to all of us...my name, Carm, is one of the names listed...

I am soooooo glad Melinda Doolittle is making an album!!...I feel she was the REAL AMERICAN IDOL the year she competed. She is probably THE MOST TALENTED Idol contestant ever, along with Carrie Underwood. Those two can SING!!

I work in registration at St Joseph Hosp in Kirkwood. Our hospital will be moving to Fenton the beginning of 2009. The new St Clare will have the newest in medical tehnology, and will focus on best practices and patient satisfaction and care. You can stop by and see our progress at 141 & Bowles Ave. My life is computer, day and night, for play and work. Gunsmoke, the tv show from 1955 to 1975, is my hobby. I have collected over 200 to 300 episodes of the 635 produced, plus the 5 Gunsmoke movies. 85 year old James Arness has a website where he talks to all us fans on a regular basis. But of course, Fox 2 is the best show on TV these days!!
