I am not sure where to start but one of my friends told me to write you my story and see if there is anything you can do to help me out this one time. I was even in the newsjournal last month talking about my situation. But anyway I have a 6 yr old with a high functioning autism disorder called "aspergers" and I also have a 3 month old baby boy. I have been trying for years and years to get help some kind of help for my 6 yr old with no luck and then i had this little baby in august and has been in hospital for a month trying to find out why he won't gain anything and even stuck IV's in his poor little head trying to find out exactly what was wrong with him and then my husband went to the hospital with brochotis which he thought was turning into nemonia so he couldn't work and I was in the hospital all the time with my newborn so i just totally forgot about the bills cause of everything else going on and trying to find someone help me pay the rent this one time and now thanksgiving is next week and I don't have any money for my kids to have a nice thanksgiving. I did apply for food stamps and am waiting for response from them but won't get it before thanksgiving. Someone else told me to write you and tell you my story and see if you know of any kind of help i might be able to get so my two little special kids can have some kind of thanksgiving this year. I am going to salvation army on monday to sign up to try to get them some toys for christmas this year. I have NEVER EVER asked for help like this before cause i am always the one that goes out and buys toys for tots every single year and this year has been so bad so very bad that I have to ask for toys so my 6 yr old disabled son can have some toys this year. I usually have too much pride to ask for help from anyone but my kids happiness means more than my pride right now. Thank you for your time.
I have been trying for 4 years now to get my disabled son diagnosed and all the doctors and everyone that i have taken him to will not for some reason will not give me a diagnosis on paper. They all say "possible" but I know it isn't possible i know it is fact and I am getting tired of going around in circles all the time with the school and the psychologist and doctors and not getting any where and not getting any kind of help that me and my son really desperately need.
So my friend told me to contact you and the mayor of my city and see if there is anything that you all might be able to do to help me and my son. Even my son's teacher agrees with me and told me that he has all the symptons of "aspergers" which is a high functioning autism disorder but nobody will put it on paper so the school refuses to help me cause it is not written anywhere. My son is 6 yrs old but he is only like 2 or 3 in his brain and he does not have any social skills, and he is failing 1st grade cause nobody will give him the special programs and the special help that he so desperately needs right now. He didn't talk at all till he was 4 yrs old and now he is just trying to catch up with the rest of the kids his own age.
Then I got pregnant last november and was told by the same doctor that delivered my first kid that all my first son's problems could be related to how they gave me the c-section the first time and they might have given me too many drugs and that could have caused his problems cause my first born was an emergency c-section and they had to knock me out completely and i didn't come to for 2 hours after the surgery and then I found out that both of his lungs collapsed so they had to stick tubes in both of his sides to get him to breathe and he was in ICU for almost 2 weeks cause of it and then all these other problems started after they took the tubes out. Every 6 months or so he gets bad ear infections, and he has bad eyes already and his only 6 yrs old and that stuff don't bother me as much as his asperger's disorder. I had one peditrician that came highly recommended and I went to her one time and her receptionist called me and told me that the doctor says that my kids are too complicated for her to find a new doctor cause she didn't want to see me anymore. I couldn't believe that. This woman is supposed to be a great kid doctor and then to tell me that I think that was just plain wrong!
SORRY FOR the long letter but the main reason I am writing you is because I have been trying for over 4 yrs now to get some kind of help for my son and everyone is just telling me possible this or possible that and won't sit down and give me a diagnosis on paper which I need to get him some help at school. IS there anything you can do to help me get him the help he desperately desperately needs. He comes home in the afternoon and says to me "mommy why am i different and why do the other kids call me dummy" I don't know what to tell him and it breaks my heart and he belongs to be in special classes and that is all I am looking for is for the school to find help me and my son. Thank you for your time and I pray to God that you can help me out somehow or another.
DO NOT WRITE ME IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING MEAN OR NASTY TO SAY CAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO LISTEN TO IT. BUT THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING ELSE.

this is beautiful, try not to cry.
If your going to read this, get some tissues.
She jumped up as soon as she saw
the surgeon
come out of the operating room. She said: "How is
my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can
I see him?"
The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could,
but your boy didn't make it."
Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer?
Doesn't God care any more? Where were you,
God, when my son needed you?"
The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time
alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out
in a few minutes, before he's transported to the
university."
Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she
said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly
through his thick red curly hair.
"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse
asked.
Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the
boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to
Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to
donate his body to the University for Study. He
said it might help somebody else. "I said no at
first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after
I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend
one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My
Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of
someone else. Always wanting to help others if he
could."
Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for
the last time, after spending most of the last six
months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's
belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The
drive home was difficult. It was even harder to
enter
the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings,
and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her
son's room. She started placing the model cars
and other personal things back in his room exactly
where he had always kept them. She laid down
across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried
herself to sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying
beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The
letter said:
"Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but
don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop
loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE
YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with
each day. Someday we will see each other again.
Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you
won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can
have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you
decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't
like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy
her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don't be
sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place.
Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got
here and showed me around some, but it will take
a long time to see everything. The angels are so
cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know
what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures.
Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus
himself took me to see GOD! And guess what,
Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him,
like I was somebody important. That's when I told
Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you
good-bye and everything. But I already knew that
wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God
handed me some paper and His own personal pen
to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name
of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to
you. God said for me to give you the answer to
one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He
when I needed him?' "God said He was in the
same place with me, as when His son Jesus was
on the cross. He was right there, as He always is
with all His children.
Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what
I've written except you. To everyone else this is
just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have
to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write
some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I
get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm,
sure the food will be great.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore.
The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't
stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to
see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent
The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel
said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?
Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.
(Let's see Satan stop this one.) Take 60-seconds
. Then sit back and feel the Holy Spirit
work in your life for doing what you know God
loves
"When you're down to nothing, God is up to
something."

THIS STORY MADE ME REALLY CRY!!
May your life be ever changed after reading this one....
The Doll and the Rose
I was walking around in a Target store,
when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
The Cashier said, "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll."
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,
are you sure I don't have enough money?''
The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to
buy this doll, my dear.''
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went
to look a round. She left quickly.
The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.
Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give
this doll to.
"It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for
Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her."
I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after
all, and not to worry.
But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her
where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can
give it to my sister when she goes there."
His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My Sister has gone to be
with God . Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I
thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''
My heart nearly stopped.
The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall."
Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He
then told me "I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't
forget me."
"I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister."
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.
I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. "Suppose we
check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''
"OK" he said, "I hope I do have enough." I added some of my money to
his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for
the doll and even some spare money.
The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money!"
Then he looked at me and added, "I asked last night before I went to
sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that
mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''
"I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my
mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough
to buy the doll and a white rose.''
"My mommy loves white roses."
A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my
basket.
I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I
started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.
Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which
mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
woman and a little girl.
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a
critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to
recover from the coma.
Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the
newspaper that the young woman had passed away.
I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went
to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for
people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her
hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her
chest.
I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed
forever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister
is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a
drunk driver had taken all this away from him.
The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides,
flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to
another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we
sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
For those who prefer to think that God is not watching over us....go
ahead and delete this. For the rest of us... pass this on.
" A lack of effort will always cause failure!

I AGREE WITH THIS TO SOME POINT BUT WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ABOUT THIS NEW LAW TODAY??
WASHINGTON - The House Wednesday passed what could become the first major federal gun control law in over a decade, spurred by the Virginia Tech campus killings and buttressed by National Rifle Association help.
The bill, which was passed on a voice vote, would improve state reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System to stop gun purchases by people, including criminals and those adjudicated as mentally ill, who are prohibited from possessing firearms.
Seung-Hui Cho, who in April killed 32 students and faculty at Virginia Tech before taking his own life, had been ordered to undergo outpatient mental health treatment and should have been barred from buying two guns he used in the rampage. But the state of Virginia had never forwarded this information to the national background check system.
If it moves through the Senate and is signed into law by the president, the bill would be the most important gun control act since Congress banned some assault weapons in 1994, the last year Democrats controlled the House. In 1996, Congress added people convicted of domestic violence to the list of those banned from purchasing firearms.
The bill was the outcome of weeks of negotiations between Rep. John Dingell D-Mich., the most senior member of the House and a strong supporter of gun rights, and the NRA, and in turn, with Rep. Carolyn McCarthy D-N.Y., a leading gun-control advocate.
"This is good policy that will save lives," McCarthy said.
The NRA insisted that it was not a "gun control" bill because it does not disqualify anyone currently able to legally purchase a firearm.
The NRA has always supported the NICS, said the organization's executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre. "We've always been vigilant about protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens to purchase guns, and equally vigilant about keeping the guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally defective and people who shouldn't have them."
Under a gun control act that passed in 1968, the year Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. were killed, people barred from buying guns include those convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, illegal drug users, those courts find to be mentally disabled, and illegal immigrants.
The legislation approved Wednesday would require states to automate and share disqualifying records with the
FBI's NICS database. The bill also provides $250 million a year over the next three years to help states meet those goals and imposes penalties, including cuts in federal grants under an anti-crime law, to those states that fail to meet benchmarks for automating their systems and supplying information to the NICS.
President Bush ordered to investigate the Virginia Tech shootings prepared to make recommendations on ways the federal government can prevent such tragedies.
Also on Wednesday, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine said that in ordering state executive branch agencies to upgrade background check reporting last month he had found that Virginia was one of only 22 states reporting any mental health information to the NICS. Kaine, a Democrat, said the House bill was "significant action to honor the memories of the victims who lost their lives at Virginia Tech."
The NRA did win some concessions in negotiating the final product.
It would automatically restore the purchasing rights of veterans who were diagnosed with mental problems as part of the process of obtaining disability benefits. LaPierre said the Clinton administration put about 80,000 such veterans into the background check system.
It also outlines an appeals process for those who feel they have been wrongfully included in the system and ensures that funds allocated to improve the NICS are not used for other gun control purposes.
Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said his group supported the legislation and he hoped Congress would go a step further and extend background checks to all gun sales, not just those licensed dealers covered by current law.
Carthy, in an emotional speech, said that "this has been a long, long journey for me." She ran for Congress on a gun control agenda after her husband was gunned down on a Long Island commuter train in 1993.
I truly believe that if this law happened just 2 months ago, all those wonderful kids at Virginia Tech would still be alive today. Nobody should be able to get a gun if they have any kind of medical condition like that kid had. Let me know what you all think about this new law
AND FOR PEOPLE THAT KNOW ME ON HERE, DON'T WORRY I WILL NOT DELETE NOTHING THIS TIME I PROMISE ( LOL )

I posted something here a few days ago that WAS NOT true and didn't know it and it caused a lot of problems and this story I actually checked on www.scopes.com and found out that this is FALSE so if anyone tells you this or you get an email like this DO NOT believe it
This is how Sheryl Crow got breast cancer she was on the Ellen show and
She said this same exact thing.
So please be very careful ladies.
Drinking Bottled Water Kept in Car....a friend whose mother recently got
diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctor told her: women should not
drink bottled water that has been left in a car. The doctor said that
the heat and the plastic of the bottle have certain chemicals that can
lead to breast cancer. So please be careful and do not drink that water
bottle that has been left in a car and pass this on to all the women in
your life. This information is the kind we need to know and be aware and
just might save us!!!! The heat causes toxins from the plastic to leak
into the water and they have found these toxins in breast tissue. Use a
stainless steel Canteen or a glass bottle when you can!!!

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.
"Your son is here," she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.
Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.
The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.
Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.
Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.
Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her. "Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered. "No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."
"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"
"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his
son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."
The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

I COULDN'T RESIST THIS, I HAD TO POST IT
Giving up Wine
I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly
dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, "If I give you this
money, will you buy some wine with it instead of dinner?"
"No, I had to stop drinking years ago", the homeless woman told me.
"Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?" I asked.
"No, I don't waste time shopping," the homeless woman said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."
"Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?" I asked.
"Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless woman. "I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!"
"Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight."
The homeless Woman was shocked. "Won't your husband be furious with you
for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting."
I said, "That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine."

I EVEN CHECKED THIS OUT ON www.snopes.com TO MAKE SURE IT WAS FOR REAL
For those of you with or around kids!
http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/sanitizer.asp
Where to begin ........because the last 2 days of my life have been such a blur. Yesterday, My youngest daughter Halle who is 4,was rushed to the emergency room by her father for being severelylethargic and incoherent. He was called to her school by the schoolsecretary for beingvery VERY sick.' He told me that when he arrived that Halle was barelysitting in the chair. She couldn't hold her own head up and when he
looked into her eyes, she couldn't focus them.He immediately called me after
he scooped her up and rushed her to the ER.
When we got there, they ran blood test after blood test and did x-rays,every test imaginable. Her white blood cell count was normal, nothing was out of the ordinary. The ER doctor told us that he had done everything that he could do so he was sending her to Saint Francis for further test. Right when we were leaving in the ambulance, her teacher had come to the ER and after questioning Halle 's classmates, we found out that she hadlickedhand sanitizer off her hand. Hand sanitizer, of all things. But it makes sense. These days they have all kinds of different scents and when youhave a curious child, they are going to put all kinds of things in their mouths.
When we arrived at Saint Francis, we told the ER doctor there to check her blood alcohol level, which, yes we did get weird looks from it but they did it. The results were her blood alcohol level was 85% and this was 6 hoursafter we first took her. There's no telling what it would have been if we would have tested it at the first ER.Since then, her school and a fewsurrounding schools have taken this out of the classrooms of all the lower grade classes but what's to stop middle and high schoolers too? After doing research off the internet, we have foundout that it only takes 3 squirts of the stuff to be fatal in a toddler.
Forher blood alcohol level to be so high was to compare someone her size

A song called "Press One for English" offended many audience members, including elected officials at a law enforcement awards banquet in Plant City.
Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White said the song's lyrics contained anti-immigrant themes and urged non-English speakers to leave the United States.
The song was performed by a Kentucky-based husband and wife duet called The Rivoli Revue. They were hired as entertainment for Tuesday's East Hillsborough Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner.
Doug Gibbs, the treasurer of the committee that organized the dinner, said he's sorry that the performance overshadowed a worthy cause. Gibbs told the St. Petersburg Times he never heard the song and apologized if it offended anyone.
The Rivoli Revue could not be reached for comment.
