This is really a poor concept, we are in shambles and war due to not enough religion but then some religions try to controll and sway us from time to time with politics. I think man will always  utilize self will and interest when it comes to anything and most things in life no matter what position he/holds. I use to listen to Focus on the family daily, but during the presidential election, it had became more political than than what i was tired of seeing on the television.  If the majority ruling was any certain faction of christianity and influenced political main stream we would have all kind of no good people in office based on which one rubs those christian factors the right way.

I am a christian of non denominational choice because the seperatism of religion is going to be the biggest factor to send most to hell.  I think the Burke was out of line, and had his feelings in the wrong place. Because he couldnt get his way, he gave up on the kids?  Why didnt they give up on the priest but instead they started transferring and hidding priest that took advantage of thousands upon thousands of kids?  He can give up on them because some one who is raising money for them dont share his same views, give me a freakin break.

Christians are suppose to let the bible and their beliefs tell them what to do every minute of everyday. you can't just be a sunday christian. He doesn't want to be yoked with someone that doesn't believe the way he believes. God will take care of these children, give him some credit, do you think he needs our money to heal these children. But I know he wants us to be charitable so you can give the money to the hospital and eliminate the middleman. My money will not pay for her booze she has to have at every concert. I wouldn't go if they were giving tickets away, but I still can give to the hospital.

devas_yb_ecarg - i do understand and thats truely your choice in not patronizing her concerts, but some catholics use real wine in communion, isnt that booze? lets keep it real now. At least she is coming back to her roots and giving back, not that i would go to a concert of hers, but what the harm in giving, God loves a charitable and cheerful giver, right? What she does in her free time before or after her giving is up to her and her God not for us to judge, he is the only one who sits high and judges below. her heart might be just as good as those who agree with what Burke has set as his standard and he himself also.

devas-do you really think that the money given for these sick kids is going for her booze? I think she has anough money to buy her own booze. and if so how do you know that fure sure?

I am not Catholic and I don't drink and when I take the Lord's supper it is grape Juice (New Wine in the Bible). He is not stopping the concert he just doesn't want to be associated with her. I don't want anyone to associate me with an abortionist, because I don't believe in it. Christians are going to have to stand up for what they believe in. Christ was critized for the things he said. The people that he associated with changed their ways and followed him even the tax collector or they wouldn't have associated with Christ. We shouldn't stand and let people tell us what we should believe and not believe. I do not have to be associate with Sheryl Crow to be charitable. Why is she being so good to children that could have been aborted if she had her way.

I have nothing in common with an abortionist so why would I associate with them, I have noting in common with anyone that does things I don't believe in so why would they want me around because I would try to change them.

The bishop wants everyone to listen to what he has to say, but he does not respect other people's opinions.

He thinks," If you don't play like I want to play the game, I will just quit.

you don't get it, He is a priest he has to answer to God and that is the only opinion he has to accept, Man's opinion doesn't count. That is the way all pastors are because they have to answer to God, they can't except an opinion that is not from God or God's word.

quote:Why is she being so good to children that could have been aborted if she had her way./endquote

so now just because she is pro choice, that means she wants all children aborted, and thinks all children that exist today should have been aborted?give me a break.that is about juvenile rationale if i ever heard it.
not only that, but not every religion,or everyone believes the bible to be literary, follow it all you want, but not everyone does, nor are they wrong for not doing so.

If AB Burke wants to believe a certain way, he has the right to do so, but PLEASE don't make any of the children pay for his beliefs. I hope that AB Burke will donate his money to the cause. What I say is as long as the children benefit and are helped, that's the main issue here.

I will ask this blog. Hypothetically,if Sheryl Crow backed out of the concert yet made a huge monetary donation, would they accept it, since it's coming from such a horrible person?

Don't be naive. You don't associate with abortionists or people who don't live up to your beliefs, be real, you don't know what goes on in your neighbors house. You may be very best friends with someone who has had an abortion and you just don't know it, or God forbid something worse.

Agree with you, oldasthesuperbowl. I'm willing to bet they'd accept a huge monetary donation. And, if they didn't, they would ONLY be hurting the CHILDREN. Also, you are right. You NEVER really know what people do behind closed doors.

Again, I say, everyone has a right to their own beliefs, but sometimes we have to put our beliefs aside to help a worthy cause.

You seem to be allover Cheryl Crow because of booze. I know of no other church that has booze as a part of almost every church function. Some of the heaviest drinkers I know are Catholic. If you are going to dis Cheryl about her beliefs on abortion and stem cell research, thats on thing. But don't get allover her about booze and not the church for their stance on booze, whats wrong for one is wrong for all.

You have twisted my words I am just saying that some of your donated that is suppose to go to the children will go to pay for her drinking. I am not catholic and I do not drink, but Burke is pulling out because his doesn't believe what Sherly Crow believes. She believes in murdering unborn children.

I am confused~~Are you really saying some of the money raised tomorrow, that should be only going to the children,"will go to pay for her drinking (Crow's)? That is what you stated in your last post.

Yes, who is going to pay for the amenities in her dressing room that she demands at every concert. Part of your donation will pay for that and the rest will go to the hospital. The same way with United Way all your donations do not go to the needed only about 10% the rest go for paper work everything else for the operation of United Way.

When it comes to Sheryl Crow's touring requirements, if it's Tuesday, this must be Bombay. Gin that is. The rock star's performance contract includes specific day-to-day instructions on what kind of booze Sheryl needs in her dressing room (TSG has never seen such attention to detail in any other concert rider we've posted). For each show, Crow requires 12 bottles of Grolsch beer, 6 bottles of "local" beer, and a bottle each of "good Australian Cabernet" and "good Merlot." As for the harder stuff, promoters are directed to purchase specific booze depending on what day of the week the concert falls,

She is donating her time, I doubt VERY much that she is going to demand anything. You are getting confused between a "paid" gig and a "charity" function.

...and... all this has done is make the concert more publicized and now more people will attend and thus more/larger donations will be made : )

Love jazz and watching Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, Top Model, Maury (peternity shows), Judge Mathis and Divorce Court. At the top of this list, I love listening to a good sermon forever increasing my faith in the Lord. Also as you can see, I'm a reality type of girl and on the that topic, make the most of every moment you have with your friends and loved ones it might be your last time in their presence. Memories last a life time while material things come and go.
