How much relevance do you put in statics being accurate?  My thoughts are as big as the USA is and has grown culturally, statistics seem to be based heavily on Black and White?  Why is this such an issue? What is your opinion on this when there are so many other variations of people here from other countries that are out growing these main two races?

I am so glad you brought this up.
Firstly, I don't get the relevance. People are people, why do we continue to divide them into races; can't we just say: there are this many children who don't finish highschool or this many people in prison--why does it break down into race?
Secondly, I know very few people who are A race. I know tons of people who are many races. I can count 8 in my bloodline and an additional 4 in my boys'. My boys could check every box on one of those race things.
What's the point?

What if you are of a mixed race. What box should we check? I think the statistics are biased. They place to much emphasis on the white race if its something good and the black race if its something bad. However these races are slowly coming together as one since imigration has been allowed. I hope I said that right as I am far from being racist.

A statistic is just data gathered and the data can be manipulated to show what it is you are desiring to show. What I find interesting is what the data doesn't really show.

I used to work for Nielsen Media Research (the ratings people). It was my job to see to it that the demographics for the St. Louis and Kansas City Metered Markets were within the guidelines. We had to maintain within the age, family unit, race, and county/city for the percentage within the population of the region. I was able to keep the demographics aligned, but truthfully, the demographics lied. Why? Because there are not enough people that really cared to participate. So, while those with a lower income participated quite often, those with a higher income refused to because they were afraid of us connecting to their equipment. So, people want to know why there is a dumbing down of America, I feel it is due to those who really should have their voices heard refusing to be heard through participation.

This is not an issue with me......The world is changing....but there are a few individuals (wont mention names) that wont let these issues die.....9 kids from 9 different countrys will play together and have a blast until someone tells them that they are different.....So who is really different?????

I agree with all of you. I feel things that America has been stuck on doing for so long to divide instead of bring together all nationalities really need to change. This statistic thing is very bias and feeds negativity to those who believe in them.

Love jazz and watching Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, Top Model, Maury (peternity shows), Judge Mathis and Divorce Court. At the top of this list, I love listening to a good sermon forever increasing my faith in the Lord. Also as you can see, I'm a reality type of girl and on the that topic, make the most of every moment you have with your friends and loved ones it might be your last time in their presence. Memories last a life time while material things come and go.
