carmellion,

I returned to school in 2003 to complete my bachelors degree. I attended UOP online and loved it. I worked full time, taking over as Executive Director during classes, and made lots of time for my family. I think doing the online courses was best suited for me as the courses were 5 or 6 weeks, followed by a week off (and time off at the holidays), which allowed me to schedule special family events during that time, though I went on a week long vacation to Vegas while in class.

It is difficult, but then I am a perfectionist with my papers and UOP was all paper driven. I had 3 wonderful women who were my teammates by choice in the majority of my courses, which made it much easier to complete the team assignments. It took some doing, but we managed to get our schedules aligned so we could work together and our instructors were nice enough to allow us to be on the same teams. We have also visited one another including a girls weekend in Florida to attend a Tampa Bay/Kansas City football game.

As you have more control over your schedule, I do suggest the online courses, but there are many out there, just make sure you check them out thoroughly. And good luck!

The Online classed just would not hold my attention.....I recently took a few College classes becaouse I still needed a few hours to Qulify to be a Substitute Teacher......I took Psychology and Pottery....what a combo...But I need the people and the classroom antics to keep my attention....your computer wont crack a joke or even smile at you....I made an A and an B in my most recent classes.

mr_wildflower - That had to be hard, its hard enough tryiing to stay awake in a normal class setting at the end of the day.

Yes, carmellion, some like it for the convenience, some dislike it for the requirements. I find it much more flexible than the face to face courses and much more challenging. I am not a test taker (memorization) so I loved not having to test, but instead to do papers (lots of papers). I graduated with my BSB/M with a 3.98 GPA and I felt much better about the quality than I did at the community college, though at the cc I was really active on campus.

Good Luck!

Love jazz and watching Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, Top Model, Maury (peternity shows), Judge Mathis and Divorce Court. At the top of this list, I love listening to a good sermon forever increasing my faith in the Lord. Also as you can see, I'm a reality type of girl and on the that topic, make the most of every moment you have with your friends and loved ones it might be your last time in their presence. Memories last a life time while material things come and go.
