i personally think this is a war that they are fighting amongst themselves (Iraqui's) i have a brother thats in iraq for the 3rd time this war and i have had the experience for the last 3 years of having the pit of my stomach drop out each time he had to go back. he is in transportation, one of the worst jobs, but there is not one good position over there. its a war we wont win and we need to get our men and women out of that aweful hell hole.....

Since you have had a brother over there three times....can you give us some insight as to what he had to say about the situation. I guess it would matter, where he was exactly and what his job duties were. But he should have a much better perspective than us because all we have is what the media tells us, unless we talk to someone that has been there like you.

my brother is in the U.S. Marine Corps. his fist tour was in Al-Asad, then the hot spot of Bagdad and now he is in the dessert somewhere close to Al-Asad again. he cant give us much detail because of the nature of his job. i think most of it, is him trying to ease us of worry. but he in charge of transportation and sometimes when we didnt hear from him, he let us know later he had to go out with his caravan to deliver food, amunition, mail and other needs of the troops. maybe once he gets out, he'll discuss more about his experience there. he is due to retire in June of this year. last year he was given a Proclamaition by Mayer Slay, Senator Clay and the Govenor. so he has 3 days in the spring named after him. we thought it would be his last time, but he was back again at the end of the summer. Please every, be in prayer with us as we await his safe return once again as well as the others cought up in that horrible Civil War....

grandpajohn - you got it! this is strictly a Civil war, them fighting amongst themselves and we thought we'd sneak in the back door and controll the oil and act as if we were interested in settle things for them, but man someone is going to pay royally for this one... i pray for all the troops on a consistant basis....

I'm in support of us being in Iraq and think that we would do well to remember that lobbying bombs was not the answer. We put boots on the ground in the middle east and plant the virus of freedom their. Americans smile alot... we are a happy people. Our soldiers sailors and marines are their on the ground giving a troubled middle east nation a taste of something that we take for granted here.

This thirst for freedom through strong central and democratic government is bought and paid for with the blood of patriots... over 3000 so far. And if Vietnam taught us nothing it did stop the onset of Russian and Chinese Communist aggression. Look at Vietnam now...

No, I think it was the right choice to send boot and not cruise missles. And the men and women in those boots are planting the virus of freedom in a people who may have lost such hope.

statueman - while i understand your point of view, to fight for their freedom and democracy is not why we are there in the first place, you must know that. and further more, we cant go pushing democracy on everyone because its our way, its not working that great here, although i love that our country isnt in such shambles as other places, but thats what a lot of countries are acustomed to, what makes our way so right when we are oppressing some races here in America, but we want to push democracy off on other countries as if we have our crap together. there is a civil war thats going on there and has been for centuries. it wont change unless they want change.

sis, I honestly thought this was his 5th tour, but either way, many are losing their lives every day and for what? Do we even remember what the war is about? And the soliders seem to get younger and younger. How do you explain to a young child that their teenaged parent is dead because of a war no one seems to believe in anymore?

Love jazz and watching Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, Top Model, Maury (peternity shows), Judge Mathis and Divorce Court. At the top of this list, I love listening to a good sermon forever increasing my faith in the Lord. Also as you can see, I'm a reality type of girl and on the that topic, make the most of every moment you have with your friends and loved ones it might be your last time in their presence. Memories last a life time while material things come and go.
