This may sound insensitive but here is my rant on researchers of SIDS. Every few months they have some new "way" to "prevent" SIDS. Like today's story the connection between SIDS and a pacifier. They claim it is a connection. I say coincidence. Lets take a moment to define SIDS. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome a syndrome in which the infant dies without any reason what so ever. If they knew what caused SIDS it wouldn't be called SIDS. All this petty research is a waste of time and only serves to add more worry to a mother.

Hey researchers when you actually have something viable about SIDS instead of circumstantial evidence give the news stations a ring. Let us be honest you have no clue what causes or prevents SIDS.

I agree. It is worrysome and aggravating to see reports that actually do nothing but worry people further without any real proof of anything that was said.

with my first son it was lay them on stomach then with daughter it was lay them on side, then with last son it was lay on back
they need to make up their minds or admit they do not know, it is a coincidence, something that just happens sadly. no one is to blame. i got to point where my kids slept the way they were comfortable and would go to sleep. science will not just take coincidence or " stuff happens" as an answer, they have to have a reason for everything even if they have to make it up!

Researchures get money from the gov't, our money, to find out things, and they make money and have jobs so we the tax payer actually pay to get us worried about things, My dad always said if it's your time to go, it's your time to go, our lives are destined from the moment we are concieved peroid.

My son is 21 years old and I laid him on his stomach and I am 39years old, I survived, my husband is 60yrs old he is alive, my oldest uncle is 75yrs old and he was laid on his stomach...what gives here? I tell you mom's have been raising babies since the day of time. Now all this new ideas are coming out and you have to do it this way and do it that way. If a woman has maternal insticnt go for it. IF you don't then you may ask. These new moms who are doing everything like the dr. says, good luck. Your baby is going to survive if you love, feed bath them. They will be okay. SIDS, I agree with you butterflykisses. Sad, this world is really messed up and new studies come out everyday. Lets worry more about MS, diabetes, cancer, HIV..Yes, kids are important do what feels natural to you as a mom. Come on have common sense already.
