I had to take a trip to Lew Sterrett Court House building, this past week.
Finding parking just across the street, in a semi fenced area, during the day, You would think, that one would be fairly safe?
Well driving into the lot, after paying the fee, as my daughter and I,were driving to a space, a man, dressed in tatty dirty clothes, with zipper down walked up to the car, asking could he talk to us. We said NO ! He moved on to another car, entering the lot.
Walking to the ticket booth, I advised the person there of the man in the lot, accosting people. He looked and kept taking monney, doing nothing. Walking across the street and up the ramp being used during construction, we were again accosted by homeless people with their hands out, asking for money.
The same man was in the lot on the way out, the same people asking for money at the ramp.
Why is this allowed to happen, in a place where there should be some type, of what one would consider proctection.
And the city is worried about what to name the street this courthouse/jail sits on.

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take
her someplace expensive.....so, I took her to a gas
station..... and that's how the fight started....
I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller
Light for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for
$7.95. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than
the cold cream....... And that's how the fight started.
After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to
apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked me
for my driver's license to verify my age. I looked in my
pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home. I told the woman
that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back
later. The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'. So I
opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair. She said,
'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security
application. When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the
Social Security office. She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You
might have gotten disability, too'...... And that's how the fight
started.....
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school
reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as
she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asked, 'Do you know
her?' 'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand
she took to drinking right after we split u p those many years
ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.' 'My God!' says my wife, 'Who
would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'...... And that's
how the fight started.....
I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were
alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his
car. You know how sometimes you just get soooo stressed and little things
just seem funny? Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... he was a
DWARF!!! He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and
shouted, 'I AM NOT HAPPY!!!' So, I looked down at him and said, 'Well,
then which one are you?'....... And that's how the fight started.....
I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some
reason, took my order first. 'I'll have the strip steak,
medium rare, please.' He said, 'Aren't you worried about
the mad cow?' 'Nah, she can order for herself.'...... And that's how
the fight started.....

Just a tidbit, found on the RR News section
Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
The disclosure about Onyango came just one day after Obama's presidential campaign confirmed to the Times of London that Onyango, who has lived quietly in public housing in South Boston for five years, was Obama's half aunt on his father's side.
It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.

I was having a disagreement with a fellow employee at work this morning.
His son is a cyclist, one of those that seems to invade the roads, on warm weather days.
I am all for cycling, up to a point.
It seems, that they think it is ok to take over a road, used for motorized vehicles, and not have to obey the same laws that motorized vehicles do, that they have the same rights as cars on the roads.
If so then should they not have to have a license, for bicycles?
I made an example of the smaller 2 lane roads, that 5or 6 cyclists, or more, will take up one lne in either direction, and that when cars, build up behind them, they don't move over, to let the motorists pass.
Now if the speed limit on most of these smaller roads is 35,at the least, why should they not have to move over, and or stop and let motorized traffic through?
If cyclists are to use normal roads, Ifeel they should have lanes for bicycles.

I am around schools everyday of the week, and have noticed youngboys with tatoos, on their arms and necks.
I am presuming parents are allowing these kids to get these tatoos, because, you have to have parent's consent to get a tot if you are underage.
What I am wondering is why a parent would let an underage child get a tatoo, and are the rules at schools allowing these?

Vague allegations of racism in and around Dallas City Hall have turned into very pointed personal attacks questioning the racial intent of individuals.
The controversy swirls around one four-letter word used by a planning commissioner during the debate over whether to rename Ross Avenue for Cesar Chavez.
Last week, city planning commissioner Neil Emmons said, "I, speaking only for myself, believe there are dark racist forces in this building."
On Wednesday, a Dallas resident who addressed the council said something similar: "I am here to ask this city council to help us dissipate this dark cloud of racism."
The use of the word "dark" twice in one week was too much for Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway.

I was just looking at some of the balloons from the Plano balloon fest, and remembering the beautiful mornings, when Mesquite had a balloon fest. The early mornings, listening to the ballons heat up and fill with hot air. The colors that filled the air like a rainbow explosion. How sad we don't have that anymore.
We also don't have the fireworks show anymore.
Now we have a bike ride, and the Real Texas festival. People come from all over to see those, or do they?
I have heard rumors that the rodeo will go by the wayside as well, but that seemed to go downhill as soon as they enclosed it, and the real cowboys went elsewhere.
Sad all these things have been let go.

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey were critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane went off a runway and crashed on a nearby road, she said.
Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia.

I was talking to a woman at work today, about the canidates.
She said that Sarah Paulin should not be elected, as she had children, and if her baby got sick, she would go into "Mommy Mode" and not be able to run the country.
I had to bite my tongue, and then reminded her that Sarah was Govenor of Alaska, and had kids, and that baby while in office.
I also reminded her that Hillary had a daughter and was voted into office.
I am still reeling over the thought of "Mommy Mode"

I was raised Catholic, and never in my many years did I ever use a rosary for a necklace.
They are prayer beads, used for prayer and meditation. They are not necklaces.
Those worn as necklaces, are gang symbols, and if parents don't know they have their heads in the sand. How many of these kids wearing rosarys, as neckaces, are Catholic?
I am not sure, when this became the in gang symbol, or part of the package, but kids started coming in my store wearing them, I would ask them if they knew what the rosary was, were they Catholic? Most would say no to each question, so I asked them to please respect my faith, and place them inside their shirts, when in my store. Tehy did that, and as long as they respected me, I respected them.

Again on the news, evacuees from the hurricane, staying at hotels. This time in Las Colinas. I can barely afford to drive through Las Colinas!
Are these hotels set up for evacuees? Are they told to go to these hotels and spend their money ? Does FEMA tell them to go there and they will be paid back?
Do they stay in them until all their money is gone(so they say) and then surprise the hotel management, saying the Fema will pay for them?
I would love to so understand, when FREE transport, and FREE shelters are set up, why do people still want to get over?
Why is this allowed?
