I am an Independent who just like those coveted super delegates is holding out to see...........well I didn't think I would see what I did see!!!
I have long admired Hillary Rodham Clinton.  I knew she was a forceful dynamic woman the kind that would be good in politics. Educated, politically  well seasoned (Just a little too much pepper).  I went into the beginning of the Primary with a fair watchful eye.  I wanted to hold off before committing.
It wasn't until she arrived at Pennsylvania that I got to see a more uglier side to this show.  Why would anyone who had a state sewn up like Pennsylvania want to spread rumors about Barack Obama and completely ignore John McCain?. Someone we should be looking at very carefully!!   I am.
I went to a few political functions etc.  and there as an educated person I began to hear some awful things.....really bad things that no one should be spreading. I knew some of this smelled, what shocked me is the people who bought it.
The press has been using the term uneducated blue collar workers, which is very tactful. Does that mean if you vote for Hillary you are stupid???  If your vote for Barack your smart? I did not like this at all.
Someone told us that Barack Obama would put all of us white people back into slavery and he would use the National Guard to do it.  What???  I heard it at two different polling places in two different counties.  I think we better look at the Constitution again folks?  I don't think anyone can do that anymore!!!!!!!!
Mr. Obama is a Muslim not a Christian and he will support terrorists. He just goes to a Christian church for a smoke screen.   What?  23 years is a long time to be faking it.
I then tuned into Mr. Obama's speech here in Philadelphia.  He was marvelous.  I liked him despite what I had been hearing.
I then began to notice the shrill, nasty insinuations directed at this man and have my doubts where they had been directed from.  No,, it couldn't be the Hillary camp?  No one would cut a fellow party member down like that!!!!!!
There is more, but........I think I have said enough.  It is not fair we were exposed to these lies.
Yesterday, when the vote decided Michigan and Florida would be participating in the Delegate Convention, I was glad, although those states had their hands slapped for a reason.
Now, I have to hear  Hillary Democrats completely try to by-pass a process which could not have been easy for those committee members to decide and like spoiled children who did not get their way, throw a temper tantrum.I was completely ashamed of the way the Hillary supporters were rude and disrespectful to people who had the floor.  Speaking of rules, there is a process set up for these meetings and when the chair has to use the gavel, that is bad!!!
I have to listen to CNN and the press talk and pick and tear apart what was said until I want to upchuck.  I am a caring American citizen, but....this goes beyond what we need.......Enough Mr. Ickes  STOP......you and who you represent are way out of line.
We need a good, honest decent Man/woman to be our leader. One who does not spread lies, make deals, sell out and generally start wars that are not in our best interest.  This is not a high school locker room!! This is the future of our country and you are destroying the honesty of the process.  You cannot stack the votes....you cannot lie to people and spread rumors without someone noticing....and shame on you for hunting down the poor, disadvantaged uneducated to suit your purpose.  SHAME ON YOU!!!
The Republicans are jumping for joy Democrats!!!!  Breaking out the wine and cheese at the Country Club as we scratch our befuddled heads.
We do not need someone who would go at great length to destroy a I USE THE TERM PARTY NOT PERSON that by all rights should WIN in the election.  What selfish.............self serving people you are!!!!
You ruined the election all for a win at all cost..........stupid, stupid!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you ever stop to think that it might be better to work together Democrats?  Duh?  Huh????.

See that web address, go there and read. There is a lot of his past that needs to be looked at. As for you comment 23 years for faking. Do some reading about the KGB and there American citys for traning and how long they had people doing this. If the cause is just and the people believe in the cause people will do a lot to achieave there goals. AKA these are the same people WHO strap bombs to them self and walk in to areas and kill them self. You think pretending for 23 years is imposable to undermined us? I am not saying he is or isn't. But for me I would rather vote on the side of caution and and it is not the prez we need changed. We need the congressmen and Senators changes. Our problems are from the crap they putting into laws. EPA is a joke, Law's are a joke. IRS is a Joke. Term limits need to be added to all areas.

Yeah I agree it's a joke. Thank you for your comment.

I have done some extensive reading and I am still posing the question, where did these rumors come from?????
I do not think I made myself clear when I wrote this article. I wasn't hero worshipig Barack Obama. I was attending some political functions where I heard some things that were questionable as to their truth. A person's reputation should not be ruined because you do not like him?? Or he is of a different color!!

Can he do the job??? Is he really a terrorist? That seems a very harsh judgement. In my book this is serious businss.

I was questioning some unfounded rumors which I found mean and unjust. I was not able to substantiate these statements as truth and link them as actual proven fact. I heard these at campaign functions ot out in the street.

They had no place being spoken there, that is my point. Especially unproven rumor.

Being ex-military I have observed firsthand what determined terrorists are capable of. I have also witnessed their hatred of the United States and their contempt for our ways. I was overseas, we are not liked in certain countries. We are are not taken seriously!!

I think the present administration has done much harm to us in opening up the doors to let terrorists into America and should be stopped. So I am leaning towards the Democrats to change America.

That why I would like a level head when I make a decision.

I still would like believe our Contitution protects us from terroristic opportunists.

To Jheater909
So because Rev. Wright expressed in anger from the snippet of the sermon you saw on tv, "GD America", constitues him as a terrorist. Did he bomb any people or buildings? Did he have people in his congregation bomb any people or buildings? If you'd watch that sermon in its entirety, is was done on the aftermath of 9-11.
Rev. Wright was angry and hurt like a lot of Americans. He couldn't understand, how some of our fellow americans would allow terrorists to come to this country, be taught how to fly our jets by us without wanting to learn how to land them for the sake of the dollar. That in itself is selling out our country. Those americans were just as responsible for over 6,000 deaths as Osama Bin Laden. I to GD America as many other citizens of this country when I'm angry with this country. When the young man in NY a few years ago was stopped by the police and was reaching for his wallet to show ID, he was shot over 50 times. When the young man last year was leaving his bachelor party with his friends, was shot up in his car with over 50 bullets. I said in anger, GD America. Did I go out and set off bombs or kill anyone? NO, I was just angry how things like this happens in our country. Maybe nothing in this country angers you but some things do anger some people in this country. Does that mean we "HATE America, NO. We're just expressing our anger through words. I didn't know that was a crime. You stated, "And how could "HE" sit in a church like Rev. Wrights"? Because every sermon that Rev. Wright preached was not about damming America. The

contd. The particular sermon you're relating to was on the aftermath of 9-11. He was angry and hurt like a lot of us. You said, how could "HE" sit up in a church like that for 23 years? Easy. Rev. Wright has and does a lot for his community and for poor people. That's what counts more than words said in anger. Would Sen. Obama make an excellent president? By all means YES. I know one thing for sure, he's not a liar and war mongrel like President Bush. And on top of that, he has way more intelligence than Bush would ever achieve in a lifetime. Laura Bush should of been president. She makes more sense than her idiot, lying husband who has caused the death of over 4,000 and 32,000 wounded soldiers. He and his administration should be brought up on charges for crimes of war. From your comments, you appear to be a very closed-minded person. I bet you believe Bush is one of the best Presidents in the United States. All I can say to you is um, um, um....

Thank you for your very heartfelt and interesting opinion....I guess taking a speech out of context is making my point on how rumors are started...they start by not speaking the whole truth. Or pulling something someone said or did and completely changing the meaning.

artphilfree,
EXACTLY. Some people just want to have a reason to hate, that's all. I just get so fed up with all this hate and bigotry in this country. This election has brought out the ugliness in some people. I'm an African American woman and what I would love to see in this country, is hate and bigotry a thing of the past. And that goes for both whites and blacks. Some things in the past will never be forgotten and are painful for a lot of people. No matter how angry we are about them, we can't change the past. We have to somehow in our hearts and minds learn to live with it and not let it comsume us. It's time we start healing these wounds and learn to move on to make this a better America. I know I will certainly get some negative feedback. It will come from those who want bigotry and hatred to live forever.

Dear Mommareenie,

What a great world it would be if we didn't have hatred and bigotry. If EVERYONE had religious freedom.

Everyone has their own story.. Women with women's rights.

Black women and rights...... I can't even imagine!

I am German and when we came over in the 1890, people looked down on the Germans. Italians.......too! the bad part came for us Germans during WWI and II my Grandfather had tomatoes and rotten vegetables thrown at him when people found out he was German... he got called all sorts of names.....the odd part is he enlisted WWI for the Americans even though he was of German heritage....he's serving our country and people are throwing things at him!!! It's still going on.

My Family in Germany....well some of them disappeared. Hitler was an evil leader. He took hatred and bigotry to a new level of fear.

Our country as free as we like to claim we are... and we do not practice what we preach.

I do not know where the rumors came from....but I think some of them were made up. I think it is shameful.

Yep, hate and bigotry of all races and religions and yet the one thing that all human beings have in common, we're ALL human beings. Some of us may talk different, look different, cultures different, but if each of us pricked our fingers, we all have the same color blood.

I am not a native of Philadelphia, but I have grown to love living here, Philadelphia. I have discovered so many cultural and fun events here that are unique and I feel Philly is a well hidden tourist spot to visit. Reports do not do it justice, we only hear the negative, not the positive. There are some great people living here in Philly. I have my own small business. I have a B.S. in Education. I joined this site because I am concerned about Philadelphia and World events politically speaking. I would like to hear what other people are thinking and share ideas and opinions.
