Really!
Mine’s vacuuming and doing dishes.
Strange huh?
Here’s a little background…
Almost 7 years ago my wife ruptured a disk in her back and, long story short, multiple surgeries and treatments have left her mostly unable to do everyday things. So I end up doing the majority of the household stuff. So tonight as I’m doing my “chores” I’m thinking, “I wonder if other men who perform the mundane tasks around the house think the same way I do?”
Vacuuming: Instant gratification. Piece of something on the carpet? Now you see it, now you don’t. And with the right technique, you get those little triangle shaped dealies in a pattern. Just like at the hotel!

Dishwashing: Now don’t get me wrong here. I’m not one of those Palmolive chicks, soaking dishes and looking dreamily out the window at the neighborhood. I’m talking Bosch dishwasher. Quick rinse, squirt some detergent, and off to the races. 5 minutes, tops. Sink’s clear, stove’s clear, looks like nobody’s been here.

Now apparently wiping counters and dusting I’m not so good at. So I’ve been told. Well you can’t be good at everything, right?

Posted in the entertainment section, good choice. I live alone, Except for Domino's I do most of the cooking. I enjoy washing dishes, yet sometimes it is negotiable with myself. Floor care is vacuum, sweep and mop. As for dusting I have a huge craftsman air compressor and wait for spring. Have always been proud to be helpful around the house. I would love to cook and clean for an Angel, another if she were here and sick or feeling ill, injured. Today I have all the resposibility, someday it will be shared. For now I enjoy the things I have to do, so I can have the things I want to do.

anaconda-dan, your a good man, and a good husband. Be proud my friend.

I have a theory relating to housework. If I love you I need to show it. Why would I sit on the couch alone, glued to the TV while the one I love is in the kitchen doing dishes, alone. If I help with the dishes and the task is quickly done, me and my love can be on the couch as one. How sad for a woman to feel that a TV receives more attention and affection than she. Time apart has equal value as time together, please dont get me wrong. There are ways to have more time together through helping, that's all.

Is it possible to have too many hobbies? A healthy balance of ones life say's NO.

I am Italian. I love to cook for the people I care about. There's just nothing like the look on a person's face as they grab their bellies and thank you for another delicious meal. Makes me feel great. I put a lot of love into my food.

Me, I do a mean steak on a barbeque, love to make stews and chili's the old fashioned way. Also enjoy making lemon chicken or stir fry in a wok. And don't mind taking the time to dial domino's or pizza hut as well. OK, now I got myself hungry, thanks TT and MDA michelle. (note to self: call domino's)

Domino's, Papa John's, and Steak-Out are all actually in my cell phone speed dial. 3,6,and 9 repectively.
No one else in my house cooks. Not that they won't but trust me they can't. So sometimes I have to take some "joey" time and just order in. And I make someone else throw the box away and pick up the napkins and soda cans when we're done!

My favorite is cooking too. I love to try to make new foods I've never made before, but once I do learn them, I love to keep cooking them. I think I make a wicked steak, great hot pepper beef, and chimichangas. Also love to make hot wings, but need a new deep fryer. One of my weaknesses, but make it rarely due to frying the wings.

Call me crazy, but I love to iron. It's a stress-buster for me. I just got 2 fabulous new irons for Christmas. One that steams horizontally, the other steams vertically. So I can get all the pesky wrinkles out of my silk shirts without taking them off the hanger.

I love to cook, too, but cooking for only 2 people just doesn't seem worth it. We use the microwave ALOT.

I'm an introspective nearly 50 white guy. I'm thinking about how I might retire. Tired of giving everything away. All of my 3 kids are gone, I have a smart, good-looking wife, and a couple of shi-tzu's. I scuba dive, play guitar in a rock band, restore vintage Porsches, and try to remain calm. 4th of July and Halloween are my favorite holidays.
