Do these TV psychologists really help anyone? Or do we just watch to see other people's misery? Typically, therapy lasts for more than one 23-minute television show. Is there a danger to self-diagnosis (or spouse diagnosis) from a person who knows nothing about you?
My guess is that there is. So, pure entertainment or free psychoanalysis?

Do you think the other kids made fun of his name in grade school?

I don't watch Dr. Keith as I work during the day but from the commercials, I don't see that I'm missing anything. He appears to be a Dr. Phil knock-off that does just what Dr. Phil does: dispense common sense and logic. It's scary to think that there are so many people in the world who don't use common sense when it comes to dealing with life.

He used to do guest spots on The Tyra Banks show. Just as Dr. Phil used to be on Oprah. I guess just being a guest will get you your own show in the long run. Look at all the court T.V. type shows that are out there now. I still love Judge Judy, she's the bomb!

I have done TV Talk shows. I am not sure of the Dr. K show mentioned but I do know that the ones I was on used actors to enhance the show. My role was that of an audience plant, I was placed in the audience solely to ask questions, tough questions that would make the show appear more dramatic and convincing. My experience has validated for me that the shows are entertainment and they will do whatever it takes to keep them entertaining. Although scripted they do contain some beneficial message to a few onlookers.

I'm an introspective nearly 50 white guy. I'm thinking about how I might retire. Tired of giving everything away. All of my 3 kids are gone, I have a smart, good-looking wife, and a couple of shi-tzu's. I scuba dive, play guitar in a rock band, restore vintage Porsches, and try to remain calm. 4th of July and Halloween are my favorite holidays.
