the ONLY time taxes have ever decreased under a democrat president and a democrat controlled congress was when JFK was in the white house. and for your information: obama bin laden is NOT JFK!!!!! do you truly believe that taxes will go down if obama bin laden is elected and he pushes through his plan for socialized healthcare? if you do, i have some swampland to sell you...... and it ain't to far from phoenix!!!

Yeah, he'll lower the middle class "taxes" and then hit them with a "health care adjustment" for his communism resulting in everyone going broke (accept the broke people that stand to benifit from expansion of the "social programs" they leach off of. And pulling the ol' "it probably doesn't apply to you" as anyone who knows anything knows if one tax hike goes through others are to follow.

Ablaze, if you recall, Clinton was going to give us national health care. Hillary was put in charge. My idiot sister in law voted for Clinton because of it. When he ran for the second side show, er, uh, TERM, he said he would get the national health care going in his second term. He didn't. Another dummycrat lie to get votes. (My ignorant dummycrat sister in law fell for the lie the second time too!) Now Obama is pulling the same stunt. Obama will never get national health care going either. It is just a carrot to wave in front of the gullible uninsured to get votes. Ditto on his Robin Hood tax the rich to help the poor plan. The dummycrats kept saying that Bush's tax cuts were tax cuts for the rich. I got a tax cut when Bush came out with his cuts, and I ain't rich.
And for the record, my ignorant puke sister in law HAS insurance (on my brother's job provided policy), but has to pay a couple hundred a month more to include herself and their kids. She is hoping to save money by getting the government to pay it instead of herself. Others would follow suit, and there would be no more job provided insurance. So the government would have to pay for it all. MUCH more money that the Iraq war. MUCH MORE.

Ken--Hilary has worked her entire life for health care for all. If you look into her life during undergrad and grad school and after, you can't miss this. She tried to beat the big insurance companies, but couldn't because the timing was off. The insurance companies were powerful enough to overcome a minor annoyance at health care companies. The ICs (insur. co) hadn't hit rock bottom and couldn't be forced to go to rehab. Now is a different story. They are dropping people so they don't have to pay, they are raising rates, etc. etc. etc. while what they pay to doctors keeps dropping. Capitalism is great until someone gets too powerful and BLEEP hits the fan. Things are just going to continue on this path if the Reps get their way. But here is the flip side:

If we 'socialize' medicine like we 'socialize' police, fire and education, things will improve. The poor will still be screwed, just less screwed. Everyone can afford an education in the US, it might be crap, but it's there. If you live in a better neighborhood, you get a better school. If you can afford to drive your child to and from school everyday, better education. If you can afford a tutor, better still. If you can afford a Brophy/Xavier, better yet. But, everyone gets the very basic level for free and can pay for the upgrade if they choose. Same with police (security guards for those who need upgraded or extra policing). Heck, even fire crews compete for contracts. The same would happen with insurance companies. They would no longer be the ones in power, we would be. We would all get the ba

A higher tax on achievers and those who provides jobs, becomes a burden on those 'alleviated' of their tax payments.

What will incur, is more off shoring, closing of businesses, loss of jobs, loss of higher wage in raises, higher consumer pricing...

Our Constitution is not set up to punish those who prosper and after a time, there will be nothing left, here, to steal from them.

How come the politicians never mention a luxury tax? This country has had a luxury tax before. Would it cramp their style?

First....taxes do not make or break a biz, mismanagement, greed and a bad biz plan do.

ryggs--medicine is more or less socialized already by the insurance companies who are paying doctors less than ever before. As someone who was an O2 rep, I have heard many doctors say they can't run their business on the measely amounts insurance pays them. Therefore, there are already a lot of poopy doctors out there as evident by the many who die under their care or have things left inside of them from surgery.

NA2US---Of course she has student loans (but she also should have received a lot more grant money than I did had she done some homework), she chose to upgrade her education. But, it wasn't as expensive as it could have been thanks to funding from the govt. Same with socialized med. She can get the standard treatment, but it she wants an upgrade, she will have to pay extra. It will be no different than what is already going on now except everyong will be able to go to the doctor and won't have to wait until it gets bad enough to require th ER and be more expensive.

And, yes, I like the idea of one world govt. as I believe in the idea of the USA, manifest destiny and that all people long for freedom.

What's with you and the upgrading?No she could'nt get grants dah she is not that stupid!And you are ridiculous to believe that a one world gov is going to solve anything other then of course to take ANY of yours or my rights away.I'd rather not be around should it ever happen.
Frankly I do not have to share my salary with you to make myself feel better!And feel like I am educated!I pay my taxes as everyone else here does.
