As most of you know, I am on team Obama which means that I spend time researching all of the lies the Republican attack machine comes up with in order to learn if what they say is true or not. Every single lie that I have heard, I have been able to easily disprove with minimal effort and not one person on this site has rebuked any of my facts, because they are just that, facts. So here is the latest Republican attack that is a downright lie.

Some are believing that McCain pays women better than Obama. Complete lie and not based in fact. Obama has only one intern on his campaign last year because he apparently believes in paying women money for the job they do. McCain doesn't feel the same way. He employed 23 interns, 8 of whom were women who were not getting paid a dime. In order for the Republican liars to make McCain looks good, they did not include those unpaid women when calculating the average salary of a female working on McCain's staff, which is how Tweety's figures were calculated. However, when those unpaid women were included, McCain is dead last in the average salary paid to women campaign staffers.

Just goes to show that you can't just beleive anything you read without finding out what figures and methodology were used to come up with a conclusion. One of the best lessons learned in college is how to discern fact from fiction in 'studies' that are trying to prove a point that they want made. We learn that it is easy to manipulate these studies into giving the results one wants. It's easy, but to those of us who know how to disect these studies, we can spot a lie a mile away. Now, if only you would read the methodology of studies that show illegals take out more than they put in. But, my guess is you won't because you are happy that your position appears correct. Like Britchick explained, most of you think from your heart without using your head.

I will admit that I would abhor the day that Obama gets elected president.

ak, repulsivegans are so gullible, they'll believe anything. When President Obama takes office in 2009, watch them flee the country, heh heh!

aks, you missed the entire point in my blog. The blog was not on which employer paid their employees more, it was which employer paid their male employees more than they paid their female employees. You call me a liar while you lack basic reading comprehension.

You cited CNSNews and I came across this little nugget.

Cybercast News Service calculated three different sets of average salaries for the male and female components of each of the three Senate offices: 1) the averages for all male or female employees listed in the Secretary of the Senate's report, 2) the averages for all male and female employees listed in the Secretary of the Senate's report who were not described as "interns," and 3) the averages for all male and female employees who were paid more than $23,000 on annual basis. The analysis also looked at the number of men and women on each staff earning more than $100,000 per year.

As noted, female staffers were paid less than men on average in Obama's office no matter which measure was used. Female staffers in McCain's office were paid more than men on average no matter which measure was used. Clinton provided an almost identical average pay to males and females paid over $23,000 per year, but paid proportionally more to males than females, when averages were calculated for her entire payroll.

dhw, I've seen that article before but the links at the bottom provide plenty of reading. Amazing that the media doesn't talk about it. Nor do you find it being disputed on Obama's Fight the Smears website.

Geo, ah, hate to break it to you but you took aks' blog as being gospel. She accuses me of being a liar based on her poor interpretation of the material she is reading.

I read the material just as well as you did, Tweety. The average salary of women was least in McCain's camp. And...the average salary of men, I assume (I didn't look it up, but you are welcome to if you'd like) was also lowest in his camp. Funny how the multi millionaire elitist doesn't like to pay the little people. You also neglected to mention which jobs were held by which people which would lead to a difference in salary. If you can actually find this info on the SOS site, I would love to take a look at it. There are many variables at work, apparently too many for you to comprehend which is exactly my point.

DHW--when I have time, I will look at your sites. However, I challenge you to list the litany of flip-flops in McCain's camp. Here are just a few off the top of my head...
1. Tax breaks for the rich (against now for)
2. Hating and calling Fallwell a hate monger, comparing him to Farakhan and Sharpton, but now he is courting his followers and spoke at Liberty University.
3. Offshore Oil drilling (against now for)
4. torture (against now for)
and I am sure if I gave myself more than 1 minute to think about this, I would have thought of more. But those are 4 for you to think about.

Give me a break. You started a post accusing me of a lie by telling one yourself. You don't possess the decency to admit when you are wrong. If it makes you feel good, go ahead and spin things to suit you.

Are you saying that the average salary for women is more or less in McCain's camp than Obama's?

Are you going to continue to ignore what I brought to your attention?

Tweety--if you figure in the 15 or so men not getting paid, the difference in salaries is probably more like $10,000 which is obviously gross reverse discimination which I am not in favor of at all. But, what's most important, is that this multimillionaire doesn't think the little people should be paid anything more than peanuts...oh, and then he deserves a tax break for "creating jobs".

It's fine that you want to go beyond my original post and discuss numbers more in depth. However, to accuse me of lying and attempt to insult me wasn't the way to go about it. Since you continue to not acknowledge anything I say it would be pointless for me to carry on further discussion. It is obvious you are only looking for someone to agree with you.
