Isn't funny how times change? Many have expressed their belief that 'we are fighting the terrorists there so that we don't have to fight them here'. While there was no basis for this opinion, the Republicans fed it their people, who ate it up and regurgitate every chance they get. On the other hand, some of us just can't believe anything anyone says without looking up the facts and deciding if an opinion was warranted. My stance on this one has always been the same; the trends don't support this at all.

Ah yes, I have written this before. As a math tutor, it is my job to explain how trends are formed, what their purpose is and how to predict what will happen (this is how I teach y=mx+b and I have incredibly results with this method). Therefore, I knew that the statement "we must attack them here, so they don't attack us here" had to be based in a trend. So I looked it up. Based on data that showed, on average, we are attacked every 8 years and it usually happens when a new President takes office (provided the new Pres wasn't the outgoing VP). We are attacked, however, very often on their turf, the Middle East.

Now, finally, someone has agreed with me. Sen. Joe Liberman has echoed my comments. He supports McCain and he asserts that "our enemies will test the new President early. Remember the truck bombing of World Trade Center happened in first year of Clinton's presidency and 9-11 happend the first year of the Bush administration." I guess now you have to ask. A vote for McCain means another all out war for any attack that happens done by a rogue group that is sacraficing  a country that doesn't supports its views. A vote for Obama means an appropriate response like bombing the terrorists and taking care of govt. that support these terrorists like those in Africa, especially Afghanistan. Want to get Osama? Vote Obama!!!

If Clinton wouldn't have rolled over and pretended to enjoy what the terroists were sticking into us, there is a good chance the September 11 murders wouldn't have happened. We also got sodomized in the Cole attack, and Clinton did nothing. Bush responded to the 9/11 murders and we have not had any attacks since.
Our attacks should have been focused on Afganistan, not Iraq. I think we should have done some air strikes in Iraq on suspected WMD sites but we shouldn't have gone over there in such a big thing like we did. BUT, now that we are there, we can't leave. We screwed up their country, and we have an obligation to stay and protect the people there until they can fend for themselves. We need to tell them to either get Iraqi people to join their army or police force or draft them.
The democrats say a vote for McCain is a vote for Bush. So they are saying McCain will stand up to an attack. Obama will be more like Clinton. If we are atacked, Obama will roll over and enjoy it, and the attacks will contiue like they did with Clinton.

Ken, you forget that the Bush admin allowed 9-11 to happen under their watch. And, you forget that Clinton bombed the heck out of all the trainging grounds associated with Al Quaeda.

Also, there have been a ton of attacks during Bush's admin. Around the world, terrorist attacks have TRIPLED during his reign.

Bush barely got in office when 9/11 happened. Clinton reduced our military and intelligence. Bush inherited our undersized military and intelligence and didn't have time to imrove them before 9/11 happened.
All the attacks are happening elsewhere, not on our soil.
McBush will have a better foreign policy than Oclinton

He was in office 9 entire months. You are supposed to be ready on day one and he wasn't ready 9 months in? Especially when he should have known that terrorists would be testing him. That's terrible that you have such low expectations of our govt. That must be why you consistently vote for people who can't pass a challenging college course.

Bob--Talking with our enemies is a good thing. It gets things accomplished provided the person representing us is a good sales person. Bush is not a good salesperson nor is McCain. They talk down to people. You can't sell your point doing that. Obama has the ability to talk to people without a smartass face. Heck, we should be talking to Cuba right now in light of everything changing over there. We should be talking to Iran. Just look what was accomplished in North Korea with words.

People like you, who are ready and willing to drop bombs wherever you see fit are what's wrong with the world and this country. You are an extremist which makes you no different than Osama's boys.

And parents are dumber now and teachers are asked to pass their students along. That is the problem. And...it boils down to men mostly. As men are abandoning their children at an alarming rate and they aren't 'bringing home the bacon' like they used to and they aren't paying women what they are worth so that they can better educate their kids.

We have murderers such as Ted Kennedy, racist like former KKK member Robert Bird, idiots like McCain, and clueless people like Obama running this country and you can't figure why I have such low expectations of our government?

Who is it that can't pass a challenging college course? I know Bush, McCain, and Obama are too stupid to know that making the illegals legal will ruin our country, but I think they can pass a college course.

Obama is the only one of the three who could pass a challenging college course. Bush and McCain just aren't that bright.
