Once upon a time, give or take a day or two, the wife and I started each weekday watching a morning news team that not only kept us informed, but entertained us more than enough to be able to start the day with a smile. These days, though I am retired, I still get up early enough to spend a few hours in the morning with "Good Day" on Fox29. What first attracted us to the show, back in the day, was a pair of anchors named, Kerri-Lee Halket, and Mike Jared. The chemistry between them was magic and we were hooked.

When Mike left I was afraid that the show would never be the same. It wasn't, but the sense of humor and talents of those he left behind carried the day more than sufficiently, and "Good Day" has remained our favorite way to start the day. Now I hear that Mike is returning with his own show immediately following our favorite morning news. Even though the show airs in New York, the fact that it will air here on Fox29 is a wonderful thing. This is exciting not only because Mike is returning to my viewing vicinity, but I won't have to start channel surfing until later in the day.

Welcome home, Mike Jared!

Oct 16, 2007 | 7:48 PM Hello aardmoose (Bob Parker),

While yes, I am a true Delawarian, born and raised, I actually graduated from Brandywine H.S. in 1988. My dad was the head soccer coach (part-time), however, for Mt. Pleasant H.S. during the late 80s. Competition runs high in the Aldrich household. LOL.

My dad is a co-founder of the Concord Soccer Association, which he got started for my older brother back in the 70s. CSA is still very popular in Delaware today.

I am an over fifty somewhere, disabled, thus retired, proffesional driver. I have a long suffering wife of 26 years, two kids and a step-son, six grandchildren, and, in the not too distant future, there will be arriving the first great grandchild. I'm not yet eligible for senior citizen discounts yet I'm about to become a great grand father. There aught to be a law. I have been a singer songwriter who doesn't do too much of either anymore. I still play once in a while when my daughter brow beats me into dueting with her. These days I sit around the house, working on computers and writing in my other blog; Brain Leakings, at blogspot.com. I also like to write nonsensical essays and stories, torture the English language, and mercilesssly torment my computer's spell check program.
