UPDATE: No One To Work

Well, it's going on 3 months now, and still have no one hired to help me in my store.
Unfortunately, because of the strain of working 60 plus hours a week, I had no choice but to tender MY resignation the other day. It was something I did not WANT to do but felt I HAD to do. My family and personal life was suffering.
Please ladies and gentleman, when shopping, have respect for the retail workers out there who put in many, many hours for little pay. And they do it because they love their job.
Keep me in your thoughts, as I will be out there "pounding the pavement" once again.............

Okay, can somebody please tell me why, in this day in age where everyone is hurting for some extra cash, am I having such problems with staffing my store???
I know that retail isn't for everyone, but, c'mon, it's not hard work and where I am, is a very pleasant atmosphere.
Don't get me wrong, I do receive employment applications. Most of them want to work 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. C'mon people! It's retail! Nights and weekends are a must!. ----SIGH----
Everone wants to SHOP on weekends, but no one wants to WORK on weekends.
OK, I'm done now......thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!!
Well, the xmas holiday is over and, I must say, I encountered a few bad apples, but, all in all, my customers were a jolly bunch!!! Lucky me!!!!!!! (How did you guys do?)
Now comes the after xmas rush of returns/exchanges......................................
...................and the after xmas sales, of course! It never ends in retail..............but, I do love my job!
I'd like to take this time to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!!

Well, for those of us who slave away in the retail industry, this is the time of year where we work insanely long hours to service our adoring public.
If I could have 1 thing for Christmas, it would be for all of my customers, and those who are just 'browsing', to be as jolly as Santa on a good day. There is NOTHING more annoying than a customer with outlandish expectations in this busy season. Don't get me wrong, I love just about all of my customers an do all I can to help them in any way. It's just like that old saying "One bad apple spoils the bunch". Please do your best this holiday season and not be the bad apple!!!!!!
And, don't let the any bad apple retail worker get you customers down!!!

I would like to know why some customers are always so rude. I have worked in the retail field for 15 years and the behavior of some of the customers never ceases to amaze me.
I would also like to know why there are store policies on returns and price adjustments, when all a customer has to do is cause a stink and the policies go out the window.
God forbid we make a customer angry or upset.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................it just makes me crazy!
