Uh huh.. Now I know why Chet P. doesn't like the red light cameras. He said that the offender pays $100. with no points. That's where the attorney's job (big money) kicks in. When points are issued, the offender seeks an attorney to have points removed. The cameras kinda cut out the middle man.
I like the cameras because I've noticed where there's cameras, drivers think before they run that light where before I've seen as many as 3 cars going through the red light. The police can't be everywhere.

Ok, I hear women over 50 don't have babies cause we'd forget where we put 'em.
Were you ever watching TV and saw some really interesting www's that you want to look up when you sign on only to fire up the laptop and draw a complete blank? Uh, what was that site I was going to look up? This happens to me too often. Do I need to keep a notepad nearby and jot these sites down? I don't want to do that.. Is it my age? How do you remember all the sites you want to visit? Help...

This is one of my latest pet peeves.
Open a magazine..not to just any page.. the pages where the inserts are, not by choice, because those squares of card stock direct you to them. The first thing I do now is flip through the pages and tear out ALL of the inserts before I read. By the time I'm finished, a small tree is lost.
What gets on your nerves?

I returned from my first train trip since my childhood. It was great! I was going from Washington, MO to KC, MO. The train was only 5 minutes late when leaving the station at Washington, Mo. I had no delays at all along the way. The weather was perfect, too. It's a good thing because the concert was held at an outdoor venue called, The Starlight. I was meeting up with a friend I had met online over a decade ago. She's come here when Jim Brickman comes to town and this is the second time I headed west for the concert.
I traveled in the business section at a slightly higher cost, but worth it because it's no short trip. It took longer to get home. We had to stop a few times for freight trains but I didn't mind because I was reading a book and it was very relaxing. I also chose business because there's an outlet for my laptop. I was never bored. One day they'll make trains wi fi..
Here's some pics.. Jim told me he'll be here in December if anyone's interested!

Well, I guess we could have seen this coming. Jordin slowly worked her way up to the #1 position even edging Melinda out of a win. They will all have lucrative careers.
The finale was uneventful. I don't think this was one of the most talent filled Idols. No performances this evening WOW'd me either. It was all very forgetable.
Will I tune in next season? Most likely. For some reason, I'm compelled to watch it progress from millions of hopefuls to the one and only... American Idol.
See you all next season..

Just got home.. That's a winner! Cardinals 9 - Pittsburgh 4..
Will it be Blake.. or Jordin? Last week.. The coin toss to see who sings first. The winner is.. Blake Lewis. He'll go first. Let the games begin. They'll sing 3 songs each.
Blake Lewis - You Give Love a Bad Name - This is Blake at his best @ beat boxing. Randy said, well.. he can hardly speak over the applause. 10 out of 10 for the beat boxing. The singing was just alright. Paula said he outdid himself. Simon said Blake, you're not the best singer in the competition, but you're the best performer. Best performance.
She Will Be Loved - Blake's second choice. I like this song for him. It suits his voice. Randy said great song and a very nice vocal. Natural and pure. Paula said he got into the ease of the song. It sounded great..relaxed. Simon said it was good... it was safe and it wasn't as good as the first performance.
This Is My Now - Blake's third choice. I'm not liking this one so much. Wishing he would have chosen another "glory" song. A safe song for sure. Randy said this is not the kinda song that suits his voice. Not great. Paula said he did a great job on the song. Simon thought it was all a little odd. Not a bad song. Not a type of song he would normally sing. He said he always thought there was talent in Seattle and he was right.
Jordin Sparks - Fighter - This song isn't showcasing her vocal range. Randy said yo... check it out.. Wasn't her greatest entertainment thing but her voice was stellar. Paula proves that this is the best finales ever. You were both stellar. Simon said the vocals were a bit shrieky. He gives round one to Blake.
A Broken Wing - Jordin's second choice. This is a good choice to showcase her vocal range. Nice. Randy said he loved her from day one. Most talented 17 yr old he's ever seen. Flawless. Paula said she looks adorable. A great vocal voice? tonight. Simon said, now THAT, was good.
She sings.. This Is My Now, too. Jordin's third choice. I think I just don't like this song at all. I wonder who made them sing this one. She's doing a better job of it than Blake did. Getting emotional for her. Randy said it is a singing competition. YOU, were the best singer tonight. YOU deserve it all. Paula said she friggin ? makes her proud? Simon said last week he didn't think she was good enough to make the finals but you just wiped the floor with Blake with this one.
This is it.. who will get the most votes?? Ok, Jordin does have the better singing voice but I'd prefer to see Blake in concert because I'd want to be entertained.
The two hour vote spectacular is tomorrow night.
See you then!

Top Two Remain - MELINDA Goes Home - A REAL SHOCKER!
On the edge of my seat tonight as I wait to see who will be the last two standing. Will it be Blake, Jordin or Melinda going home tonight? Will we be shocked by the results?
Where's Ryan? Homer Simpson did the intro.. lol
Elliot Yamin will sing as well as Maroon Five.
Yikes.. Ryan was giving a recap of Jordin's appearance yesterday. He's going to keep it a nail biter. Now, Blake Lewis is getting the recap.. It's great to see the homecomings. Jordin and her high school visit and Blake and his Dad take the stage. An emotional night. Now, it's time for Elliot Yamin to return once again. He has changed! He sounds great and look at those veneers. Melinda's turn for the recap. Again, we will wait until after Maroon Five performs. Results coming up.
The moment of truth... Dim the lights. America's results. He starts with Jordin.. She is safe! We all think Blake goes home at this point, right? Melinda.. step forward. I'm watching this live.. WOW.. this is the end of the road for Melinda.. Are we all shocked, or what?? I was.
Next week, we'll see who America has chosen as the next American Idol. Who will it be? See you next week... same time, same station. Don't miss it!

Here's how it works tonight.. each judge has picked a song, the producers have picked a song for each contestant and final three have selected their own favorite song.
Jordin Sparks
Simon's choice - Wishing On A Star - Simon picked a song that was good for Jordin. Nice job. Randy said a very good vocal. Paula said Simon picked a good song for her. I agree. Simon said you sang it brilliantly, Jordin. He prefers a purer version of the song. Not one of her better performances.
Producers choice - She Works Hard for the Money - Not a good choice for Jordin. She seems out of sync for me. She doesn't move with the music. Randy said she was working it out.. it was hot. Paula said you worked hard for the money tonight.. It was fantastic. Simon said it was a very good performance.
Jordin's choice - I Who Have Nothing - It was a good performance, but not one of my favorites from Jordin. Randy said it was her best performance of the night. Paula said it sat well in her voice and how it built up. Good choice. Simon said she sang it well, but a part of him hated that a 17 year old sang a 60 year olds song.
Blake Lewis
Paula's choice - Roxanne - I was entertained. Way to bring it.. Blake. Randy said great performance. Pretty good vocal..a couple of spots.. Gotta give you an A on that.. Hot.. Paula said he did her proud.. it was good, it was fresh.. Simon said it wasn't earth shattering. It was good, it wasn't great.
Producers choice - This Love - This is a good choice for Blake. Great vocals. Randy said you know what was really cool about that is when you make a record, that is of record you should make. Paula said she was hoping he would do that. It's a good night for you. Simon preferred this one to the first one. That was good.
Blake's choice - When I Get You Alone - Blake always has my attention. You have to watch and listen. I liked it. Randy said I see why you chose that. It was cool but he liked Maroon Five better. Paula said 3 great performances. Simon said, I actually really liked that. You don't play it safe, you take a risk, you look like you're having fun.
Melinda Doolittle
Randy's choice - I Believe in You and Me - The best vocal so far tonight. She's polished as an entertainer. Randy said that was hot. He liked the falsetto thing. Paula said.. you were fantastic.. one of her better performances this season. Simon said a very difficult song to sing. Round 1 goes to Melinda.
Producers choice - Nutbush City Limits - This is a great choice for Melinda. It shows energy. Randy said a great performance. He wants this song in her record repertoire. Paula said we love you, we love you and we love you. Simon said we love that side of you. Another brilliant performance.
Melinda's choice - I'm a Woman - This is an "oldie" song. Can't help but wonder what Simon will think of this. It showcases her vocals, but I don't like the song choice for Melinda. It ages her. Randy said he's seeing the range and vocal ability. Paula said she's stepping out in the spotlight. It's awesome. Simon said loved the little strip tease at the top. She consistently delivers week after week.
Ok.. there will be the two finalists tomorrow night after the vote. Who are your choices? I personally think Jordin is going home tomorrow night. There are no losers any more though... We will have a new American Idol next week... Stay tuned!

I mean.. there's only 3 left. WOW LaKisha.. Melinda, Blake and Jordin .. until tonight. One will go home. Simon and Paula swap seats.
Barry Gibb will perform.
"Who Knew?" Pink, live onstage ..
Next.. results.. (this is tough, live for me.. no fast forwarding through the commercials.. UGH .. another one! No wonder it's an hour long show!) Now, for the Idol commercial.. Stones.. You Really Got Me Going .. great song. Applauding at the tribute to Barry Gibb.. Nice job.. Idols.. OMG.. another commercial break!
LaKisha, Melinda, Blake and Jordin are on the couch. They get a sneak peak of Fantastic Four.. In theatres, June 15th. Again, no popcorn! Sheeshhh.. How can you enjoy a show like that?
Anyway.. Now standing.. LaKisha.. Melinda, Blake and Jordin.. results.. you've got it.. after the (lengthy) break. The Idols are in a huddle. They aren't ready. Dimming the lights.. Jordin is safe and is sitting down.. The rest of the results.. in just a moment. They're looking for the best undiscovered group in America. Check out AmericanIdol.com for more info.
Barry Gibb takes the stage.. You Don't Know What It's Like.. That took me back.. Everyone's on their feet. Commercial time..
Ok.. three left onstage. Melinda is safe.. have a seat. LaKisha and Blake remain. Paula eloquently congratulated the remaining two .. Dimming the lights.. Over 45 million votes. Blake is safe. LaKisha goes home tonight.
Was anyone surprised?

With 2 weeks left, who's headed for the finale.. It's your call, said Ryan. The pressure is on.
The contestants are each singing twice tonight. Tonight's mentor is Barry Gibb. All Bee Gee songs. Takes me back.
Melinda is first: Love You Inside and Out - She's doing a great solo of this song. But, she should show more exuberance on stage .. Randy says it was a solid performance. He's not jumping up and down but it was good. Paula said her vocals are great. Simon said he thinks what Paula was attempting to say is that Paula wasn't impressed. He thought it was more of a backing vocalists performance. He said she is better than that.
Blake - You Should Be Dancing - Blake is fun to watch. You never know what to expect. It was entertaining. Randy didn't like it. He thought it was corny. Paula has a different take. Said it started a little shaky but he showed true musicianship. Simon said, "I'll give you unique, but I thought it was terrible."
LaKisha - Stayin Alive - I'm not liking this at all. She should have gone up higher as Barry suggested. Poor song choice. An assault to my ears. Sorry, LaKisha. Randy said it's a good thing you guys have got two songs. This wasn't working. Tried to do too much with it. Paula she brought the mood down with the tempo. Simon said no kiss tonight. Back to the shouting again. Performance was verging on scary in parts. Not great tonight, so far.
Jordin - To Love Somebody - She's just ok like the others so far tonight. The Bee Gees aren't that easy to sing, apparently. We can only hope their second songs are MUCH better. Randy says its been kind of a rough night for him, so far. So far, Randy thinks she the best. Paula said it's the best vocal tonight, so far. Simon liked it as well.
Melinda - How Do You Mend A Broken Heart - She's singing her heart out. It doesn't have that WOW factor for me but she's good, as usual. Randy says second song much better. Resident pro. Paula said a beautiful vocal. Simon said the second half of that song has put you in the semi finals.
Blake - This is Where I Came In - I like this one much better than his first effort. It's not exceptional. Randy said this was definitely better than the last one. He liked the Reggae spin. Paula said he was the contemporary rebel in this competition. Simon said it was completely tuneless and he didn't know why he chose it. Not good performances. A really weird bizarre choice of song.
LaKisha - Run To Me - This is a good choice for LaKisha. She's getting a little too loud toward the end. Ooo.. off in the last line. Lost her voice. Randy said that was good. Paula said you're still a champ. Simon said it was better than the first song.
Jordin - A Woman in Love - The best tonight. Way to go, Jordin. Randy said he thought it was pitchy. Paula said she loves her anyway. Simon thought it was old fashioned and pageanty.
Ok.. tough songs tonight... who will go home tomorrow night? I think it'll be LaKisha.

This is what I'd do.. if I owned an establishment that served alcohol, when you entered, I'd take information like your name, address and keys. As each person left, they'd get a breathalyzer test. If you fail, you would be getting transportation that we provide. Your keys will be returned at your home. While you're drinking and partying on, I would assess the mileage from here to your house so you will be charged accordingly. Easy enough to do.
Ok, would you dine, drink here? Don't know what else to do. Barkeepers say they can't patrol everyone.. and that would be hard to do. Any other suggestions? How do we save lives? An impaired person can't make decisions for themselves. We have to worry about innocent drivers/passengers.
