by ThunderTush from a State that is always sunny! Ugh

Hiya.... Greetings from Arizona! Well, we finally made it- 4 days of driving and encountering wicked weather, I have to say, the trip was insane- Three kids, a jam packed car, 2900 miles later, I am now in Arizona- My feelings.... Well, being a life long resident of Pa,, I have to say that Arizona is an interesting state-  Days of sun without a cloud in sight- Weird going from winter to heat! 93 degrees yesterday! Now if it was in Pa., think of the humidity, lol- The humanity!

That is all for now

Welcome. You will become adept at parking your car in the shade of a phone or power pole so that the shadow falls across your steering wheel, handy to bring a towel is staying longer than 10 minutes.
But, hey it's a dry heat, seldom much humidity.
Enjoy

I am sure I will adapt given time- The time difference however threw me off, never experiencing it before- The mornings are painfully long.... Ahhhh

That's alright, wait till the rest of the country changes time and we don't. However a lot of the tv programs change by an hour then and half the year the east coast is 3 hours different, the other half 2 hours different.

Hope your car doesnt have leather seats!! If it does do not wear shorts and sit down, as dhw said bring a towel to sit on!! Welcome to sunny AZ :0)

A water bottle is a necessity if even just walking to the mailbox!!

The time difference is nothing compared to the 8 hrs ahead that we go through every time going back to the UK!! Now thats a killer!! But I do know what you mean, we drove from AZ to Indiana once never ever again, it was exhausting, and the extra 2-3 hrs got me also, and the humidity I cannot stand anymore. I love AZ, hope you have a very happy time here, welcome :0) and it really is a "dry heat" LOL

Not to shabby chick... I am a huge water drinker so I always have something on me, especially for the kids... Humidity is what I could not stand- Living in Philly for 5 years, we had no ac, and I will tell you that it was horrible... Waking up at 3 am in a sweat! BLAH-
Dry heat is good!

Anyway, the ride was long but the change of scenery helped us along, seeing new things and all- Arizona isn't as bad as I thought! And thanks for the kind words... We do get to head to San Diego later this am- Temps will def be on the cool side :)

Yesterday was a hot one- But I know I have not seen anything yet lol

ewww yep the humidity will get ya!!! We visited DC once in the summer, walked up Capital Hill and down the other side and I almost passed out because of the humidity it was nasty!!

Are you just passing through Arizona?? San Diego will be nice, sheesh I miss the beach!!! Arizona really is pretty isnt it, and the different elevations make for pleasant changes, and us Phoenicians take off upto Flagstaff and the northern part in the Winter to experience the snow, and in Summer time to cool off LOL, you really have to go up there sometime, and go to Sedona I love that place, in the summer time there is Slide Rock and my kids love it, its so much fun sliding down the natural rock slide (but the water is chilly LOL) take a picnic too.

Yep 110+ is just around the corner!! enjoy :0) Have a safe drive. The hottest I have known it to get so far in 8 yrs of being here is 117 degrees (now that is stay indoors weather LOL)

We are living here now- My husband received an excellent job offer that we both could not refuse lol- Plus he will not have to work in the cold anymore- I always had a problem with that.... His parents however have been here for about 6 years so I have gotten the scoop on the do's and what not to do, the weather, yadda- They have visited Sedona many times, in which I am certainly excited to see- I can't wait to explore the state and see the Grand Canyon either- In time I am sure- And I never saw temps above 103 so this will def be interesting- The humidity in Pa. was horrible, something that I do not miss at all- If I need snow, I'll just head up to Flagstaff.... sighs
