"Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind."
-William Shakespeare
A Midsummer Night's Dream
We're thinking of midsummer because today, July 15th, is the halfway point of meteorological summer. It's a bit different than the summer we talk about when the solstice happens, which was on June 20th this year. Meteorological summer includes the entire months of June, July, and August. That's why for us in The Weather Station, it's Midsummer.
At this point, though, it's going to be a bit unusual, because we're getting a break from the humidity today. It'll still be warm, but not so sticky, thanks to the cold front that came through early yesterday.
Wednesday gets a bit warmer, into the upper eighties, but it's still not humid to the max.
That happens on Thursday, which could be the first day of our next summer heat wave.
We expect highs in the 90s, all the way through the weekend.
I'd better stock up on talcum powder......and Shakespeare..................
