TexasTruBlu's Fortress of Solitude

Maybe it's just me, but I am tired of the news. I am tired of this feeling of impending doom, which frankly someone must consider a winning programming policy because just about every single outlet is trying to out do the others on their dire predictions. Frankly, I am tired of trying to tell people of the very serious problems that exist, because it's becoming increasingly clear that we are headed to an Idiocracy-where the stupidest people have more sway over those who actually do things like READ! WRITE! and THINK! This campaign has been far too long and its length has done more to divide this country than unite it. The players are just that, players pretending that if they nudge this issue one way or the other that they can win the entire enchilada. They are playing at what is known as brinksmanship, with the American public being the sole commodity at stake. Aren't you guys tired of it? Aren't you tired of the arguing, the bickering, the false accusations that permeate every single blog? I think the stock market drop after the bailout/pork barrel is largely due to the continued haranging on the part of the press. Stop it. Leave us alone. We need facts, not your opinions!

My thoughts as well, Tru -

My wife hates to watch the news on TV with me anymore. I only watch what's local. As soon as anything that's politicial, or about the stock market, comes on, I switch channels (thank goodness for remotes).

The media makes everything worse than it really is, and they are all bias.

I will give you a fact. Obama has association, past and present with a known terrorist, AYERS. This is not an opinion. Fact. Obama is the one of the most liberal voters in the senate. Fact. Obama received a lot of money from Fannie May. Fact. Obama's voting record in Illinois supports abortion. Not Opinions, facts.

VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE. ALL OF THEM. Do not vote for any Dem, or Rep up for election, NONE OF THEM. That's the only thing they will understand. FIRE THEM ALL.

I quit watching the news last week. I refuse to watch it again, except for weather and sports, until next May.

I listen to Jazz on KNTU on my way to work. I arrive in a much better frame of mind. I simply cannot handle "bad news on the doorstep" anymore. I think most of us are simply too wrung out.

Yes, I am weary of it all. The sheep have leaned heavily towards this fascist upstart to the point that we are in true danger from within and from without.

And the music is better on CDs. No stupid commercials.

I agree, moankie. I download my music from Bear Share and make my own CD's.

I download some, but most I have old albums. I even have old 45s of Wilson Pickett and Jerry Lee.

Do you remember songs that you could acually understand every word the "first" time you heard it? And no one was a "Hoe".

Remember when songs mentioned romance and not "booties"? I wonder if people miss the old R&B? The songs today are just junk.

I miss the old R&B more than you know. I bought the oldies through Time Life. I love em. I'am back in my 62 Catalina converible having a good time.

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
