Not long ago (Easter weekend to be exact) I was watching the 5 o'clock report and my jaw hit the floor. There on the TV screen was a reporter giving out information about WHERE, WHEN AND WHY the local police would be setting up radar to catch...DRUNK DRIVERS AND SPEEDERS.

I could not believe my ears. She actually warned everyone to watch out so they WERE NOT CAUGHT.  I must ask...is this RESPONSIBLE REPORTING??

Here in Central Florida we have on almost a daily basis reports of Drunk Drivers hitting someone and killing them, and complaints about the individuals that can't keep to the posted speeds. BOTH ARE HIGH RISKS for everyone else on the roads, yet instead of making the job of the police officers eaiser to catch those breaking the law, they chose to TIP PEOPLE OFF WHERE THEY SHOULDN'T GO IF THEY ARE DRINKING OR SPEEDING. Why did this reporter feel the need to ENABLE THE ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR and PROTECT THOSE COMMITING IT instead of the general population! 

This is not the first time I have seen this done and it needs to stop. It would serve the community much better if they warned people NOT TO DRINK AND DRIVE OR TO SPEED PERIOD! .

Perhaps this reporter and this new station should consider the fact that NOT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE REPORTED and the next time they are tempted to do this remember...THE LIFE THEY SAVE COULD BE THEIR OWN by just staying silent!

Afternoon All.

   NO I wasn't banned or anything...lol  Just had a bit of a problem and a tiny glitch but thanks to the help and efforts of our WEB MASTER and a bit of poking around I am back on line and able to take part here again.

  You have no idea how frustrating it was to be able to do nothing but read, so watch out cause I have some catching up to do now...lol.

The "smartest" lady I know asked that I post this for her...(did I say that right dear?) because she thought it was a wonderful idea that not many may have thought of. We both hope it does some good in this age of rising crime and home invasions.

A SECURITY SYSTEM YOU MAY NOT HAVE THOUGHT OF.

If you own a car with one of those alarm systems keep your keys next to your bed at night. If you hear someone trying to break in just push the "panic" button on that key set and let your horn blast! It will continue until you either turn it off or the battery dies in your car! Chances are the intruder will not hang around for long. This will work whether your car is in the garage or driveway and generally from any room in your house. Test it out to make sure.

Its the security system most of us forget we have and it doesn't cost you anything for installation, or service. So the next time you head off to bed...grab those car keys and keep them in reach. You just never know when you might need to "blow your own horn!"

Call this a "social experiment" of sorts, or just the curiosity of a single individual but I am very interested in seeing what if anything this post will generate.

I have noticed that on far to many occassions here people feel the need to post "off topic" just to vent, display anger, point a finger, or be nasty to someone else, and yes I too am guilty at time of those charges, so I thought I would step out on a limb and offer myself up as the test subject for this question.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ME?

That seems like a simple enough question right, but all you have to go on is what you have seen of me by way of what I post here and that can be the tricky part of this.

I invite you to speak your mind and if you are so inclined when you are done, step out on this limb and post the same question to others. This could be an eye opening experiment, so post away.

I was reading the morning posts and came upon one entitled "teachers" posted by Laurielynn911. While reading the various responses to her post I noticed a poster by the name TELLSITLIKEITIS had posted a rather nasty reply. I looked at the name twice and realized it was GRAY instead of the usual RED, so I clicked on the Icon only to be told by the system that it was not a valid ID. This really got me to thinking here. Who was this person and how were they able to post a response without having a valid ID or NAME?? I do remember seeing this same kind of thing at other times here but never really payed much attention to it, nor have I ever tried clicking on them, but I am sure I would have gotten the same reply had I.

So...is this just a glich in the system? Is it a security breech that hackers can and do use, or is it possible its our Web Master himself venting in what he thinks is position of non-accountability?? Of these possibilities only the first causes me no concern. If it is a security breech then JUST HOW SECURE IS THIS SITE?? If it is our Web Master then JUST HOW PROFESSIONAL IS THIS PERSON??

Interesting questions no doubt, I just wonder if this blog will make it to the main page or if it will be squashed and shuffled through as fast as possible? Either way it sure has gotten me to wondering just how SECURE and SAFE my posting really are on here??? Does it make you wonder as well??

    Good Morning All. Last evening I had a very interesting conversation with the wife. She had done some reading on here and decided I, like so many others had gone the way of  “blogger hell”.  LOL.

   In her quiet but loving way she pointed out that I was becoming a “nag”, “harpy”, “cynic” and ‘BORING’ individual who was falling into the trap of “personality clashes”, “sandbox fights” and “testosterone challenges” and NOT sharing what she calls “my down home wisdom” and “ expensive intelligence” and that got me to thinking…

   She was right!

  So let me take a moment here and offer MY MOST SINCERE APOLOGY TO ALL for getting off track and allowing this to happen. If you are like me you did not come to this site with this intention, but rather to find other individuals with whom you could share an intelligent thought, a feisty debate, or a bit of sympathy and maybe in the end make a few new friends.

   With all that is going on in this world today, there are much better topics for honest discussion than some of those I have engaged in. I, nay we, may not be able to change the world with just our words here but we sure can exchange ideas, thoughts and observations that just might change something in Florida for the better.

    So, once again my friends, please accept this apology offered as one is owed, and I will strive to contain my “wash woman” tendencies from here on out. Now let the debates begin. I am finally ready….LOL

Yesterday while watching the news (something I don't get to do to often these days) I saw a story about Big Business in the US and how they are trying to stop the deportation of Illegals from this country. There were some that were activitly pursuing bringing more across the border for employment purposes. During this segment they showed numerous sites where "illegals" gather every day so that the local business people can drive by and pick up day labor. (this is nothing new folks, it has been a common practice in the construction field for years but the people being employed used to be the homeless or the unemployed citizens).

My question is WHY THE HELL ISN'T INS PICKING THESE PEOPLE UP AND DEPORTING THEM???

Every city in the US has at least one of these sites and they are well known. There is alot of talk about how hard it would be to round the "illegals" up yet here they are in broad view and NO ONE DOES A DAMN THING ABOUT IT!.  Personally I think they should not only be picking up these illegals and deporting them but they should be handing out HEFTY FINES to every single business that shows up looking for cheap day labor!! Its time we took control of the situation people don't ya think??

Ok here is the situation:

While having dinner this evening my son (20) and I engaged in a bit of a friendly argument about "dating" and when all was said and done I was the one who left the table shaking my head in wonder. I have since spent the last several hours pondering just how much the "dating scene" has changed in the last 23 years since I was a young and handsome buck out there trying to impress the ladies and decided to come here and seek the wisdom of those both older and younger than myself conserning this issue.

This friendly argument revolved around a situation that my son has found himself in with the young woman he is currently seeing. They have been dating for about 8 months on what the wife and I had assumed was a steady basis and not seeing any others at the same time. As it turns out they had agreed some monts ago to expand their sights and date others while still working on their relationship. That in itself is not the problem. I actually think that is a good idea given they are still very young. Anyway...our discussion turned to the "actual" dating they have been doing when my son commented on the dinner his mother had prepaired. He told her that he wished his girlfriend wasn't so picky and would accept an invite to have dinner with us. I looked at the wife and realized that in fact this girl in all these months had never sat down at the dinner table with us even once yet my son was ALWAYS taking her to this or that resturant (no fast food joints either) each time they went out. Is seems it is her favorite thing to do on a date and he is happy to comply. This explains why this boy is spending on average of $150.00 bucks a week. He then commented that when they go to the resturant his girlfriend ALWAYS orders the most expensive meal she can yet when it arrives she only eats a tiny portion and ends up asking for a "take home box" for the remainder. Of course that is something I have seen my wife and daughters all do so I still was not clear what the problem was. I suggested that he take her to a movie instead but he replied that she only liked movies she could watch at home. OK...so this one is a bit odd...My son then went on to explain that last night he had decided to surprise his girlfriend when he got off work early with a movie and japaneese take out (one of her favorites). When he arrived at her apartment he was greated at the door by another young man who was there for dinner. A bit pertrubed but understandingly he entered the apartment to drop off his gifts anyway and there on the table was the remainders of ALL THE PAST WEEKS TAKE HOME FARE she had been letting my son pay for. He said it was a regular buffet of goodies she had provided. They spoke a few words and my son took his leave to come home. I couldn't believe my ears and neither could my wife. OUR SON was not the least bit concerned about this event! I couldn't hold my tongue and told him that I felt this girl was taking him for a ride and that he should maybe rethink dating her and the wife agreeded. My son and my daughters both laughted and said that we were out of touch with the "dating scene" and that is was perfectly ok to do in this day and age. WHAT??? Have I lost my mind?? Does anyone else see what is wrong with this picture?? Or is my son right and I just need to buy a "dating in the new millenium" book at Barns and Knoble??

President Bush, working to rebuild strained U.S.-Mexico relations, promised Tuesday he would do his best to get a deeply divided U.S. Congress to change American immigration policies that are hated south of the border

My pledge to you and your government, but more important to the people of Mexico, is I'll work as hard as I possibly can to pass comprehensive immigration reform," Bush said during a sun-splashed arrival ceremony that opened two days of meetings with Mexican President Felipe Calderon in this Yucatan Peninsula tourist haven.

Relations between the two border countries have only grown worse since Bush signed a law calling for construction of more than 700 miles of new fencing along the long border the two countries share.

Calderon has lambasted the fence — a mix of physical and high-tech barriers. He likens it to the Berlin Wall, and argues that both countries need to improve Mexico's economy to lessen the desire to seek work in the United States.

Before their talks, Calderon had a tough message for Bush: The United States must do more to solve thorny issues of drug-trafficking and immigration.

He was gentler at Bush's side, but with the same message.

"We fully respect the right that the government and the people of the United States has to decide within its territory what will be best for their concerns and security," he said as he welcomed Bush. "But at the same time we do consider in a respectful way that" migration can't be stopped with a fence.

When he first became president, Bush promised that Latin American would vault to the top of his agenda. But after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the administration's focus was riveted on South Asia and the Middle East. That left many Mexicans feeling neglected by their northern neighbor, and some view Bush's trip as a case of too little, too late.

The biggest hurdle, Bush said, is figuring out what to do with the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States. The president has proposed a guest worker plan that would allow legal employment for foreigners and give some illegals a shot at becoming American citizens. Critics say this rewards unlawful behavior.

Is there any doubts left about how important the AMERICAN'S views are to THIS president?

In the center colum count down 34 names and you will find a MR. JOE SCHITTER followed by Mr. John T SCHITTER.  Now I suggest that you phone either of these individuals and tell them that by YOUR DETERMINATION THEIR NAME IS PROFANE and therefore not allowed to be used in any public posting on the FOX NEW WEB SITE. I wonder Mr. Web Dictator do you have the balls to do that?? Or will you simple REMOVE THIS POST AS WELL???

I am rather disturbed that you felt you had the right to completely remove a blog I posted entitled 'YOU DON'T KNOW JACK" in the Entertainment section of this site.

  This blog was posted in the spirit of HUMOR and DID NOT violate any of the TOS. It contained NO Profanity or any other objectionable content yet you removed it as if it did and I would like a VALID explaination for you actions.

I will wait 24 hours for you reply. If it is not forthcoming I WILL post it again.
