I hope some of you still remember me...... for those that dont, I used to blog here all the time. I took the summer off to get married, and relax a while. Now, im jumping back in with both feet, so expect to see a ton from me. But my first post back has a purpose. I need your help:

On Sept 4, two of my friends that I work with were in a terrible motorcycle accident. One of them, Mona had to have her left lower leg amputated, broke her arm and had a plate put in her shoulder. Cory had his wrist shattered. My friends are in need of moral, medical and financial help. They are unable to work due to their injuries and lenthy rehab, and are in need of financial support. Mona has her monthly house and living expenses, medical expenses, as well as supporting her two sons, one who she is sending to college. There will be a benefit for Mona at Flatiron Mall on November 17th, from 6 to midnight. Donation is only $7.00. I am asking if there are some business owners or individuals who would be willing to donate items or services to this worthy cause. This is set up as a 501c3, and would be tax deductable for the donation, but it would help to alievate a family's stress as they adjust to the new cards life has delt them.

Someday when my children are old enough to
    understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will
    tell them, as my Mean ol Mom told me: I loved you
    enough . . . to ask where you were going, with whom, 
  and what time you would be home.

    I loved you enough to be silent and let you
   discover that your new best friend was a creep.

   I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours
    while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

    I loved you enough to let you see anger,
   disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must
   learn that their parents aren't perfect.

   I loved you enough to let you assume the
   responsibility for your actions even when the
   penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.

    But most of all, I loved you enough . . . to say
    NO when I knew you would hate me for it.

    Those were the most difficult battles of all. I'm
    g lad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
    And someday when your children are old enough to
    understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them.

    Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. We had the
    meanest mother in the whole world! While other kids
    ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat sandwiches.

 And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
   different from what other kids had, too.

    Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
    times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She
    had to know who our friends were, and what we were
    doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
    would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.

    We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
    to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work.  We had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to
    cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash
   and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie
    awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.

    She always insisted on us telling the truth, the
    whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time
    we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had
    eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!

   Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
   when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
   so she could meet them. While everyone else could
   date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16 .

    Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
  things other kids experienced. None of us have ever
  been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
   property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.

   Now that we have left home, we are all educated,
  honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean
    parents just like Mom was.

    I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
    It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

These are the words of Senior McGee. A vile, racist man if there ever was one. How come there is not the outrage from the community over these remarks. Imus said the wrong thing, and suffered the punishment. McGee accused a man of murder. McGee has gone too far and must be fired. Before all the liberals start to go off on me, this outrage is NOT because the deceased is Sykes mother. I dont care if it was Bill Clintons mother these remarks were about.... I would still be upset. I cant wait to see how Eugene Cane spins this one!

Am I the only one doing the happy dance about this? (Sorry Colby Dog, I know your upset about this)

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question. Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?"

I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young:

I was drug to church on Sunday morning.

 I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.

I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.

I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.

I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or others , or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity

I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.

I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.

Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

 God bless the parents who drugged us.

Happy Spring everyone. Here is what has been rambling around my brain for the last few days:

1. Imus is an idiot. The man is trying to create a buzz for what he says. And yes what he has said is very wrong. However, is it any different than what spews out of Alderman McGee/Jackson Jr? Or Michael Richards using offensive language? If this was said on Def Comedy Jam, would it have gotten a huge laugh?

2. Speaking of McGee/Jackson Jr - 6th district, you had your chance. I guess the residents thought that the standard of corruption and intolerance was just fine by them.

3. The pushing of Sanjya has got to stop. Now with Chris and Gina gone, and Sanjya getting the "Vote for the worst/Stern vote" and Hailey getting the skimpy skirt vote it looks like the two real talents, Melinda and Jordin will have a hard road winning the contest. I would love to see Lakisha gone. She has been rathar boring the last couple of weeks, and seems like she is acting like a diva. Justin Timberlake, ooops, I mean Chris R. needs to go too. I think Sanjya knows that he could come out buck naked, sing the ABC's and pee on the floor and he would still be safe from the bottom three.

4. Is it just me or a conspiracy that the Cleveland Indians are playing in Milwaukee on the day Major League is re-released? Acually i think it is very cool that the Brewers are allowing this and the tickets are cheap!

5. Greta update: It has now been one month since we got Greta back, and she is doing fine! No more sickness, and she has such a personality! She even can be a little sassy when she wants to play.

6. What a Masters! For a golf fan like me, it was fun seeing the pros have trouble on the course like us duffers do! Congrats to Jerry Kelly from Madison for an excellent showing.

7. With the weather being so bad; and no I am not blaming Vince, Rob and Bart; and snow coming, its time to brew a new batch of homebrew beer. The new batch is a honey weiss. Still trying to come up with a name. Maybe Over Par Honey weiss for the winning score at Augusta.

8. There are rumblings that a support our troops rally is being planned at the Army recruit center on the east side. Im sure you will be hearing more about this, and I hope it gets the same coverage as the anti war protect got.

9. With the coming of spring, it means it is almost time for Softball season! Maybe Fox Six would sponsor a team made up of Bloggers and Staffers?

10. The Blood Center is having a promotion called Pay It Forward. When you donate blood, you have a chance to win $1000 to donate to the charity of your choice. It also shows how one blood donation helps so many people. When you give blood you do "Pay it Forward". If you havent donated in a while, its time. If you have never donated, why not? Help save a life.

Let me first start off by saying that this is not directed to anyone who peacefully let their voices heard on the 4th anniversary of the war in Iraq. If you rallyed for or against, more power to you.

This is directed to the hoodlums who decieded to become violent in the name of peace. Damageing a recruitment center, dressing in black with torches, bats and sticks, breaking windows setting off smoke bombs and throwing paint around the streets and spreading feces on things does not in any way speak well for your cause. I hope you are all arrested and charged like the scum you are. You do have the right to voice your opinion. You dont have the right to become a raging destructive mob.

I think even Colby Dog would agree with me on this one. :-)

Ok guys I havent done this in a while, but seeing how I have been gone I have lots of random thoughts rolling through my head, and they want to get out, so here goes:

1. Boy have I been out of touch. Fox 6 now has music blogs?!?! How cool is that. Add to that the fact that two of my favorite bands of all time - The Police and Genesis - are touring again, this is going to be a very musical summer. Now if only the Dead and U2 would tour this summer, I would be in heaven.  Good Job Amy, Carlos and Cary in adding to our already excellent Blog-O-Sphere.

2. I believe Avery is guilty, but there are many unanswered questions. Like what did happen to that vile of blood. And how could he be guilty of killing her but not destroying the corpse? Unless that is what they will get the nephew on. I also think the prosecuter made a huge mistake when he said that only Steven Avery could have committed this crime. The nephew's case might be turned on that statement.

3. Spring is here, and that means soon time for BASEBALL! The Brewers look good this year, and I cant wait to get out to the Keg for a few games. Any chance of making the Blog-a-que a tailgate party?

4. It used to be that only the web team, Pip, Jen, Renee, Brad, Vince and Rob would blog. Now it seems like the whole staff at Fox 6 is blogging! That is so cool, and I am glad they are all getting in to it. No only if we could get Ted Perry to blog with us.....

5. What is wrong with the Idol voters. Why in the hell are Hailey and Sanjaya still there??? Get them out people! In my opinion, Melinda and Jourdin are the top two, but look out for my guy Chris Sligh. That boy can rock!

6. I figured Marquette out in the first round, but thought UW might have a chance to go a little farther... Like Elite 8.

7. Memo to Ted Thompson: We need a Running back, wide receiver and Tight end. Go get them! Spend some cap money!

8. Can Vince order up a week of 60's and no rain? I need the golf course to dry up. Im itching to get out and chace the little white ball!

9. Kenny K is back???? Word up my brother!

10. Less than three months till I take the plunge again and marry my soulmate. Lots to do in a short amount of time.

As many of you know, Terri and I had adopted a beautiful Beagle girl named Greta. After a couple of days, she wasnt acting right, and we took her to the vet. Greta had something called Pyrometa which is an infection of the part of her uterus left over from when she was spayed, by the Beagle rescue's vet. The cost was going to be $2,000 for emergency operation or she would die. Now, I dont know about the rest of you, but I dont have two thousand dollars lying around. We called the director of the rescue saying we would pay for part, and they should cover the rest, because she was sick when we got her.  We were told the only way to have the rescue pay is if we gave her up to them. (This is after they asked our vet to put her down which he said there is no way he would do that) To save her life, we gave up our girl. 

A few days later, I get a call from Greta's foster mom, and we have a long discussion about Greta. Come to find out that the only reason she got sick is that the shelter's vet butchered the spay, and left her infected. If we would have waited one week to adopt her, this would have happened in her foster home. She stated she wants us to have Greta back. It would be the right thing to do.

So between myself, and Greta's foster mom, we began emailing the directors of the shelter, pleading our case, and asking that Greta be returned to us. While we were waiting to hear, we went and saw Greta a couple of times times at her foster home. Each time we left happy, but in tears because I wanted to take her home.

I had to put her dog bed away, because I couldnt walk by it anymore.

Thursday  March 8th, I was at work (Terri works with me, just in another part of the building) a co-worker came to me and said  "You need to come, Terri is crying". My heart sank, and my stomach turned. I thought for sure this is bad news. I get in her office, and she is in tears. She hands me an email to read. She was crying happy tears. We could have her back.

Rather than wait for the foster mom to bring her up, i said to Terri that we should go and get her tonight. We had a happy renunion, and she is like a new dog. Happy, healthy, playing, using her beautiful beagle voice to AROOOOOOOO at the bunnies. She is still a Daddy's girl and a cuddler, but more playful at times.

One of the emails sent to the rescue by the foster mom stated "Adopting Greta is like adopting a child to this family. They have that much love. This is not just a dog, but family" She nailed it.

Im still here guys, just real wierd the last few weeks.. I'll inform you all very soon. Miss you all! Hope I havent been forgotten!

P.S. Greta is back home with us!!!!!!

I go away for 9 days, and there is a population explosion on our beloved My Fox Milwaukee! To everyone who has joined up in the last couple of weeks, Hello and Welcome! I will get around to reading your posts, and dropping some comments.
