The MyFoxPhilly.com and Fox 29 TV voice mails, e-mails and other inboxes are swamped with comments on the video that first aired on MyFoxPhilly, which showed police beating three shooting suspects.

We'd like your comments here to use on TV.

I think it would depend on the circumstances.

What is the the person suspected of? Or running from?

Is he/she known to have prior arrest?

It's human nature for cops to think of their own safety, just like anyone else.

Fox should be ashamed to have shown this video. Maybe they should show a video of the shooting the scums were running from. Philadelphia needs to be safer, if we have scum like the guys on the video resisting arrest and thinking they can do whatever they want, we will never be safe. The Philadelphia Police should take more control of the streets, if more scum like these guys saw that was happening, Then they would think twice about doing something that is against the law. Some how I do not believe these guys were beat for being polite and cooperative!

Are we forgetting something here? These people were in persuit. Criminals ...fleeing a criminal act.. You want to run? Take your chances when you get caught. I am so sick and tired about hearing how these poor criminals are being taken advantage of. Oh, the poor picked on black man. I took notice this week on the news ... and you know what? ... if it wasn't for all the poor exploited blacks, there would be NO news... or it would be all HAPPY news. Is Fox 29 racial profiling or is there a lot of crime being committed by blacks?? And these mothers on tv , crying my poor son... they should be arrested for raising scum. ... and I don't want to hear about being poor .. and disadvantaged... there are enough people in a black community to make it sustain itself ... but they bite the hand that feeds them, so the koreans have to go in and charge them double for expired food.

Perhaps you should do an expose' on what these officers have to deal with day in and day out, the stress, danger, and abuse they have to endure on a daily basis. Pick a pair of officers, and do a few tours with them. There is a reason that they (the police) have one of the highest,(if not the highest) suicide rates in the nation.

Oh, and if you do...Don't forget to SHOOT SOME VIDEO!!!

Fair and balanced........Remember?

I am disappointed with fox as well. Why doesn't the stroy include a description of the 3 men who were shot and their injuries; why doesn't fox news interview the parents of the three shooting victims instead of the parent of the three guys locked up by the police. When I was watching the news abd I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the one guy's mother said "I am still going through it" I smell mental "insurance pains" UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I read some of the comments made to Fox 29 about this incident. While I agree that the timing was inopportune, these officers were being excessive due to elevated emotions regarding the senseless and needless death of one of their own. As police officers, they should have had a better handle on their emotions. This act is childish. None of these men were responsible for the officers death. There was no need to be so very excessive. Drag them out the car, sure. Slam them up against the vehicle, why not. But kicking them, stomping them... into unconsciousness? Even if they did commit a crime, it's not the duty of police to punish them. That's why we have a judicial system, regardless of how fair or shoddy it is.

I don't think it was horrid of Fox to air this video. Just bad timing. Maybe if the station had went to the police with this first... I'm sure that there would have still been a story to report, and moreso, if it became an issue of the story being buried by the police (which I highly doubt), the station could run the story on their own, as the video is their property. But the time of collective mourning over the fallen officer - whose name I can't remember how to spell, so respectfully won't attempt - would have passed.

If you happen to be 3 low-lifes who just got done shooting some people. Don't expect to be talked to in a polite way when stopped by the PO-PO.

I truly appreciate FOX news for airing this video, and having the courage to live up to their responsibility of delivering the news to the community. My cousin was a police officer that was murdered in the line of duty last year, and I still see the acts of these police officers as inappropriate. They should lose their jobs and criminal charges should be brought against them. They had no right to attack these men as such. There was no immediate threat; none of these suspects were waving a firearm at these officers or tried to physically harm any of them from what this video shows. The one cops proceeds to kick one of the suspects as he is being restrained by three other officers, and we call this fair. These men are suppose to protect our community, and they have no right to violate a man’s right because they are under stress due to the lost of one of their own. Innocent until proven guilty is the code of the law, and these police officers had no right to use such excessive force in the handlings of these suspects. Whether these men had criminal records or not does give these officers the right to commit such an act. In this video, it does not appear that any of these cops are in fear of their own safety as twelve of them rush the car, and proceed to drag and beat these men. Thank you Fox news for exposing these police officers that have violated their responsibilities as protectors of the law.

In addition, Rest in Peace, Sean Bell.

Fox 29 should not be ashamed of anything, did you forget this is a news station "THEY REPORT THE NEWS" that's their job and they were doing it. The cops actions were excessive, they should have put the handcuffs on read them their miranda rights and halled them off to jail, not kick, stomp and beat them, unless they were resisting arrest, but unless I missed something I didn't see that. These are the kinds of actions that help the criminals get off and cost the city thousand's of dollars in civil law suites against the city. Don't blame Fox 29 for doing their job blame the those 15 cops that did not follow police procedure because from what I saw there were 3 guys on the grown so the cops safety at that point was not an issue. And further more all the other news stations would have done the same thing had they got it first.

im sorry what those cops did was as wrong as the guys they were beating, if anyone else beat someone like that we would be sitting in jail waiting court. the cops just get taking off the street while they get investigated. the may be the law but their not above it they have to follow it too. we should be thanking fox for airing this wrong doing not condemning them.

I totally understand why the police acted as they did. Anyone that can truly put themselves in that situation would also understand how it happened. I just pray that it does not take away from the fact that those men "wastes of human flesh" so carelessly jumped out of a car and started shooting people. I watch the news and see his "mother" interviewed and I am so convinced that nothing will change. How can you change things when it is impossible to get adults to understand how we are to live here on this earth!!! My Father or Mother would have joined in on the beating had they ever found out i did something like that. You wanna run around like thugs with guns and rob and shoot people..then you should be able to take a couple knuckles to the skull for it!!And the audacity of this "mother" getting on TV and saying what she said....HEY DOPE...if you would have paid attention to your kid and given him a nice home to grow up in and MAYBE disciplined him yourself...then the Police wouldn't have to do it for you. YOU should be ashamed of yourself and not prancing around on TV saying how wrong they were!! But I also see that you ran and got yourself a white lawyer real fast!!!!

There's no excuse for this behavior. It isn't a matter of safety for the police. They were under no threat from the men lying face down on the ground. This is simply a case of a gang of government thugs beating a non-government thug senseless.

I'm so tired of the general populous feeling sorry for criminals. People appear to have more sympothy for criminals [who don't care about you], rather then allowing police officers do their jobs. Fox 29, should not of put that on the air, but out of greed ... they did. So shame on them!! For those who feel sorry for the criminals ... remember this! They don't care about you. They'll rob, beat, rape, sell your child drugs .. do whatever it takes to survive! So don't pity them! Those that do .. you make me sick! We don't even put those sick bastards on death row, because it's not humane ... but "we" as society forget what sick animals they really are! Let the cops do their job!! If they were'nt doing anything wrong in the first place ... this would not of happened!

If it were my son involved i would tell him he was luck it was the cops who beat him because I may have given it to him worse. I've said it before, if their parents would have beat them when they needed it they most likely woudln't be on the streets in the first place.

Bravo Philly policemen. You did the beating their mother's should have done when they were young! I'm tired of these scumbags running the streets. We need to send a message out to these criminals, commit a crime, you get a good butt whooping you deserve! We should also start holding these loser "mothers" responsible for raising hoodrats that destroy our cities!

When you run from the police you should expect to be treated like a CRIMINAL. They were fleeing from a crime scene - lets say they were not stopped and shot someone else -- then the news would be all over the police for not catching them.

I do believe at times police can get carried away with their authority - but NOT in this instance. They ran -- they deserved to be stopped. Especially with the stress and heartache the force is currently going through - did they think they wouldn’t' be stopped. Obviously, they have not respect for the law they have been in trouble many times – they will never learn to be productive members of society.

As for the "mothers" going on TV - where were you when these "sons" needed to be raised to be law abiding citizens. Don't go crying on TV because they were FORCED to the ground to be arrested. They are criminals - and so should be treated that way. You would think differently if it was your child who was shot. We need criminals caught – whatever that takes – maybe that will deter some from committing crimes – instead they get a slap on the wrist.

Shame on you Fox 29 - for showing this footage the way you did. You should have more respect and appreciation for all the police officers patrolling your city. (The city is being name “Kiladelphia” - and you want to make a big deal about the police using "excessive force" on the people who are killing others.) WAKE UP this kind of force is needed at times (unfortunately).

I feel as though the negativity of you viewers was not needed if you look at it think about it if it was your family you would know how the victims family felt.I think it was racial to say that the family ran to get a white lawyer how do you know she ran to the white lawyer if you said she has no money the lawyer probaly wanted her.Not only the victims that you call scums do these kinds of things but all people white kids are blowing up colleges and making explosives and do we see the Police officers doing there job stoppping them from doing what they do.No!!!!!!I didnt know racism was still in America.

So are you trying to say they weren't running from the police that they were pulled out of their car and beaten up because they were not white.

I really don't care what their ethnicity is....if you commit a crime be prepared for the consequences. And given how the citizen has been, I'm not saying I think everyone whould be drug out and beaten but they are under tremendous pressure and some are calling these guys "victims" what about the people they were shoting at - what about the other people (civilians and police officers on the street that night). I do not think race had anything to do with the incident - it had to do with them being CRIMINALS.
