We NEED the truth

When I saw the news of Ben and Shawn's rescue I sat in awe. Dumbfounded by what I was seeing. I sat with my 12 year old and didn't fight back tears of joy for the kids, their friends and families and the entire community. It was indeed a glorious day.

Now we need to know the truth. It wasn't so long ago I was 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years old. I remember the fears of my youth. I imagine how I might have been controlled by a monster. I know I'm not alone when I say we need to know why he stayed.

Let's imagine an 11 year old boy who is already showing his rebelious side with a diamond in his ear. He lives in a rural area with his mother and step father. Maybe the home life isn't as rosey and sweet as we have been lead to believe. Then one day tragedy strikes and this boy is snatched from his bike and held against his will. After a time he realizes he does not have to go to school anymore. He is showered with gifts. He is allowed freedom in a city he has never experienced before. Months pass and, it makes me sick to think, he didn't want to go back. We don't know anything about sexual or physical abuse. We don't know what tactics Devlin might have used to brainwash Shawn if indeed he used any at all.

Devlin should no doubt spend the rest of his life being abused in one of our states finest prisons. Shawn can still be saved I believe. The only one question I would ask is, "was Shawn's rescue as joyful a day for him as the rest of the world?"

I think that is in the back of the minds of many people.Not many have the____s to speak up do to some negative reactions by some. Maybe the truth will come out of this and then again........
Devil-in needs to be miserable,tortured,publicly humiliated, and then a slow painful execution. A bung hole prison bunkhouse might "tickle Devil-in's fancy" and will not be any justice at all. I don't want my tax dollars supporting that disgusting fa ggot.

Why do we feel we need the truth about this? What business is it of ours to know exactly what happened in this ordeal? The people involved know what the "truth" is and that is all that matters. Just my $.02

We need to know the truth so we can train the youth of America to protect themselves from this kind of evil.

How is knowing every sorted detail about this case going to arm your kids with enough information to protect them from predators? No matter what you do or say to your children they can become victims at any time or place. You just have to be vigiliant and pray that no sick individual brings no harm comes to your child. Just my $.02

Just to clarify, The truth I was speaking of was not one of graphic details. It was more a truth of "state of mind". The truth of intent would be more accurate. If the truth turns out to be fear, we all know how fear is created and don't need to be told.

i know the truth.. a 300 lb, phycotic monster took 2 young boys, for his pleasure. i dont think shawn having a pierced ear had anything to do about it, infact at the time of his abduction, he wasent wearing it if you remember the discription back then. a kid that age wants to be with his friends and prolly liked school.. why are people condeming a 11 year old ... i know that too.. its because these people crave attention and some one else is getting it, if not found mostlikly shawn would be gone and ben would have been the missing child of four years or more. like i told ya in another post stlaj, stupid is in the dictionary between sh** and sypillis, look it up

You are right we all want to know the truth, but I would not want the world to know what happen to my child or if it was me i would not the world to know what happen to me. It is truly non of our business.

How do you KNOW anything Rosie. Were you part of the abductions? Did you live in the home with Shawn and Devlin? Oh I guess you have some super secret inside information that nobody else has. Truth is that you know nothing more than what you believe to be true in your own mind. BTW....I tried to look it up in the dictionary but could not find the word "sypillis". I also could not find "phycotic", "discrpition", "condeming" or "mostlikly". But my favorite one has to be "wasent"......lol. CLASSIC

if you would read the blogs posted by people who know the story your wouldent have to speculate on stupid stuff like pierced ears. read the blogs posted blair, who knows the hornbecks and there is one named beaufort mom that knows ben. they've already told the stories, and some people still wanna blame it on a a child.. if you had a 16 year old daughter that was having sex with her 18 year old boy, thats a crime against a child, her willing or not, so why do peple think that its ok for a monster to kidnap a 11 year old boy for 4 years.
