Hello everyone!!!

I'm finally blogging. If you visit here occasionally, you will find that I won't just do the small talk thing, but when there's something that's near and dear to my heart, I'll be here day and night if I have to.

That brings me to the purpose of my first entry...

As many of you know, I run a yearly project here at KTTV during the Christmas Holidays that benefits the Toys For Tots Foundation. During December I host a number of events which are aimed at raising money in order to take thousands of underprivileged children from throughout Southern California on a fantastic Christmas Shopping spree.

One of those events is a Celebrity Golf Tournament. Last year's inaugural tournament was played at Candlewood Country Club and was a great success. So much, in fact, that I've had to find a larger facility for this year's event. Please mark Friday, December 7th down on your calendar. If you are a golfer, know someone who is or maybe your company has a number of golfers in house...I am thrilled to extend an invitation for you to be part of this exciting tournament. We have agreed to move the tournament to Industry Hills/Pacific Palms Golf & Conference Center in the City of Industry. It is a fabulous facility and will make a wonderful site for this event.

The official invites haven't gone out yet, but if you are interested in sponsoring a foursome in the tournament, or would like to play as a single,I would be more than honored to have you join us. Please give me a call at 909-946-0498. Most likely you will have to leave a message, but I promise that I will call you back personally.

On behalf of thousands of youngsters who will enjoy a nice Christmas because of your generosity, I thank you in advance.

Best wishes

Rick Lozano

I understand that you guys cannot cover everything but answer this. A 15 year old in San Bernardino was shot over jealousy last week. This morning I heard about the 5 kids/teens that were shot at a house party; my comment is, on the 1st of July, there was some shooting at a house party, and a young man was shot in the back as he was trying to run to safety. He was shot twice, and as he was running he tripped and fell over a small brick wall, knocked a chunk of skin out of his head and broke his neck. He was my son’s best friend. They had been friends since the 5th grade and the young man was 19 years old. Do you know that it took the ambulance over 2 hours to arrive? My son ran 6 blocks to get his friend’s father in which the father, my son and 5 other friends put the young man in the back of his father’s truck only to be told by one hospital that they did not treat gunshot wounds and told by a second hospital that he had to be transported to a 3rd hospital. He laid there on life supports for 4 days before he went home to meet GOD. This too happened in Sn Bdo. You know 2 weeks later, law enforcement still had not caught the shooter? I requested that a $25,000 reward be put out and then I bet the boys’ mother would turn him in. My request was never answered. Ironically, my son and 2 friends were standing in front of his apartment when they saw the 18 year old murderer. They chased him down beat the crap out of him while the girlfriends called the police

with the help of other members in the complex. I thank God that nothing happened to them. My son watched his friend get shot and he watched his friend die. He was there every moment with him in the hospital along with the family and other friends. I know that I sound rhetorical and I haven’t gotten straight to the point, but this young man was like my son. He always had a comic sense of humor, always smile and truly believed in God. He made everybody’s day from all walks of life and was truly loved. Why is it that many kids today do not value life the way we once did? You know the killer was arguing with a 16 year old over a girl and this young man was not the intended victim. Please continue to pray for us and our extended family. Services were Friday the 20th of this month, but it is after everyone is gone that we will all really need support, especially the parents and my son.

Rick, Rick, Rick!!!

Toys-for-Tots! That's it. I cannot think of a better organization to partner with!

My name is Angelo Bell and I've watched you on Fox for as long as I've been in LA. I'm a big fan. I'm also an independent filmmaker about to embark on my first major feature film. The film is called "Broken Hearts Club" and it's a remake of a short I made in 2006. I'm funding the film myself and I've established a website (http://www.brokenheartsclubfilm.com) to collect donations via a very cool membership called, THE MILLION MEMBER BROKEN HEARTS CLUB. Membership fees go directly to a production fund. However, there is a saying in the industry that "making a film isn't like curing cancer." It's cool but no one's going to win a Nobel Prize. Well, perhaps we cannot cure cancer but maybe, just maybe, we can put a smile on a kid's face! I've been looking for a worthy charity to donate 10% of all membership proceeds. I believe "Toys-for-Tots" is perfect. Coincidentally, we shoot in December and wrap just before Christmas. How perfect would it be to make that donation to Toy's for Tot's while wrapping our wonderful, classy romantic comedy? Contact me and let's get started!

Me and my Mom used to donate a Toy every year to a foundation out of San Antonio, Texas (where I was born and raised). It's good to see a fellow Texan doing the same thing ;)

On another note... on Friday's show you did a segment from a Warehouse in Corona but there are no details or information on how to get there. Can you please post the address or location?? I am currently repairing my home.
Thanks so much,
Crystal Garcia

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN:
This city is in a uproar over this video called (Rialto City) More especially the Rialto PD. Yesterday they raided my neighbors house looking for this Cam-Capone guy. On the front page of The Sun newspaper it says that the Rialto Chief of the PD has tried numerous times to ban this video from YouTube.com and has not had any success. I've viewed this video and its been viewed by others over 40,000 times! If you'd like to see for yourself and get a better understanding of what I'm talking about, that has this city in such an uproar, you can copy and paste this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy3Dq0-svtY I've done my own investigation on this Cam-Capone guy and he is constantly on MySpace.com you can check that out too. You can view a more personal side of him by visiting this link: www.myspace.com/camcapone909

Hey Rick!!!
I have a story for you... Back in the 80's you interviewed a local figher named Frankie Duarte and you got in the ring with him, and Frankie popped you in the head! Great stuff! But the story is, Frank Duarte has been teaching kids boxing at the Venice Boys & Girls Club for a little over a year now, and he is passionate about teaching kids to box. He is getting nearly no support in his effort from the Boys & Girls Club, as they only appear to like to have boxing as an activity. They have no ring to spar in and very little equipment. Frank is still a very funny guy, and has developed into a great trainer.

Hi Rick,

Know you do a lot of reporting for the Inland Empire, so thought you would like to know that the City of San Bernardino is trying to eliminate the K-9 Arson unit. Mike Koster is Diesel's handler and is also an Arson Investigator you can email him at Mike Koster
E-mail Address(es):
koster_MI@sbcity.org

I was hoping you enlighten your viewers about this loss to their community, even though I live in Chino, Mike and Diesel have helped Ontario, Riverside, Rialto, Fontana communities just to mention a few, please don't let this program be eliminated. Mike has raised $15,000 and would like to raise another $15,000 in order to keep the K9 program going with the city not picking up the cost.. Can you help! my email address is ltmy904@yahoo.com.

Hello Mr. Lozano
I watch you on tv at christmas time and its beautiful what you do for the children. This year i was hoping maybe you can help me with my four children. I'm a single parent who just kind of got back on her feet after being homeless for six months. We lived at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles and recently got an apartment for my kids but we are barely making it from month to month. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me give my kids a nice christmas. Thank you so much.

Thank U Rick!!

I cant tell you what an inspiration you are to the Los Angeles Community, you have motivated so many to get involved with thier communities - me included. This year I have arranged for my XMAS TREE lot be a host site for the Toys for Tots program - it was too easy and I owe it to you for making me see how easy it is to be involved. So any suggestions on how to get the word out there about my lot being a site?
