I didn't know there is Hills in the Mississippi River area? No DetroitLover, he's making a point that when the Nation Guard came in to rescue people that lives there they didn't get shot at. When the Authorities told them to leave they left and when they lost their house and all of their belongings they didn't cry and wanted a handout and free housing and sponge off the Government. I live in the Gulf area now and yes, people are still living off the Government.
Don't you see the difference in the two? Why would New Orleans and the Mississippi area be any different? what makes the two different?

Flooding in Iowa is much different than N.O. People in low lying areas simply retreat to higher ground. When the levees broke in N.O. people were trapped. Even the highway was barricaded to keep them from crossing over the bridge on foot. Do you remember the stories of men with shotguns blocking bridges to keep the people from N.O. from leaving low ground? Essentially N.O. is a bowl that was filled with water.
In '08 whole towns in the Mid-west were flooded. The people were taken in by churches, community centers, and even individuals. But there was NO shortage of supplies, NO mad rush to evacuate - you know when a river is going to crest and what areas are going to be flooded. The mid-west and N.O. were kinda the same but not really.

P.S. How can A person help themselves in a flood without a Boat? No food, No fresh water. The only people left in N.O. were people too poor, or not bright enough to get out before it hit. If all of the stores were closed down, where were they going to get food or water? Our government? No, you make it seem as if that's to much to ask for. The good part about The Bridge was when brotha jesse landed in his naacp rented helicopter. He told all of his brothas and sistas that he had 7 buses coming to get them..them mammies were kissing his hand and hugging him..The buses never showed up, cause there wasn't any. The destruction of Katrina happend in about a 24 Hour Period, twenty-four Hours. I know you hillbillys are tough But I would pay big money to see your Dumb Azz try and sand bag a levee during a hurricane. The mid west flooding happened over days and weeks. The proof is obvious to anyone that wants to see it....Look at any major city and the slums in it. Who put them there, Who made them that way, Who killed over 7400 negros in the streets last year..Who is the biggest drain on American cities, taxes and resources..And the point was is that there were no negros sandbagging during Katrina or Rita, just lots of looting and complaining, just like it is every day in places like Detroit, just looting and complaining....
