Being in the media comes with perks.
As one of our beloved photographers put it, "You get to the front row, behind the scenes and into places no one else gets to go"...
... Unless we go to Lambeau.
Every time I've been up to Green Bay for a game, I've been in the parking lot, I've been in the concession ring... I've even been down to the Media room where they serve delicious catering for us hard working crews. But I've never been able to sit out there during a game. To sit among the sea of green and gold and watch our boys play. (*Sigh*).
I did sneak out there to catch a play, though! It was glorious. Maybe if I save a couple dozen paychecks I'll be able to afford tickets of my own!
Tuesday night after game 3 of the World Series Ted Perry shared his dislike for St. Louis Cardinals fans.
Well... I had the pleasure of spending the past weekend with said fans in Missouri. Luckily, I flew in the morning after the Cards made it to the World Series. Even luckier... They won game one that Saturday. I say this only because after spending four and a half years in Missouri I have learned that the natives are WILD about their sports. When Blues fans tell you they bleed blue they're probably not lying. So if the Cardinals did anything but win there probably would have been riots in the streets. They're insane. But I guess that's what makes it so fun. After the win, drinks were a-flowing and a good time was had by all (even the fair weather fans!) So the reply I gave to the TV screen when Ted made his comment was... "They're nuts but they're fun to be around."
Well.
Maybe not if you're a Tigers fan.
