Barack Obama is "The Man" in Europe, pundits are saying.

European governments and politicians are not so sure.

Barack Obama visited Europe this week, only the second time in 4 years.  Obama is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee responsible for the region. The newspaper Le Monde pointed out on Thursday that Obama has never asked to meet the European Union's ambassador in Washington.  Not once.

A member of the German Council on Foreign Relations said, “The Obama who spoke tonight did not put all his cards on the table.” Mr. Obama “tried to use all the symbolism of Berlin to indicate that as president he would reach out to Europe,” he said.

A former French foreign minister said, “I don’t think Europe is a major stake for” Mr. Obama, adding, “It’s the support that Europeans can bring to his politics that matters."    Mr. Obama indulged in "some pro-German demagogy on nuclear weapons to get applause”.

When interviewed about Obama, Europeans were not entirely sure what Obama stood for. "Is he a socialist?'' they asked.  Interesting question.

Sounds very much like the Obama we get here in America, doesn't it?  "What can I say that you want to hear?" is his mantra, and not all Europeans are falling for it, obviously, although he has his adoring fan club, again, just like in America.  The New York Times calls it "Obama Fever".

“On the positive side, we can expect somebody who reasons the way we do in Europe,” said Pierre Rousselin, the foreign editor of Le Figaro, a French newspaper.

And that's a GOOD thing?

(This is an original editorial written by myself, with info from several public sources- The NY Times, Media Net, and CNN- edited for space, but not changed, along with my own editorial comments.  I think it is responsible to reveal that.)

toadie has that right on! EXACTLY! The Muslim loves this attention and newly found fame as a *Rock Star* (just like Princess Michelle is dreaming of being the new Jackie O)...this is ALL a chrade and I believe this my in fact backfire on the arrogant Muslim. The Muslim is acting like he's already elected...this will hopefully sway the undecided voters to vote for the much more qualified McCain. I really think this shows weakness in his experience in international affairs!

I like how the liberals are already claiming victory in November because much of Europe appears to support Barry Hussein.

Note to the liberals, who can't seem to grasp history of any sort:

About 4 years ago, 30 of 35 "friendly" nations polled for Kerry (France was especially vocal in their support for Bush's removal from office).

Kerry was also ahead in American polls (the ones that matter) by a large margin this time last election.

Here's to history repeating itself.

Good points, GI! Yes, the NYTimes said that the Europeans think O would be "more flexible, with less American ideology", and that "Europeans want America back". They look at that as positive, but I feel exactly the opposite- why would we want to move backward?

Oh, and they all say that if O is not elected, it will be because he's black. So be it- they can and will think what they want- we are above that nonsense, and that's why they want us to come down to their level- to prove that we are no better than they are and do what they want us to do.

I like the pic Mom! hehe He looks just like the "freckled face kid" that Marilyn is always talking about. I noticed that all the beers have some pretty big heads on them....just like O's! I hope we don't end up having to say "I told you so", after this donut fools enough to get elected. He's gonna screw us all!

You know, I was thinking about that. He thinks President means Ruler. If elected, he will be sorely surprised at what a thankless, stressful task he has taken on- can't just show up, groom, and vote "present" every day! If he chain smokes now...

Europe will end up seeing that he is just a man, and an inexperienced one at that, and that he will not fulfill their every desire- free trade, for example.

If he reverts to his socialist policies, he will be a one-termer. If not, then we will all pay more for a while, and take a step backward, but it will come home to roost for the Dems.

Another thing that will come home to roost will be the spread of extremist Muslim terrorism, emboldened by their opinion of O the Appeaser. He will find that Kumbaya won't work, and he will be forced to engage. And our soldiers will be there for us, because they are the backbone of our country.

When we have taken 20 years off his life, like we always do to our presidents, he will wish he had stayed in his cushy Senate seat, writing books about himself and relaxing with his criminal friends, dreaming about what could have been.

This man is a frightning nut job hell bent on turning un into what the rest of the world already is. I don't like that thought.

I don't either, and that's why I thought the Europeans saying "he would reason more like we do" was very telling. WE are the big success story, no matter what the nay-sayers claim, and Europe's agenda has been and always will be to teach us a lesson- to make up for their dismal social and economic failures in comparison. Their gov'ts are actually getting more conservative, because they have seen that socialistic societies just don't work. I'm afraid we will have to take a dip before some people see that.

Haha! Too many sharks in the water for ya?

McCain better stop this defensive stuff, ignore the rock star's antics, and start hammering him on the issues and his campaign flip-flops and his associates- the Dems who are planning to protest the DNC have brought up more legit criticisms than McCain has- I don't like his campaign very well so far. He needs to remind O, publically, that the VOTERS are the HERE!
