John Coleman, former meteoroligist for WLS in Chicago and founder of the Weather Channel, is speaking out against global warming.  Here is the opening paragraph of an article posted at the ICECAP (International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project) website:

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus. "

Someone call Al Gore!  The ice caps on Mars on melting!  (I'm sure they'll find a way to blame the Bush administration.)  I just read an article that explains how the ice caps on the south pole of Mars have been diminishing over the last three summers.  Gee could it be that a long-term increase in solar irradiance is causing climate changes and not man?  That's what the head of the St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia thinks.  In fact, he believes that changes in the sun's heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.  Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.
"Man-made greenhouse warming has made a small contribution to the warming seen on Earth in recent years, but it cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance."
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, humans are very conceited to think they have that big of an impact in the "grand scheme" of things.
