PhxDragon's Blog

I see so many blog entries that are quoting or linking to questionable sites.  If you are a true intellectual American, you would do the research and look at more than one website to gather the information to form an opinion.

MSNBC is not a RELIABLE source.  That particular branch of a network was created in response to Fox News Channel, and is directed to be the opposing factor in anything that is said by FNC.  They can't even agree with others in their own network (as in evidence by the bickering and fighting ON SCREEN during the DNC), much less be relied upon to bring any part of truth in broadcasting.

By equal terms, some of the FNC stories need to be researched as well, as there will always be things left out to be able to make headlines.

During my tenure in news reporting, I was told ONCE at the beginning of my service there, to make sure I had all the angles covered.  I had a relatively easy beat, courts and police in 25 counties in three states.  When I could not verify any morsel of information on a story, it was either not included, or the story was not broadcast at MY choice.

I would not air half-truths or heresay.  I apparently had more scruples than some of the "National Cable Networks" have today.

Remember:  Informed is educated.  The more information you have, the more intelligent the conversation and enjoyable the blog is to be read.  I have read many blogs here, and have been educated by many writers.  We do have a group of well read and informed bloggers here.  Unfortunately, we have another group of inciters and conspiracy theorists who put their smut on the blog and then delete any reply that doesn't include their point of view.

Yes, I have deleted entries, but only when they personally attacked another blogger.  I did not delete any blog due to their stance on any topic.  Hopefully, everyone else can do the same.

Now.  I am through venting.  Let's elect a female Vice-President now.

Just think by 2012 Sarah Palin will have the experience and position to really run against Hillary. She is a true conservative who will stand up to the Liberal left.

The rumor mill has already fired up to high gear and is freely flowing. Turns out the stories are just that, stories. I expected nothing less from the desperate Obama supporters.

Ya know Dragon there are a lot of people out there that take what the MSM says as the absolute truth and how they do it is way beyond me. I always try to research what I say and when I cant find anything on it I try to leave it alone. I just hope that people will vote with there brains (what litle some have) and not with there ears. My ole man always told me "dont believe anything you hear, half of what you read and really question what you see" and ya know he has always been right.

Phoenix, you are correct. The blogger on DailyKos is a Newsweek employee and he runs that blog. There is an agenda these days by the MSM to control what the general public sees, reads and hears. The agenda is to brainwash the minds of those that don't have access to other sources. There are still vast areas of the country that doesn't have internet and they only get MSM on the TV and Fox I might add. But the MSM villianizes FOX as an arm of George Bush and for that reason many people will not watch it. So what are they left with, Gannett controls most newspapers, Time has a lock on many printed magazines and CBS,NBC and ABC are all in the pot for Obama. It is a concerted effort by George Soros and Huffignton and many Hollywood types to fund and control what we get on the news. Regards,

While I think categorizing Fox as an arm of George Bush is a bit out there, one should point out in fairness the vastness of Fox's ability to push an agenda if they will. Rupert Murdoch owns Fox News, but also has a vast media empire that spans the entire globe. He has been called "The most powerful man in America - and the world - is the one you'll never get to vote for, but who controls who gets elected or not and what laws pass all over the globe." Quite an accomplishment as I see it. True, maybe, maybe not. His holdings other than in America include: Australia, Scotland, Japan, The U.K., Italy, and that doesn't even include newspaper holdings. The list is way to long to show here, and anyone's elses holdings pale in comparison to his huge media empire.

Murdoch's agenda in the UK alone has included union-busting, pushing first capitalism in China (i.e. his right to make money) than a reversal to a softer stance on communism in return for the right to own media there. He has done nearly everything possible to undo the BBC. The New York Times even said "Rupert Murdoch is Britain's most powerful non-Briton. His media outlets are so influential that critics charge him with single-handedly destabilizing the monarchy and snatching the elections." Does Murdoch have an agenda? Possibly, I guess, but I'm not going to cross that line. In the Fall of '2003 Murdoch was threatened by a possible action of Congress that limited the coverage of one Corporation with several outlets to 35% of American households, which meant he would have to sell off some of his holdings. (He was at 39%) He put his lobbyists and lawyers to work, and voila, Congress changed the percentage to 39%. Personally, I think it's a bit dangerous for one man to have this much control on the entire media, from TV to magazines to newspapers to production studios etc. And just for kicks, he also owns MySpace.com, National Geographic Channel, and DirectTV.

Ever think a non-office man could grow so powerful? Who ever imagined nations would let a single man, who is not even from their land dominate them so? There is one man alive today who is the most powerful person on planet Earth, and it isn't the one in the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. It's the one that has the power, and uses it to determine who lives in that White House, as well in capitol houses all over the globe......

Nice biography jteam, while he may be what you say I just don't see him doing the same things the liberal media is doing. I don't see the outright lies about Democrat candidates like the KOS and Huffington who are funded by another very wealthy person, George Soros. And if you follow FOX National they make a point to have both sides give their views and commentaries. I don't see the same level of fairness on the other MSM stations. And how cares what someone owns if he runs them in a professional manner. All the businesses he owns have good reputations.

NoFear, let's hope he doesn't....it seems many have an agenda, I'll give you that. I guess my point is that with a conglomerate as big as Murdoch's it's hard to stay informed, and balanced. You just don't know who owns what these days. What's more, I think it's a bit scary that one person holds so many cards in the deck. Human nature reminds us that power corrupts, Murdoch certainly has enough power that if he wants to push an agenda, whatever it may be, he easily could.

Jteam I agree, that is one of the nice things about these blogs. It allows the common folk a media of our own. And as long as what is posted by us and WE keep responsible then the heck with the MSM. I think there are some on here that present great pieces, and the banter gets good and sometimes too overboard but we still get our say most times.
