Hmm...after all that "don't cry when McCain wins stuff" it was Obama who was the winner and is going to become our next president. But what was that when McCain gave his last speech, his supporters booed every time Obama's name was mentioned. Republicans... they never want to get along with other races or cultures different than their own Christian culture. Oh well. I don't care for now. I'm too happy!
After all that "the black people are going to riot when Obama loses." Well he didn't lose, he won and there were no arrests in Chicago that night. Last time I checked, barely any arrests across the nation. Plus it was kinda funny that the only southern state to vote for him, was our very own Florida. My family in D.C. (which Obama also won) was so happy we live in such an "open-minded, black supporting state." I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was the larger counties that won it for him. But probably what got the votes were the younger generation voting.
After all that struggling, campaigning, and fighting over the past couple of decades, Black Americans finally have time to celebrate this one glass ceiling shattering.
The time for us to unite is now. So don't keep moping like that guy at the grocery store who tried to tell me to take off my Obama button that I forgot was even on my jacket, which I didn't remove. Keep saying stupid things like "how can I raise my child under a black president?" ...My parents raised my brother and I under white presidents. Stop trying to separate us by race and religion (I shall name no names, you know who you are, even if I don't...which I kinda don't) let's unite for the greater good and to honor our future President. Barack Obama!

I was on the phone with one of my 15 (yes, I have 15) great uncles, and he told me the strangest thing. Don't vote for Obama. I blinked. This was the uncle who was proud I was a democrat, who was glad I was so political. When I asked him why, he heard rumors of a uprising in Tennessee from the true American Terrorists, the KKK. They're saying if Obama wins, they'll be attacking all the blacks and Jews (why the Jews, I'm unsure), which is unfair because we did nothing wrong. I've met black people who are for McCain.
Now many of my older relatives are begging every one of their children who live or go to school in the south (ex. my cousin who goes to college in Kentucky, my other cousin in Nashville, my parents of course who live here in Fl. and so on) to come back to D.C. where it's "safer", but if the KKK really do try to uprise, no place will be safe. I also heard that the KKK will rally across the country. I thought they were just rumors.
At least until those two men in in Tennessee were arrested. Yeah that kinda freaked me out. Now I'm hearing rumors that there are people who want to get rid of all the "non-white" people. These are the terrorists at home we should be getting rid of, but of course our government (democrats and republicans) alike are ignoring this threat. Yet they're expecting black people to riot if Obama loses the election (which he won't! : P) in places like D.C. and Detroit.
So my main question is this (and I want to hear everyone's opinion on this, I won't be deleting comments)
Why is it when white people threaten to riot or kill innocents, it's not taken as seriously as when even a tiny rumor of black people gathering is taken like a riot? I've heard the stories of random black people getting killed just for walking down the street or looking at a person the "wrong way"
Honestly why isn't someone really looking for these people? That's like those hate crimes in Texas when Bush was governor, very little was done to deter black on white and white on black violence. (guess which one is more common...I honestly don't know, but it's probably a bit even)
Actually there is a study, I (a black person) am more likely to be killed by another black person, than a white person...still it would be nice if people would take these kind of threats seriously.
Here's another message for those who care :)
Stand up, vote, don't allow those election officials to deter you with long lines! I've heard rumors that the number of black voters is rising. That's good, it's time our people started to care more. We as the American Race should care more about who we vote for, not just because they look good on paper or on TV.

Hopefully you've read the constitution and the bill of rights, but if not, let's review the first amendment.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
I was watching this add on TV last night, forgot who or what it was for, but it showed a man in a suit with some protestors and what did the anncoucer say? That the guy was seen with "radicals." Hmm, so suddenly using our right to assemble and protest freely puts us in the same league as a bunch of bombers and communist spies? Yeah, that's a little wrong, don't you think? I'm not sure if this was a Republican or Democratic add, more than likely Republican, because Republicans have always had problems allowing people to have and use their constitutional rights.
But isn't calling peaceful protestors radicals a bit hypocritical. To some protestors, the government doesn't have the peope interests at heart and many feel Bush sold out his own country. In their eyes, he's the radical. I even looked up the word radical in the dictionary and this was the tenth result:
a person who advocates fundamental political, economic, and social reforms by direct and often uncompromising methods.
...Sound even a tiny bit familiar? I'll you with little bit from the Declaration of Independance.
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Take the hint people! Demand a better congress and demand a better president! Cool huh? this is how i used to do secret messages in my emails.

It's almost here. Halloween the most fun time of the year. Candy, costumes, and of course, pranks. Like Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas says "Life's no fun without a good scare" The thing I'm afraid of? Well, I found this clip that shows them. The two mummy hags are the thing I fear. Just follow the link if you want to see my fear, it takes about 3 minutes to get to the part I'm talking about, but you'll see what I mean. Resident Evil 4's chainsaw hags! (If you have played this game, you know what I mean, the first time you play, you either jump, scream or cuss a few times)
Why do the chainsaw hags scare me? Well, the one without the apron looks like an aunt of mine who used to hug me until my back cracked mostly...shudder. Another note, I'm not all that fond of mummys either. So, what do you fear? Vampires, witches, things that go bump in the night? It's all in good fun, it's almost Halloween after all. All presidental jokes about Obama and McCain will be deleted as a fair warning.

When I was in elementary school in D.C., the students had to pick an electon song. (it was always a song we only voted for because our teacher said it was good) I don't know what you do in FL.
So how do you prepare do you prepare your kids and grandkids old enough to vote for the electon? Get them excited that there will be a new president?
Do you even do anything to get them and yourself excited?
...Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
For the record, if I had to pick a song for this year's electon, I'd choose Future in My Hands by Aimee B. Great song, a foreign song, but good. If you want to hear it, I'll try to post the song on the music message board, but I can only find it on YouTube with violent footage...so far.
Let's get excited for a new (and hopefully better) President.

According to one of my professors, stevia is a sweetner that 7X sweeter than sugar and healthier? Is he right about this miracle plant or was he just getting my hopes up. And if he is right, why are we now using sweetners that have things like fermaldehyde and aspartame in it? Just curious

This will be my last blog for at least two weeks. I'm going back home to D.C. to settle some issues with my mother's brothers (something about my innocent cousin in jail needing a better lawyer), and the closest thing to a computer in my Grandmother's house is the VCR, so I'll leave with little nagging thought in the back of my mind.
Are we all just hypocrites in this society? Think about this.
People fight tooth and nail to have speeding laws enforced, but than when we go to buy a car, we won't buy it if it doesn't go over 100 MPH.
We allow stars and actors to walk around doing inappropriate things, but than are surprised when children start acting the same way.
Men use the cheesiest pick up lines in the history of the world and are angry when the girl laughs at him. What did they expect? A phone number? (I've done that before. Laughed outloud in his face. Sorry dude, but that was beyond cheesy)
Idiots get angry when you look at them like an idiot.
In high school you read the Declaration of Independence as you're told, but get into trouble when you point out the part about how good people overthrow a government that doesn't seem fit.
People will work hard on a farm so they can move into town where they can make more money so they can move back to the farm.
In the office people talk about baseball, shopping or fishing, but when they are out at the game, the mall or on the lake, they talk about business.
Americans are the only people in the world who will pay $.50 to park our car while eating a $.25 sandwhich.
This is a country that has more food to eat than any other country in the world and more diets to keep people from eating it.
People run from morning to night trying to keep their earning power up with their yearning power.
This country is supposed to be the most civilized Christian nation on earth, but still can't deliver payrolls without an armored car.
People yell for the Government to balance the budget, then take the last dime they have to make the down payment on a car.
This country whips the enemy in battle, then gives them the shirt off their backs.
Americans get scared to death if we vote a billion dollars for education, then are unconcerned when they find out they are spending three billion dollars a year for cigarettes.
We all know the line-up of every baseball team in the American and National Leagues but don't know half the words in the "Star Spangled Banner". (For me, it's vice versa I know very little about baseball)
People will spend half a day looking for vitamin pills to make them live longer, then drive 90 miles an hour on slick pavement to make up for lost time.
People will tie up their dog while letting their sixteen year old run wild.
This country has more experts on marriage than any other country in the world and still have more divorces.
Do I really need to go on and on?

Just read it and answer my question. Do you think this is funny or not? I have this on one of my notebooks for school and so far, only one person thought it wasn't funny and that was a teacher too. Harsh. So is it funny, true, or just something that the creator of the Simpson's did to kill time? He has a few books filled with comics like these and they're all hilarious in my opinion.

It seems everytime I question something, there is a sign. Just today, I am telling the truth, I was listening to my music, a song called "The Wicked End" by Avenged Sevenfold. A line from the son is "We've grown into the number six hundred sixty six." Now an hour later, I go to school to get my resistration form for the new semester and what is the last number on there? 666.00 Okay...odd.
I'm doing caculations for spreadsheets and the last number of the last three entrys are 6. Okay I'm reading too much into this, so I think, let's get away from numbers. So I go home, I'm looking all over the place for something when I heard a familar bark. My new puppies are in my room, rummaging through my old things. Including my box filled with things I've found throughout the years, things that I believe someone is trying to tell me something, including prayer cards I've found in library books, stones that say "believe", "faith", and "praise." These rocks I've found on sides of the road over the past seven years. They even found my angel tarot cards! The only cards that list the highest angels including Nemesis, Gabriel, and they even found my children's bible. Most of these things survived, but not without some bite marks.
I am freaking out! Is this really a sign?! Has God finally given up on me or something?

Why should it matter if our next president is religious?
In my experience, just because you're religious, doesn't make you nice (the scars on my skin and in my heart are proof enough for me). Just because you worship God, doesn't make you a good person, it's your personal honor and moral system that judges it.
People say I'm innocent, and kind, but when I tell them my religious belief, they suddenly turn ugly. Like the other day, a man had a shirt listing different religions and insulting. He was smiling that I read it, but when I looked at him and asked "How come Christianity isn't on there?" He turned bright red and stormed away like I had just said a bad word. It was a simple question.
People also say I'm still young, what do I know? I know what it's like to be discriminated against because of my personal beliefs and having to listen to what my Jewish friend has to put up with when he wears his Star of David in the open instead of tucking into his shirt that he normally does.
So, why should it matter if McCain and Senator Obama are religious? Aren't there more important things to worry about?

Like it says, now that she is released, will she really help people search for her daughter? Will she even be able to help with that new ankle bracelet she has? Or will she continue to stay as silent as a mouse. What are your thoughts and opinions on this?
Will she actually help the bounty hunters and searchers, will she cooperate with the police or will this be one of those cases that will never be really solved, like the Ramsey girl in Colorado?

"Bleeding hearts" this and "Bleeding heart liberals" that. Last time I checked, your heart is supposed to bleed, it pumps blood throughout your body supplying it with oxygen and other things that you sort of need to survive. If it doesn't, than more than likely you won't live very long and you won't be doing a lot.
Like your heart is supposed to bleed, you would think that most people would care about other people's suffering or injustice, but apparently not. If we keep separating ourselves saying just because we have different views on a subject, we can't get along. My friends in high school were pro-life, I was the only one in the group who was pro-choice, and they knew that, but they put that aside and we still got along very well.
Can we really vote for someone who is surround by a few dozen conservative bigots who are practically zombies because their own hearts rarely bleed except when it's a good photo op or news story? Or should we vote for someone whose heart bleeds more often and who actually cares about people across the country and the world without having the media over his shoulder?

This is the story of two co-workers, one is a man, the other is a woman. The woman started almost seven months before the man, and the man managed to slip pass a step in our corporate ladder.
The situation. The woman had to ask our boss to have the information packet and test questions in order to go up to the next level. The man didn't have to ask, and was handed the packet with no questions asked or really answered. The man works hard, but works slowly so the clock will keep running and he gets overtime. If the woman tries to do that, she could get into trouble. The man also is disorganized and leaves his workstation a mess, while the woman does not. Also this man isn't even fully trained yet, like the woman, yet he is being promoted to the same level as the woman which she says is unfair because she had to tell the manager many times that she was due for her promotion.
I also work here and he got his pay raise after six months. I've been there seven months and still haven't gotten a raise, and yes, I'm a woman if you haven't already figured this out. Of course the woman, is upset about this and we feel that he is suddenly getting this special treatment because he is one of the few men who work at our store. In the staff of about thirteen people including the manager, only four of them are men including the manager, the rest of us are women ages 20- about 50 (she won't tell me her age, but she is a grandmother).
So is this a case of gender discrimination? If so, what can I do to help my co-worker and whom should I call to get some form of imformation?
