Last night, I did a story that was difficult to do. A story about a baby boy who never got a chance to experience life, love, and the things we tend to take for granted, as human beings. These are the stories that make it difficult for me to sleep at night. Cause’ no matter what I do … or no matter what anyone does… Corey Henry has passed on.

I’m not a mother, but children are my world.

The investigation into the death of 2-month old Corey Henry takes a new turn and has opened up new wounds for his family.

It was September 24th, when Corey's Aunt walked into the Ribbons & Bows Daycare Center, in Wilmington, Delaware, to pick him up.

The aunt found Corey in his crib, unresponsive.

The 2-month-old was rushed to the hospital, but Corey was pronounced dead on arrival.

Back then, detectives found no foul play involved, and the daycare owners were freed from any criminal charges.

Now, the Medical Examiner's investigation reveals baby Corey had too much Diphenhydramine in his system.

That's a chemical usually found in Benadryl and other over-the-counter products.

Essentially, the coroners believe Corey was either drugged or accidentally given too much of the medicine.

Whatever the case, investigators are now left to piece together what exactly led to baby Corey's death …as his mother deals with the pain, of a life lost too early.

I sense an issue not discussed on the news is if there was any of this drug in the daycare facility or had the parents given it to poor helpless Corey.
When my son was in daycare, whenever the kid was in need to take any type of medications; my wife and I always provided these med's and the instructions to be followed.
The daycare provider was never allowed to self administer any drugs or med's to him. We had to sign a contract for his care and this was a condition.
iF SUCH A CONTRACT WAS BREACHED THEN LAWSUIT COULD HAVE AND WOULD HAVE OCCURED.

Maybe they should do a better job of screening the people they grant these permits/licenses to.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time something like this has happened down here in De.

PAdrifter --
That was something we DID include in our piece. Police say, that's one of the things they're investigating. However, Detectives would not go into specifics with us. ((Everything is kept under wraps until the invg. is concluded))

But it was a great point to bring up!
