Drug Testing

   I have a full time job. I am subject to random drug testing as a condition to my employment. I understand and accept this, especially because I don't use drugs. Now, people who work and are subject to these policies generate the tax base of this society, whether it by at the federal or state level.  These tax revenues are used to pay for welfare programs. Shouldn't the people who receive these benefits be subject to the same testing before receive them?    Any thoughts, suggestions?   Am I goofy on this, or will I be accused of being a heartless, right wing, warmonger ,baby killer?

It's a good idea. Depends on the drug. Drugs like meth, crack-yes. Thing like cigarettes, alcohol, pot-no.

Legalize Marijuana, and I would say yes, but if we are going to fire and incarcerate people for wanting to have a job and use THC on their time off then I will fight it (but obviously not on my short list of most important things to fight).

If someone can use pot in moderation, and still show up and do their job, then it shouldn't matter, so long as they are not under the influence during job hours.

Yes I would totally agree with this. But that will never happen because these people are considered having a disease. Which I feel is totally ridiculous.

Hmmm... Never thought of this. It sounds like a viable option to me. If these people need to receive tax money to pay their bills, buy groceries, etc., it wouldn't hurt to make sure they're not sqandering some of this money on drugs while their children are starving.
