I was just reading about the new GI Billand why it's being opposed.  Officials in charge of Pentagon personnel worry that a more generous and expansive GI Bill would create an incentive for troops to get out of the military and go to college. So now we are the country that holds its soldiers hostage?  This is ridiculous, and guess who supports this idea and doesn't want veterans who leave the military without serving 20 years to get an education?  Yep,  John McCain.  A veteran who's treating other veterans like this cannot possibly be a good president.  People please WAKE UP

Monsta, not that this has ANYTHING to do with this post but do you smoke? If by any chance you do smoke, you need to head over to the blog, "Use your ashtrays" they could use someone with your wit over there to stir things up, lol!

It's a darn shame houw our soldiers are treated. Once they're used for the purpose, they're thrown out with the garbage. If anything, that would increase young men and woman to enlist. MeCain is such a war hero, he should of been the first person to push for the idea. He doesn't think our troops are worth that much? You don't have to be a war hero to know we need to do more for our troop, not just education, but healthcare and employment also. We know where he's coming from, don't we. I read that it would cost the government something like 20 million for 10 years. that's nothing compared to the war costing 20 million a week. McCain is a big, old joke.

I agree with you mommareenie. It is sickening isn't it? I was watching Deal or no Deal one night and it had a soldier on it and he said,"I'm here to make money for my familys healthcare"...I am still puzzled by that statement. Our troops are not treated as they should be. They are sacrificing sooooooooo much for all of us. I never understood any of this or how senior citizens are treated by our government.

All I can say is, it's a disgrace. I saw on the news a couple of weeks ago, a soldier returning home wounded (he lost an eye)and he had to pay $200+ for his baggage. Now, I know the airlines have to make up for the high cost of fuel, but the government can't pick up the tab for our soldiers. I just don't get it.
