What happens when you don't like either Presidential Candidate?
Do you play "eenie-meenie-minee-mo"?
Play rock paper scissors?
Draw a name from a hat?
Vote independent just so you can say you voted?
Ask mommy and daddy?
Or don't vote at all...
I don't like socialism. Not interested in it at all.
And frankly, McCain hasn't done enough to convince me. The "maverick" thing doesn't cut it for me.
So I am at a crossroad.
I will be able to vote for the first time this year, and I am afraid it will go to waste.

16 students involved in a fight at Bradley Tech. One cop injured after being punched in the face.
I just don't get it.
I am highly upset.
Maybe I care too much about my future.
Maybe I see how some poor children suffer because their parents didn't get an education, and therefore, cannot get a good-paying or respectable, or legal (yes I said it) job.
But I just do not understand why teenagers come to school and FIGHT!
Bradley Tech is an excellent school. Rockwell Automation is always looking for future engineers, and the company is willing to provide scholarships and internships, investing in the future. I have a classmate who graduated from Tech and now makes $15 an hour an an intern at Rockwell.
Don't the other students want that? Don't their parents want that? Doesn't our community want that?
Or do they want more criminals posing as leaders, like Michael McGee?
The vote was just passed this week to increase taxes, and that money would go to MPS!
To do what!
Pay for more cops to walk around Bradley Tech?
This is my plea to all MPS students:
Take you education seriously. Period.

Let's forget about race, nationality or color for a second.
Or let's not.
I had an interesting discussion with my high school teacher.
He has an African-American friend who moved over to the states a few years ago. He applied for some jobs, and filled out the infamous "Where are you from" section.
For "race", he checked "African-American"
He was called for an interview. When he arrived, the manager was shocked. Why?
Because his skin was white.
He was born and raised in Africa. He moved to the United States, so doesn't this make him "African-American"?
Why is it that people assume that because you say you are "African-American" that your skin is dark?
Or the other way around! You could be born in be dark skinned, or "Black" as they say, but you could be from Cuba, Canada, or the North Pole.
So what's with the checklist on applications? Is it really necessary?
Isn't the only race the human race? Nationality I get. But race and color, I don't because it does not always reveal you or your family's history or country of origin, if that even matters.
Let's get rid of "Black and White".

So I'm sure you've heard....
John Kerry was at some rally talking politics, when he said this:
"Barack got asked the famous boxers or briefs question," Kerry said. "I was tempted to say commando."
"Then they asked McCain and McCain said, 'Depends."
The media ATE THIS UP as you could guess. Big feeding frenzy.
Check out how Greta Van Susteren blew it up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-jhKFD50HM
Now...to be fair, when Kerry said "depends", it could have been one of two things, because he didn't actually say "he wears Depends". But at the same time he didn't say, "it depends". He could have meant:
"Depends" as in, it depends, as in, it varies. He could wear briefs on Monday and boxers on Tuesday.
Or "Depends", as in, the adult diaper.
Hey, I'm just being trying to be fair. I don't want to be one of those Journalists that cries foul at every comment without examining both sides. :)
The crowd laughed, and loved the joke. But Kerry is what, only six or seven years younger than McCain, so if he really did mean adult diapers, he better be careful because he isn't that far away from that himself.
Your thoughts?

In Los Angeles, there is total outrage from the results of an audit that revealed over 7,000
rape kits have not yet been tested!
They are sitting in the lab freezers while thousands of woman go without closure and justice, and the criminals that did it are still free!
Some of the kits, 217 of them to be exact, are over ten years old, and in California, that means the statute of limitations has passed, and that if a DNA match is found, the person cannot be prosecuted.
They say it's because of money, under staffing, and poor budgeting....that's always the answer, right?
This is in part why some women who are assaulted do not come forward, and it is really a shame.
What is going on with our justice system? We need to do more to help protect and get justice for our women.

The following is from jsonline.com:
West Bend - A 15-year-old student at West Bend East High School
who complained of racial harassment at the school this semester was
arrested Monday night on accusations of obstructing officers
investigating her complaints, police said this morning.
The girl repeatedly lied to police about the incidents, police Chief Ken Meuler said.
"She violated state law by giving us false information," Meuler said.
The
girl had alleged that other students had tossed eggs on her and had
pushed her down a stairway as part of a series of incidents that began
Sept. 18. The department's investigation reviewed surveillance video
and interviewed other students and administrators but could find no
evidence to support even one of her claims, Meuler said.
The
girl has withdrawn from the school district, Meuler said. Police are
seeking five counts of obstructing officers, and the allegations are
being reviewed by the Washington County district attorney's office.
I am so relieved to know that she lied! I absolutely hate when people play the race card. I hope West Bend's reputation was not injured due to the ignorant and completely disturbing lies told by this little girl. She looks like an idiot. I really hope her family was not in on this. If not, I truly feel sorry for them because their image is completely destroyed by this senseless, crude act.
I hope the students at West Bend do not think all minorities that come to that school district will behave like this. As I Black young woman, I am embarrassed and ashamed of this girl.

Apparently, Farve is still mending his wounds.
Fox NFL Sunday reported that the former quarterback "spent 60-90 minutes on the phone helping the Detroit Lions prepare for his former team before their Week 2 matchup".
"Favre called the Detroit Lions, starting
off with (former Detroit
general manager) Matt Millen, Glazer said. "Matt Millen then put him in
touch with the coaching staff and gave the coaching staff like an hour or a
90-minute dissertation, every single thing that the Green Bay Packers do on
offense. It's his former team. He's calling a division opponent of
a team he has nothing to do with any more and just let's loose all the
family secrets. How about that?"
said Jay Glazer today during the Fox pre-game show.
The Packers won that game, by the way, 48-25.
If this is true, how does this help Farve's image? I thought he was still playing the victim card?
I really do hope this is not true because it's so childish! This Packers vs. Farve divorce is ridiculous
Say it ain't so.....Brett!

After lots of hard-work of being responsible with a credit card to establish a good credit history and saving of my precious money, I am going to be financed for my first vehicle in December.
I'm sure some of you have seen the commercial for the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, claiming that buying this vehicle is better than purchasing any imported vehicle.
I've head the debate over domestic vs. import, but now, I really need some facts!
Is there really a major difference between the two?
Which brand will give me the most out of it for my money?

Topper's Pizza has been around for a while now.
I stopped at the one in Wauwatosa, and it was great! The customer service is outstanding, and the food was delicious!
I had the BBQ Chicken pizza and I fell in love!
They also have sandwiches that they call Grinders.
Give em a shot! They deliver!

Does the music that people listen to have a direct influence on their behavior and actions?
Many people say that death metal and lyrics from artists like Marilyn Manson, causes students, for example, to engage in violent and deadly situations at our schools and colleges.
In June of this year, R&B singer Ashanti had a video pulled from
circulation because of the bloody, murder scene. In the video, her
"boyfriend" cheats on her, and she seeks revenge by "killing" him.
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display
.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003816023Is that a fair statement? Was that the right thing to do?
What
about a teen that listens to gospel all the time, will that lead him or
her to salvation? Will they run to the alter whenever they get the
chance because of the lyrics in gospel songs?
Should
we be worried about the influence music videos and lyrics (or society
in general) have on our youth? Or should we just rely on parents to
teach our kids right from wrong?

Lately, I've had a few complaints from readers who see that I am addressing and asking about the ignorance taking place in the Presidential campaign. I have stated many times that I have not made up my mind, but people continue to come to MY BLOG and disrespect ME and MY OPINION.
I am very fed up with that.
I ask everyone, please, respect what I'm saying in my blog.
I am not looking for personal attacks. I am an adult, you can take the childish games to the playground.
Don't come to my blog and tell me WHAT to think, HOW to think, and WHY to think. That is not your job. I am an individual trying to follow my own unique path, and I am very entitled to say whatever I feel (as long as it's in the range of Fox 6's Terms of Content, of course).
So I beg you, PLEASE stop sabotaging my blog with your ignorance!

I take a Politics & Media class at UWM, so I am constantly doing assignments on the candidates on a weekly basis. I have not made up my mind on who I will vote for, but this class really helps me learn about the candidites.
This week, I came across several videos of American citizens saying the most ignorant things I have ever heard from an adult in 2008.
"Kill him" One attendee said at a Palin event.
"Terrorist" Some yelled.
"He's an Arab". A older woman said at a McCain event.
"I'm afraid of ab Obama Presidency" another said. "He hangs out with terrorists".
And when McCain tried his very best to denounce these statements, he was BOOED!
Some even laughed when Joe Biden got chocked up about the death of his wife.
Even Fidel Castro....CASTRO has said it's a“pure miracle” that U.S.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has not been
assassinated as yet.
What the hell is going on with the citizens of this country?
Are these the actual reasons people are voting for McCain?
This really saddens me, because for once, I actually thought this country had come a long way. Obama actually got the nomination, and I was so proud. Now, I'm starting to feel angry and frustrated because of all the ignorant, non-tolerant citizens that make up this so called "free world".
What are your thoughts on all this mayhem? Check out the videos for yourself, and respond...as an American.

I am looking to getaway for the weekend. I have midterms next week (UWM) and I need a nice, quiet place to study, but also a place to relax before going out to the battlefield. Two of my exams are on the same date!
Does anyone know of any good priced hotels, with a pool, and possibly a gym (the pool is a requirement :] )?
I am looking to pay no more than $175 for Saturday night. Maybe Friday and Saturday if I can find a good deal.
All tips are appreciated!

As the election gets closer and closer, things are really getting tense between the two candidates. This is such a turn off for me, a first-time voter. What do you all think?
